This case is Alexander Rodriquez versus Major league Baseball (MLB). MLB wanted to suspend Rodriquez for 211 games during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The MLB contested that Rodriquez violated the Basic Agreement (BA) and the Joint Drug agreement (JDA). MLB believes they have sufficient evidence regarding Rodriquez’s continued violations of the JDA and also, continuously tried to cover up his involvement with multiple banned substances. Evidence in this case suggests that Rodriquez used and/or possessed three performance enhancing substances banned by Section 2.B of the JDA throughout a three-year period from 2010 to 2013.
