...From the time I was in preschool until I was a freshman in high school, I attended a private elementary and middle school names St. Lukes Lutheran School where the maximum number of kids in the school was between 100 and 200 students. Everything at the school was very hands on and all the teachers were very helpful because of the low amount of students. For all of the sports, everybody made the team and everyone was given playing time. The amount of attention that was given to all of the students made the material in the classes easy to understand. When I graduated from the school after my freshman year, the class I was in only had 13 students and most of us would be moving on to much larger high schools. The next school year I would be attending Eastern View High School, a newly built public high school in the Culpeper school district. The biggest difference between St. Lukes and Eastern View was the amount of students. I went from a school with 80 students to a class with 400 students. I was extremely worried about having to self motivate myself and not be pushed by my teachers to do better. But instead of falling under the pressure, I thrived from it and pushed myself. I was given so much freedom as a student which I had never had before. That gave me the opportunity to try different classes that I was interested in. During my sophomore year I was told about the Sports Medicine class to study Athletic Training. Since I didn’t know what I wanted to study when I got...

...The recent changes in school lunches are beneficial to everyone that is involved. Children are becoming obese sooner in life do to not eating the right things at school. If we supply breakfast and a healthier lunch for children, they would be a lot healthier. This brochure should inform you of the benefits for your children to eat healthier. Congress passed the National School Lunch Act in 1946 to support commodity prices after World War II by reducing farm surpluses while providing food to schoolchildren. By 1970, the program was providing 22 million lunches on an average day, about a fifth of them subsidized. Since then, the subsidized portion has grown while paid lunches have declined, but not since 1972 have so many additional children become eligible for free lunches as in fiscal year 2010, 1.3 million. Today it is a $10.8 billion program providing 32 million lunches, 21 million of which are free or at reduced price. The number of students receiving subsidized lunches rose to 21 million last school year from 18 million in 2006-7, a 17 percent increase, according to an analysis by The New York Times of data from the Department of Agriculture (Sam Dillion, New York Times, Nov. 30, 2011). Some children only get to eat food at school. In Dallas, Newark and Chicago, for instance, about 85 percent of students are eligible, and most schools also offer free breakfasts. Now, some places have added free supper programs, fearing that needy students otherwise will go to bed hungry...

...School has changed drastically in the past few years. However, this institution has not always changed for the better. Three areas that need improvement so students feel more joy and freedom in their learning include changing lunch options, arranging different hours in school, and reducing standardized test taking. These changes would benefit the school hugely to make students enjoy being at school, Which would increase test scores, grades, and participation in class. The changes that have been made to school system has not made my experience better throughout high school. The school changed lunch to make healthier choices for high schoolers; although these changes have only caused frustration for people that actually want to enjoy their lunch. For example, my school used to have huge chocolate chip cookies for sale during lunch, but due to the push to receive funding for lunches, schools had to eliminate the delicious cookies that students enjoyed. Schools also, eliminated syrup and other sugary toppings in order to try and reduce child obesity. Quite often kids don’t even eat school lunch because of all the different changes that have been made, so I believe that eating good food in order to make school a better experience is a priority....

...In school, we use old, torn textbooks that have not been up to date information nothing like when you use technology like computers. If we use a computer with tabs or websites for textbooks it would solve some problems but not all of them. First it would be up to date events or facts at learners fingertips. Next it would excite learners instead of those boring, old textbooks. What’s more important is that it can save less time and maybe money. That’s why technology should be used in schools instead of textbooks. With the technology now a days, schools should in corporate this into learning experiences. It can give the teachers most recent information. For example, if needed what is the most currents events for a class, you could just use small computers for the students to find this out and write about it. Also, doing the work on technology can motivate students to do it rather than writing which takes half the time or maybe even blow it off. Above all, the technology schools can use change students attitude towards school work. In textbooks you just see paragraphs and paragraphs of facts and very cheesy pictures on the side that explain what was said. Through computers, they can show a video that students listen to so that they don’t have to read. Also these videos can demonstrate how something works or functions. As well, these videos are can help the students become visual learners. Above all else, computers can contribute in many different ways of learning. Computers...

