...Twitter…” “I…” “Let me save you sometime, I know every detail of your life, because, you know, I have your Facebook.” Have you ever got conversations like these? I’ve heard a lot of them. Nobody can deny that social network plays a more and more important role in our daily life. For some reason, some people like to post literally everything on the Internet. Forming doing this they get great sense of satisfaction. But it maybe never occurs to them that the posting will cause them some dangers. I once read a piece of news that a girl was found raped and murdered on her way to Yoga class. The suspect is one of her admirers and the way he found out her itinerary is, obviously, by these social networks. It IS an extreme example and shouldn’t happen frequently. However, without any doubt, people could get to know you by the information you offer voluntarily on social networks. Of course, you can share your amazing experience with your friends online, but you should aware that there can and will be some unwilling audience. I understand that social network offers us some convenient to sharing our lives faster and more convenient and I am doing it sometimes. But we shouldn’t overdo it. According to my understanding, there are two reasons for why people are addicted to social network. The first one is they have strong vanity and the second one is their lives are empty. People need compliment. We need other’s identification to make us feel good about ourselves. Just admit it, we...

...without breaking a sweat, but can massive use of technology show its downsides when it comes to things such as maintaining relationships with other people? Even though people list reasons why technology has made relationships more complicated, there are a lot more more reasons in favour of the claim that couples can actually benefit from using technology. On one hand, technology may have certain drawbacks regarding relationships. For example, the fact that you can phone or chat to your partner whenever you want means that you'll spend less and less time actually being with each other in person. Furthermore, a lot of people use various social networks which can cause excessive jealousy, and can also lead to one person meeting a new potential partner, since it's not a long way from sending “hi” on chat to changing your relationship status. On the other hand, technology and relationships go very well together, and for a number of reasons. First of all, social networks don't necessarily have to mean a negative thing, but can provide a helping hand when we wish to find out a bit more about somebody. Also, being able to reach someone at all times is always a plus, and it's essential to be able to do so if your partner lives in another town or abroad. To sum up, some people believe that technology made dating even more complicated. However, technology has brought us countless positive things over the years and continues to do so even with our love...

Demographic affect my job is because I am working for a hearing aid company, and most of our customers are older people. As a result, the social and demographic environment will affect my job. Hearing aid is kind of technological product we import our product from Germany, and they will set up the hearing system inside our product, so my job is rely on technology. Also we need to use the email to communicate with our supplier. Since I can write English, I can use the internet to contact our supplier in Germany. The last main environment is environment is economic. Our company is in Taiwan, and we import hearing aid sell to our customers, so our product is middle price. Not low price. If the Economic environment is bad, then we also can’t accomplish the sales. Q3. The benefit of using a stakeholder approach is able to think of other stakeholders' interest can better inform the moral dimension of your own decisions. The stakeholder approach also provides a means for mapping complicated relationship between the focal and other stakeholders, a means of identifying the strategies of each stakeholder, and a means for assessing the moral responsibility of all the constituencies. As a result, I know the stakeholder approach I can choose more options to solve the problem. For example, my manager will tell me the profit price of the hearing aid, and...

...stuck her in the United States without a job and they also did not have anywhere to stay. The thing that stood out to me the most was that no one was helping these woman and they were actually mad that they were immigrating into the states. The thing I learned about this movie is that there is always someone in need of some help. It does not have to be people immigrating from another country and not being able to find a job but there are people who cannot afford things such as food and shelter for their children and they need help. Most of them do not ask for help I have come to realize. In the film I kept thinking about that. They did not ask for help because they felt like no one was going to help them or they just felt ashamed. Some things I have insights about in this case is that people should try to help others if they see that they need help because those people are not going to ask for help. They feel to ashamed. I can apply this by trying my hardest in my everyday life to help others. It does not have to be in a very large scale right now because I don’t have a big voice to be heard right now because I am just a college student. I can make a difference in someone’s life though. I can help someone with a project they are struggling with or I can just listen to a person that needs someone to listen to them. Taking my knowledge from the gospel it is a lot like service. All of the things that I need to do I service and charity. Go help someone shovel snow or just help them learn...

