Road rage/aggressive driving starts from things such as illegal or improper lane changes, failing to yield the right of way, and excessive speeding just to name a few. Everyday we deal with this type of driving. Everyone runs a great risk just driving around the corner to the local convenience store or just to the local church. According to U.S. News and World Report, the United States Department of Transportation estimates that two-thirds of fatalities are at least partially caused by road rage/ aggressive driving. Significance In The Amount Of Stress One Experiences & The Relation To Their Driving Introduction Many people experience different types of stress, and people may express their stress in different ways. Stress is caused by a number things that we deal with on a daily basis. We decided to research whether there was a significance in the amount of stress someone experiences and the relation to their driving. Our hypothesis was to determine if there was a relation in the amount of stress and road rage. We predicted that there was a positive correlation between stress and roadrage. We predicted that there would be correlation between stress and road rage because high levels of stress could be correlated to violence, impatience, irritation, and anger; which can all seem to be linked to aggressive behaviors while driving. Having a positive or negative behavior rational-total we would be able to conclude if factors of stress lead towards road rage. Schebel, Severson, Ball, and Rizzo (2006) found was that the first personality trait called sensation-seeking, the second called conscientiousness, and lastly anger/hostility all came to a total of a positive effect; their personality does really affect their judgments/mood of driving.