...School lunches have changed in cost and content. In the united states we all have choices, go right to work out of high school or pursue a higher education, to participate in the political process by voting or choosing not to vote, to eat and drink without thought or live a healthy lifestyle. One choice has been made for the children of America in recent years, the choice of eating a healthy diet, trading in French fries and chicken nuggets for salad bars and organic beef. With the new menu come health benefits but come with additional costs to tax payers. With childhood obesity reaching all time highs president Barack Obama has implemented changes to what is required in the nations cafeterias. “The Healthy, hunger-free kids act, signed by President Barack Obama in 2010, requires all government-subsidized lunch programs to double the amount of fruits and vegetables they serve to children, and serve only whole grains for all grain products” (Allen, 2012) With these new requirements schools are mandated to meet comes additional cost that is not covered by the budget allocated for the school food programs. Allen (2012) found that the changes will take place in 2013-14, will increase the budget for the school program by $3.2 billion, per meal 14 cents, to the already established $11 billion school lunch program. With increased costs and no new funding the additional cost is passed on to the schools, Allen (2012) one school district Shenedehowa’s, lost $23,000 in a...

...Life in high school was very different from that of what I have experienced up to now in college. Transition from high school to college was not easy. There were many points influencing the fact that I wasn’t prepared enough initially to go through this experience so suddenly. On 10th september,2015 I was a boy who had flown 18000 miles from Kolkata, India and come to experience a completely different culture and phase of my life. I never expected it to be really easy to get through this change, because I knew they were both going to be very different lives, and life in college would be different because of all the freedom, and responsibility. When I was in high school, I had all the luxuries I needed. I had every single resource. I never had to lift a finger; it was like everything was there for me on a platter. I always had a car for me to go wherever I wanted whenever I wanted, when I did not want to drive, there was a driver t take me. I had people to do all the chores, id never washed a dish, or my clothes before I came to college .I had staff who did the cleaning, ironing and all the other things. I had tutors to help me with the subjects I had a problem with. I know this would seem like too the people in clleg as if I am a brat, and I had to deal with that while learning all this going through such a major life change. Even school was very different, the teaching style, the teachers the friends, everything was something I was comfortable in. Its that way for almost all...

Because the board of education thinks that grades define who you are. For example, my best friend was being defined as special,...

It all started in 1954 when the supreme court decided that segregation in schools was “unconstitutional.” After these events had happened, schools around the country followed their lead. ...What is so important to change the breakfast and lunch school from what we have? It is important as parents are very concern about what their children have at school for breakfast and lunch. This topic is become sensitive and brought it up to majority by the First Lady, Michelle Obama at Parklawn Elementary School in Alexandria, Virginia as she claimed that she was worried about the food at school as she tried to prepare healthy food for her children (Nixon, 2012.) Moreover changing the breakfast and lunch program can come from many reasons: economic, population, and benefits. In this economy hard time, parents who never have any problem about putting money in pocket might find themselves struggling with financial problem. ...aligning systems and organizational structures in place that guarantee profit and company growth. Change, however, can be problematic and difficult within an organization, especially those catering to stockholders and investors. The Strategic Change Initiative Strategic change involves not only deciding what to change, but how and when to change specific elements of one’s strategic orientation. This change may be driven by dramatic changes within the environment, declining organizational performance, or perhaps even both. Within the realm of an early childhood education, strategic planning can be considered as steering the parent and community volunteering activities such that they are in alignment with organizational mission and vision. The purpose of the PACE Early Childhood Education Policy Committee will be to work in conjunction with the PACE ECE Director, Board of Directors, and staff to serve as a policy making body. In addition, the PACE ECE Policy Committee will also serve as a catalyst for relaying relevant information to all PACE ECE school sites and assist in the implementation of all PACE ECE’s organizational goals and objectives. To implement the strategic change process within the organization to improve parent involvement, the Policy Committee has agreed to and voted on adding two new positions, one within the Policy Committee and one at each of our school sites. Is she happy at school or sad? What is it that happens just before her tantrums start? Did you like preschool at first? Did something change at school to make you not like to go there? How does she feel just before she misbehaves? Are you lonely? I would ask her parents when she started acting this way. How do you get her to stop? How has her sleeping patterns changed? What has changed as far as her eating before these problem arouse? How long before you noticed a change in her behavior? Did something change in her daily routine? Have they noticed any other changes in her? How does she act most of the time? Do her moods swing from high to low? Does she still enjoy the same things she did before? Is there a change in her energy level? Is there a change in mood if she doesn’t get her way? At what age was she adopted? Has there been a change in her house hold recently?