...keeper tests and redefines his own limits of responsibility.” (June, 2008). The issues in the film are important in this case because it is clear how a normal shift things are not going right, and there would be nothing, which could make things go any worse. There are many times when an employee will rather stay in bed for the day. Incidents happen, and things are out of one’s control, the easy thing to do is throw in the towel; however this is not the thing to do. Mishaps occur, and when it does, one should assess what is occurring at work. In this situation the light can be fixed, and used the equipment utilized for this job. The lighthouse keeper looks as there was not a solution, and at the time he did not view what was available to fix this problem. In this case the best thing for the lighthouse keeper was not to panic. Darkness may appear in a job, but there is always options, in this case the light at the end of the tunnel. The film “Lighthouse” teaches when one thing fails, go at it another way, the people came together and helped the lighthouse keeper. In turn things will run more smoothly, and the organization within the company will continue to improve. The role of the external social pressures has an elevated amount of influences on organizational issues. Word of mouth, news, and other social networks can have a grave affect on the standing and marketing greatly created by customers. It is important for the workers to help...

...Work-Life Balance Reflection This essay deals with the Work-life Balance workshop which took place on the EBS Campus Schloss on the 12th and 13th of September there were five different workshops which were held by different presenters and concerned a variety of topics. Work Life Balance is not just a phrase it is a very important thing. To organize your social- with your business life will help you to get everything done right. And it could prevent you from getting burned out. At the very beginning we did a spaghetti-challenge to build up some kind of team spirit and to show us that if you do not trial and error you will never succeed and learn how to cope with stress and failure in a playful manner. It was a great idea, but I think the group size was too big to organize it well, it just took too long to get together and this stuff done. Though it showed to me that even such simple things as building up a spaghetti tower with a marshmallow on top could cause a lot of stress and pressure. In the workshop Manage yourself, held by Ms Petra Weiler, we were told to realize, that we have a certain amount of time per week and have to plan it how we want to pass it and how we could arrange our free time around our duties. This skill is very important to be successful in your professional and students life. You could procrastinate and not organize your time and if it comes to the deadlines you will have a lot of stress to do it on time or you could have planned your time and be...

...to do with the extra time I had. That thought alone was a very unfortunate as well as uncomfortable one; I have a 6 year old daughter named Emma and this assignment made me realize how little real quality time I spend with her and my fiancé Mike. So, after a run to clear my head from these new revelations, I took to the kitchen and baked cupcakes with Emma, and to be honest that was the happiest I’ve seen her in a long time. Don’t get me wrong, Emma and I play video games together, go shopping, and things like that but during this time she just simply wanted one thing, her and I alone. I cannot completely cut myself off from media as it is my means of communications to my friends and long distance family members. What I can do is work diligently to reduce the amount of time I spend on my phone and the internet and make a very valiant effort to set aside the very much needed time with my own family in lieu of the feeling that I might “miss something” if I’m not constantly on social media. This assignment was a real eye opener on the dependency this generation has on mass media and it is truly...

...The Decline of The West Short story by: Hanif Kureishi The Decline of the West is a short story written by the English, half Pakistani writer Hanif Kureishi in 2010. The main theme in the short story is the capitalism and how material we have become in the West in the year of 2010 and how we strive to gain material comfort ahead of true happiness and greater meaning in life. The short story’s main character is a forty-five year old man named Mike who is on his way home to his family. It takes place in the upper class of the outskirts of London. Mike thinks that his family will appreciate that he is home early from work, which is not something that occurs since he is not working less than twelve-hour shifts. Mike seems as a hard-working man who does not spend much time with his family and we get a very negative picture of his family. There is a very cold attachment between him and he family since he is never home. But they can be demanding and the content that fills up their lives is material goods. At the short beginning the atmosphere and language is described very positive. Mike has endured the most desolate tube trip home and is looking forward to come home to his family and their home which is described as a nice and warm home he is looking forward to come home to; “Opening the door to a warm hall hearing the voices of his wife and children”. Though he has to tell his wife, Imogen that he got fired from his job. The language is well written in informal language...

