This school year has had both its positive and negative effects on my life. During this school year I joined a new choir and made a lot of cool new friends and I did some really exciting things. Being in that choir I was able to go to Flagstaff Arizona, went to Hollywood, the Santa Monica Pier, and I was able to go to Universal Studios. It was such an amazing experience, I’m so glad I joined Rhythmix. When I joined I honestly thought they all hated me and didn’t think that I deserved to be there. As the year went along I created friendships, gained their trust, and proved that I belong. I learned how to open up more and be confident, I am so grateful I had the chance to be in that choir. Being in Choir, though helping me a lot through school,

I am worried about the SAT because these past years we’ve been practicing on the ACT but now they switched so I'm worried because I don’t know what to expect. I wouldn’t say that anything in Avid was easy because it takes a lot of work but I could say that I'm now used to doing Cornell notes. Avid was a challenging situation for me in the beginning of the sophomore year because it was my first year and I had no experience in comparison to the other students so I didn't really know what to do and I was worried because I didn't want to fall behind. However, I ended up doing pretty good and when I was confused about something I would ask the tutors or I would go to Mrs....

Middle School Years Research Paper

...Middle school is a necessary time in every student’s life because even though it can be filled with tough decisions, these formative years also help to build character. I believe that it is important to stick out your middle school years because you become an independent individual, a student truly learns the difference between right and wrong, and your experiences lead you in your life direction. During middle school the ongoing saying was, “I am telling you/giving you this and it is your responsibility to turn it in. Not your parents, yours.” This was constantly drilled into my head during these years, and I believe it helped me become ready to tackle my future head on. Middle school made me aware that I had to stick up for myself in difficult situations. My parents couldn’t always be there to bail me out or help me talk to a teacher. These responsibilities now fell on me and I believe that I grew up stronger because of it. I think it is important for every child to go through this pre-independent stage. This prepares them for being an adult where there isn’t always someone to assist you when you need it. Middle school forces you to grow up a bit, but it is for your own benefit....

Accounting Professor

...and Eric T. Rapley ABSTRACT: The purpose of this paper is to provide a concise career guide for current and potential doctoral students in accounting and, in the process, help them gain a greater awareness of what it means to be an accounting professor. The guide can also be used by accounting faculty in doctoral programs as a starting point in mentoring their doctoral students. We begin with foundational guidance to help doctoral students better understand the “big picture” surrounding the academic accounting environment. We then provide specific research guidance and publishing guidance to help improve the probability of publication success. Actions are suggested that doctoral students and new faculty can take to help jump-start their academic careers. We finish with guidance regarding some important acronyms of special interest to doctoral students in accounting. Keywords: career guidance; doctoral students; research; publishing. INTRODUCTION igher education faces a severe, and growing, shortage of accounting professors. As a result, the job prospects for new accounting doctoral graduates are very good and are getting better. Starting salaries are increasing, but so are the requirements for tenure and promotion. In particular, the requirements to produce more and better research are growing in most schools. An ad hoc committee of the American Accounting Association ͑AAA͒ was formed approximately five years ago to assess the shortage of accounting faculty and...

It was about the effects of the pollution in the Chesapeake Bay. The 10 page paper required extensive research with 350 flashcards, 3 drafts, and a class trip to the Chesapeake Bay at the end of...
