Studying the Bible to Teach the Bible

...Rightly Divided: Studying the Bible to Teach the Bible I. Romans 8: 1-17. “1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, 4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. 5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. 9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ...

Nike Recommendation Report

...EXECUTIVE SUMMARY NIKE INC. In an effort to become one of the world’s leading designers, marketers, and distributors of athletic footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessories, Nike Inc. started with two visionary men who transformed themselves into one of the top selling brands in the athletic shoe industry. Through taking chances and understanding customers needs, Nike Inc. has established a large market position and strong brand equity. Nike Inc. understood early in its history that aligning its products with top athletes like Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong and Michael Jordan, would propel the Nike brand to the very top. Nike also fostered endorsements with both individuals and associations like the NFL. Nike also takes into consideration the impact of giving back, having a positive Corporate Social Responsibility and being environmentally conscious. At the same time Nike experienced setbacks due to their dependence on third party manufacturers and having limited control. Nike Better World CSR Campaign targets smaller waste output (carbon footprint) and paying closer attention to the way their products are being manufactured (labor force) helping Nike to get back in good standing with consumers. Because, the market for sporting goods is intensely competitive, it is important for Nike to realize that it is not just the young “hip” generation that is going to keep them on top. The older “Baby Boomers” can help them to succeed too; this generation is known for...

The Talent Code Notes

...The Talent Code – Greatness Isn’t Born. It’s Grown. Here’s How Introduction – The Girl Who Did a Month’s Worth of Practice in Six Minutes: * Media coverage tends to treat each hotbed as a singular phenomenon, but in truth they are all part of a larger and older pattern * Consider the artists of the Italian Renaissance, during which the city of Florence (population 70,000) suddenly produced an explosion of geniuses that has never been seen before * The questions echo – where does this extraordinary talent come from? How does it grow? * Clarissa, part of a study by music psychologists that tracked her progress at the clarinet for several years * Based on her aptitude tests and the testimony of her teacher, parents and her self, she possessed no music gifts * Good musical ear, but her motivation was below average * In the study’s written section, she responded “because I’m supposed to” as her reason for practicing * Nonetheless, she had become famous in music-science circles * Since on an average morning, the camera would capture this average kid doing something un-average, in 5 minutes and 40 seconds, she accelerated her learning speed by 10x and she didn’t even notice * Her music sounded pretty bad, common sense would lead us to believe that Clarissa is failing, but this would be wrong * She has a blueprint in her mind that she’s constantly comparing herself too, she’s not ignoring errors, she’s hearing...