...influenced by a person half way across the continent is hard, let alone the person in your neighbourhood. . Set in a dark fantasy world , the film Edward Scissorhands , by Tim Burton, and the identity defining book The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan, explore the challenges faced with being different. Although there are some slight differences, they are overcome by the striking amount of similarities. Characters in both texts come face-to-face with the challenge of being different, which consumes most of the texts. However , there are minor differences that revolve around society’s reactions to the challenges and changes faced by some individuals, such Edward Scissorhands and “the thing”. Conformity and social isolation are both explored and scrutinised deeply throughout both texts, with strong messages delivered about the problems with being different. Whilst the texts focus so strongly on the challenges or problems of being different, they ironically reveal a stronger message about the ignorance of a society that behaves exactly the same. Conformity is a result of the influenced change in one’s behaviour and beliefs in order to fit in with a group or individuals or society. It is a main theme explored in Edward Scissorhands and The Lost Thing. The ‘thing’ in The Lost Thing is different as it is a red mechanical being , as opposed to the human characters on the beach in the book. Alternately, Edward’s character In Edward Scissorhands is seen as different from he neighbourhood, as he hides...

...stress? Stress is your body’s reaction to the things which you perceive as pressures. Stress occurs when you feel that you cannot cope with those pressures. Our bodies are designed to react in 2 ways to stress: to fight against the pressure, or to run from it. This is called the fight or flight response and it is controlled by the release of a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol makes your body react in ways that allow you to fight harder or run faster and it focuses your attention on the thing causing you stress. This response enables you to deal with stress effectively by either battling to get through the problem, or by removing yourself from a situation which is causing you to feel stressed. Sometimes we see so many pressures around us that stress can become a long term problem. Although being stressed for short periods of times can be good for us, long term stress can have negative consequences and lead to problem such as high blood pressure, anxiety and depression. © Microsoft Stressors Stressors are the things around us which can cause a stress response. There are different types of stressors, some of them are environmental (e.g. too much noise), daily pressures (e.g. being late), life changing events (e.g. divorce), social stressors (e.g. family commitments), chemical stressors (e.g. alcohol) and workplace stressors. The stressors you experience in college could be called workplace stressors, and the main thing likely to cause you stress at college is your...

...happy and very comfortable with her life. She loves to read books by great philosophers and poets, and she quotes them at any given chance. She is quite conservative. She has no understanding for heavy and noisy music, and she prefers to stick to herself and stay out of the spotlight. She does not have any close friends, let alone a boyfriend. She is closed and reserved. The only social contact she has is with her co-workers and she does not get along with them very well. At Edith’s two weeks stay at Kenny Loathsome’s place in Nice, she starts to change. Suddenly she starts wearing contacts instead of glasses. She starts to get a tan and thinks about her looks in a different way. She tries to impress Kenny Loathsome, but he does not deign to look at her. She becomes kind of fascinated by him. He is the opposite of her and that is why she finds him interesting. Opposites attract. Even though she finds him interesting, she is on one hand horrified. ...example helps to explain Fred Green’s hypothesis; students are aware that they are wasting time on social media, but they cannot stop doing that. Another point mentioned in the article is that not all the student admit they are multitasking; to make this point more clear, Nizia refers to a recent study, that study argue that this student generation think that most of the things they do are correct; also they do not agree with the idea that social media can not be managed by them. They think everything is controlled. Nzia then introduces multitasking as the action to do more than one thing simultaneously. She makes reference to Moktharii’s comparison: it is not a problem when a person does two simple things, the problem is when both actions require the brain’s concentration to process the information. Finally, the author stresses the consequences of multitasking in student’s grades. I think this article reflects a reality. On my point of view, multitasking can be positive and negative depending on the context. It is positive when the objective is to produce quantity and it is negative when the purpose is to get a quality. As an example, I will give my own experience; I worked in a restaurant, and my boss asked me to learn all the services that the restaurant offers. When the restaurant was busy I did not have to focus on one thing, there were many people, so I had to make many things at the same time. As I mentioned, it is negative too. It is hard to me to stop using my phone; when...
