Stephen Smith was born a healthy little boy in November 1968 and grew to be a typical fun loving toddler who ran everywhere, sadly in 1973 when Stephen was just 4 years old he ran out of the house and straight onto the road where he was hit by a fast moving car, Stephen was rushed to hospital where his parents were told that the next week would be critical and there was only a sixty percent chance that he would survive all the emergency operations that had to be done due to the extensive damage the accident had caused. Thankfully he did survive but spent the next seven years in and out of hospital having operations to try and mend the damage that had been caused to his head, body and legs.
