...Tyre companies stocks down on slow down in auto sales and gloomy economic outlook After enjoying positive ride in the first four months of this year due to falling raw material costs and revival in auto sales growth, stocks of tyre companies fell in April and May thanks to slow down in auto sales and gloomy economic outlook of the country which has dampened sentiments of investors. Stocks of Indian tyre companies had increased around 30% in the first one and a half month of this year while the Bombay Stock Exchange’s Benchmark 30-share Sensex (Sensex Index) spiked by 15% in the same period. However, despite the Sensex Index fell by around 5% in the period of 15th February to 10th April 2012, tyre companies’ continued to move northwards due to falling raw material costs and continued growth in automobile sales, mainly car sales. Tyre companies had posted robust earning growth in the January-March quarter on the account of an impressive sales growth in automobile and softened prices of natural rubber in domestic and international markets and that had reflected on tyre companies stocks. After restoring some confidence at the start of this year, investors again started losing confidence on the bourses because of discouraging waves of poor industrial growth, record level low of the rupees against the dollar and falling GDP growth rate, and rising crude oil prices. India’s economic growth plunged in the fourth quarter (January-March) of 2011-12 to 5.3%, which is a nine...

...Blue Rhino Slows Down to Get Ahead 1. What is Blue Rhino’s business strategy? How well was the strategy supported by information systems? Blue Rhino’s business strategy is: 1. Increasing its relationships and customers by providing a more efficient and safer way for supplying its customers with propane cylinders. Instead of refilling the same cylinder over and over again, which is a waste of time and dangerous, Blue Rhino offers an approach for exchanging empty ones with ones that are already filled. 2. Increasing the demand for, and awareness of cylinder exchange, to increase its sales. Blue Rhino’s business strategy was not supported by information systems at first. They avoided micromanagement and bureaucracy, working in a decentralized environment. This type of implementation was an integral part in the company’s success. 2. Why did Blue Rhino have to revamp its systems and business processes? Because of Blue Rhino’s vast success, it reached a capitalization above $75 million. Therefore they were forced to meet the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act which “requires upper-level executives of companies with market capitalization above $ 75 million to take greater responsibility for the income statements and balance sheets of their business.” However, Blue Rhino was already planning on revamping its processes since they were having difficulty with the control over its inventory, financial operations, and with the human resources department; this act only...

...Turtle walkers (Satire on slow walkers) Have you ever walk in the hallway or down the street and they walk super slow. All four years of high school I had to walk really slow behind people and sometimes fell on my face because people walk so slow. There are many reason why people walk slow, to talk with friends, enjoy the school before they leave and maybe even so they can catch their boyfriend walking down the hall and hug them before next class. The first reason why I love people who walk really slow is to talk with their friends. Maybe they were running late to class and didn’t get to talk to them before the bell rang and they needed to tell them something important. People like talking with their friends because it makes them happy and laugh. Some days people have really bad days and it would brighten your day when you stop right in the middle of the hallway to talk to them. People are always stopping right in the middle of the hallway to talk to their boy or girl friends. People love to be walking down the hallway and stop right when you're not looking and turn around...

...Memory and Process Management A computer is very complex and can seem to be working fine until something unknown causes it to slow down. A person can have their computer for a short amount of time and then it slows down or they can have it for years and then start slowing down, it varies greatly and it just depends on the user and how they use their computer. But, a lot of computers over time slow down because of time and the years it’s had but that’s not always the case. When a computer system slows down, it doesn’t necessarily mean that maximum memory utilization has taken place, it can be a lot of things that slow it down. A person downloads files, surfs the internet, install and uninstall different software throughout time, and downloading can cause the reason of slowing down a PC. But, if it is a memory problem, then the person’s computer can run of disc space or RAM. The operating system I would use for the computer at home or laptop with me would be Fedora 20. I would use fedora 20 not only for good memory utilization but for the safeness of it. Also known as Linux, it’s free to install and doesn’t cost a dime to put on the computer. There is a lot of freedom with using Linux because unlike with other operating systems, a person can control every aspect of the operating system and with Linux, a person loses the risk of corrupting their system. If a computer is old and hardly has anymore processing and memory Linux is the perfect operating system because it’s basically...

...1. Switching infrastructure congestion, corruption, or collisions. a. Congestion Congestion cause network slow down where the ports that are oversubscribed. Oversubscribed port is where the port on the switches is attempting to deliver data at a higher rate than the port bandwidth can support or allow. When oversubscribed port occurs, some of the packets must end up being dropped. Those client packets are being dropped will experience a slow-down in their file transfers or in the responsiveness of the network-based applications they are running. Overall network performance congestion could cause even though by subscribed high bandwidth ISP to internet access but hardware cannot utilizes the bandwidth ISP provide. b. Corruption If packets is corrupted by faulty cabling, electrical interference, or switch hardware faults then the corrupted packets will be dropped by the receiving switch. If corrupt packets at high rate it will cause a slow-down in network performance. Because servers/hosts require to resend the dropped packets again to the clients. If this issues did not fix it will cause the network traffic busy because the same data is resend again. It will occupied the network bandwidth cause another client on the network experience slow network. c. Collisions...

...How Depressants Affect Humans Depressants slow down brain and body functions. These types of drugs are often called “downers”. Some medications are depressants, such as Xanax. Depressants are commonly used to relieve people of anxiety, insomnia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and seizures. These are all afflictions where the body functions are too fast (heart-rate too high, brain activity malfunctioning, etc.), so depressants are used to slow body function down to normal levels. People often abuse or are dependent on depressants, mostly alcohol. Someone who is drinking for the first time may feel the effects of alcohol long before a habitual drinker. Constant use of depressants will lead to tolerance. In turn, this will lead to the person needing more and more of the drug to get the effects they crave. This will cause an addiction to the depressant, and if the person tries to quit they may feel symptoms of withdrawal. The use of depressants without moderation can lead to substance use disorders. The general short term effects of depressants are: slow pulse and breathing, drowsiness, fatigue, and...

Remain stopped as long as the signal is red, unless turns are allowed. Right turn on red: You may turn right while the traffic signal displays a red light. Before turning, you must come to a complete stop. Look both ways and yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and other traffic. Be sure to check for less visible vehicles such as motorcycles, bicycles and mopeds. You may not turn right on red if signs are posted at the intersection that read “No Turn on Red,” or if a red arrow pointing to the right is displayed. ...Can you imagine not having the same rights as everyone else around you, to be scrutinized by your appearance without anyone knowing anything about you? This is what the blacks faced everyday. Even though Congress tried to advance reconstruction it failed miserably. Most importantly, Congress issued many amendments that allowed blacks to have equal rights. In addition, Radical Republicans founded the Freedman's Bureau which helped former slaves and poor whites in need. Lastly, however white supremacist groups terrorized blacks to slow down reconstruction. From all appearances, reconstruction was placed by Congress to help, but the white supremacists groups tried to slow it down. Most importantly, Congress issued many amendments that allowed blacks to have equal rights. Although Congress issued the 15th amendment , which gave former slaves the right to vote, the 14th amendment, which gave former slaves citizenship, and the 13th amendment, that gave slaves freedom, they didn't help much. It did make some progress in Reconstruction, however people began to protest it. For example, many states issued a poll tax. The poll tax was used to prevent blacks from voting. Since, the blacks didn't have much money they didn't want to waste the little they had on voting, when they could spent it on food or clothing. In addition, Radical Republicans founded the Freedman's Bureau which helped former slaves and poor whites in need. The Freedman's Bureau was very helpful and advanced Reconstruction...
