One of Sonia Sotomayor’s qualifications to write this book was that she lived the American Dream. She grew up in a poor family that lived in the projects of New York. When her father passed away, her mother was the one who had to provide for the family, so Sonia and her brother had to grow up at an early age to help her mother out.
