The personality of any individual is heavily influence by environmental, societal, and biological factors. One of the most important environmental factors which shape the personality of any individual is that of culture. It is important to consider the impacts of culture on personality of any individual because of the fact that to other cultures, Western concepts and philosophies are not essentially applicable. It has been shown by research that across cultures, there are a lot of variations in personality traits. In this particular case of Samantha, though she was beautiful and competent enough to be a good dancer, but the negative attitude of the society made her to think that she is not good enough to be a dancer. The societal response to Samantha was discouraging and instead of supporting her, the society behavior altered her perceptions. She was badly discouraged and even started drinking which further deteriorated her health. The confidence of Samantha shattered badly. She even started thinking of her mother who went through similar kind of situation and Samantha started believing that the history is repeating itself. Because of the habit of negative thinking which developed in her because of society, he also started thinking wrong about her husband. When her husband came to know about Samantha’s situation, he at once contacted psychologist and also had a chat with Samantha. During discussion with her husband, Samantha spoke up about the way she thinks. As in case of Samantha, it is evident that many individuals who are competent; their talents are not properly utilized because of the behavior of the society. Moreover in such cases, any individual should listen to his own heart and think himself. One should be able to analyze himself that what is true. Samantha was not able to communicate her husband about her reservations and she took the things which society which society told about her very seriously. Being a female she was more prone to accepting what society says and was not strong enough to respond in such scenarios. To deal with such kind of issues is not an easy task. This is because a thinking or concept is developed over a passage of time. The only way seems in this particular case is the help of husband to recover the mental health of Samantha.
