Two chapters that caught my attention were Chapter 7 “As a child” and Chapter 8 “Passover Visit”. Chapter 7 talks about the growth of Jesus Christ. Faced with the possibility of spending his life in jail and losing everything he had, he made the commitment to believe in Jesus. Fay is currently a Chaplain with the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency and a host of the radio show, “Let’s Go”. He evangelizes by sharing his testimony and loving people with simple, basic methods of sharing the gospel. Content Summary Fay begins his book by describing the state of evangelism in churches today. In the brief first two chapters, Fay explains that Christians can not fail if they will just share their faith. It is the sharing itself that is our success, not the expected outcome (Fay, 3). Fay describes the vast majority of Christians that are guilty of committing what he calls the sin of silence. He expresses the need for Christians to be excited about their relationship with Christ and to share their faith (Fay, 7). In one story that Fay tells, a woman who is in adultery, surrenders her life to Christ and goes back to her husband asking for forgiveness. Two days later the woman’s husband contacts Fay to tell him something was different about his wife and that he wanted what she had (Fay, 10-11). Mindful that not everyone will receive...

Then have them color and signed their names without looking, and after they finish doing this, have them take the plate from their heads and look at what they wrote and color. Tell them, this is what happens when we allow God to take charge of our lives. His Spirit enters and changes and rearranges their thought process and the way they use to do things. They will have no desire to go places they use to go, and sometimes they will lose some friends. Paul wrote this letter about A.D. 57 while he was in Corinth preparing to visit Rome. This letter emphasizes the foundation of the Christian faith. It gives clear everyday instruction for Christian beliefs and how they should behave in accordance with their faith. ...“The Good Life” My personal experience has proven to me the existence of “The Good Life,” prospers in the presence of Jesus Christ. Seeking God through the Holy Spirit and following His lead in daily tasks proves to be the overcoming credential needed to annihilate trials and tribulations. Progressing while moving and having our being in Jesus Christ fulfills and exhibits grace and mercy to others with an uplifting exertion of energy that motivates one to live as He lived and walk as He walked. My purpose is to definitely be a mirror of Christ spreading His image and likeness along life’s journey. Although I have failed miserably in the past, God has never left me nor forsaken me. My eyes that wander at any given time to the ways of the world tend to place me in the magnetic field of selfish desires. My wandering from truth has taught me a deeper understanding of the richness that cannot be bought or labored to accomplish. Doing life my way creates voids of misfortune and hurt which fill my baggage with past memories attempting to take up residence in my heart and rule my mind with uncertainty. My only hope is to take up my cross daily and lay it at the feet of Jesus Christ trusting in Him to fill me with His mind and understanding for my daily bread. The structure of faith He creates in my life in daily fellowship through meditation and prayer lets me know if I think I am standing firm, I must be careful that I don’t fall because there is no temptation that has overtaken...

...STEPS TO CHRIST SUMMARY. The Son of God came from Heaven to make manifest the Father. God, the Father, sent His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him should have eternal life. Jesus `earthly mission was to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, preach deliverance to the captives and recovering the sight of the blind. Love, mercy and compassion were revealed in every act of His life. He became a man of sorrow. Before sin, man held a joyful communion with God but after sin he could no longer find joy in holiness. There must be a power working from within before a man can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is before a man can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ. Through Christ, the earth is given again connected to Heaven and the only way to God is through Christ. True repentance is a gift from God. We must ask God to renew us a heart that longs for purity and righteousness. Only Jesus can make us free from our sins. He is ready to set us free from our sins and guilt. Suppose you have confessed our sins and chose to put them out of your life. Now you need to go to Jesus and ask Him to wash away your sins. Over and over again God reminds us of the beautiful things He wants us to believe. His promise to forgive our sins is for real and true. If we are truly Christ`s, we think often about Him. We want to be like Him and have His spirit in us. We may fall but God does not go away from us nor leave us alone. One benefit of belonging...

JOHNNY BAKER IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COURSE PACO 507 D01 BY BEN CURTIS BARKLEY SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2014 I. SUMMARY 1. Primary goal (What is the desired outcome?) The primary goal of the author is to allow people to be free to worship and serve God better. In short the author wants to show the reader how to move from the mindset of “I want to be happy,” to a mindset of trying to be more like Christ (Crabb, 22). 2. Development of problems and personal need (How do the issues come about?) The author states that people have two primary needs. These needs are significance and security with secondary being acquired needs. Acquired needs are those that meet a primary need (Crabb, 112). The problem rises to the surface when any of these needs are not met. The author states there are three types of obstacles that interfere with achieving a chosen goal. They are Unreachable Goals, External Circumstances, and Fear of Failure (Crabb, 125). 3. Biblical integration (How much of the Bible is used in this methodology?) The author clearly states that anything that is anti-God in methodology should be rejected. However, there are different types of approaches, “separate but equal (where psychology and biblical teaching are equivalent);” “tossed salad...

...of Evangelism Tim Fouse-Clark Liberty University Online The Romans Road Summary of the Method – According to Earley and Wheeler, “the Romans Road to Salvation is a way of explaining the good news of salvation using verses from the book of Romans (Wheeler). The way that my church explained it to me is that were 5 steps: 1. There is a problem: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:3, NIV). Explain that we are all sinners and that there are none except God that are righteous. 2. The problem comes with a price: “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:23). Since we are sinners, we are deserving of punishment in hell. 3. Payment of the price was paid by Christ’s sacrifice: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8). As propitiation for our sin, Christ took it all on His shoulders and died for us. 4. The prayer that leads to salvation: “if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom 10:9, 13). You need to believe it in your heart and exclaim it with your mouth. 5. Salvation through Jesus leaves us justified: “Therefore, there is now no condemantion for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Rom 8:1). We have been made new, as if we have never sinned. After the...

...Breaker By Dr. Neil T. Anderson Concise Summary of Theory In his book, “The Bondage Breaker,” Neil T. Anderson seeks to reveal the why’s and how’s of spiritual warfare and exposes the many tricks Satan uses to take over the minds of many Christians. His tricks include outright lies, deception, and the lure of knowledge and power. Dr. Andersons approach differs greatly from the models we have studied previously in this class as he presents a theoretical model for overcoming negative thoughts, habitual sins and irrational feelings (Anderson, 2000). As well, Anderson seeks to clarify the nature of spiritual conflicts and offers a plan as to how they can be resolved through the power of Jesus name. Satan does not have equal power with God as he has been disarmed and is already a defeated foe, but if he can deceive people into believing he has equal power, than he wins. Anderson (2000) states, “You have been given authority over the kingdom of darkness, but if you don’t believe it and exercise it, it’s as if you didn’t have it” (Anderson, 1993, p. 80). All in all, Christians must believe and understand that Christ died on the cross to set them free, so therefore, they are no longer a product of their sinful past. Dr. Anderson offers a seven-step process in helping Christians find freedom in Christ (Anderson, pgs. 201-252). Step 1: “Counterfeit vs. Real” is where an individual must renounce any activity or group which denies Jesus Christ or offers guidance through any source...

...Blalock Liberty University Online The Romans Road Summary of Method – The Romans Road is a method of evangelism and is considered an intellectual method. It is a plan of salvation that utilizes various verses derived from the book of Romans. These verses are often memorized and used by evangelists to form a cohesive explanation of the need of salvation. Advantages of Using This Method – There are several advantages to the Romans Road method. One is that it is an easy way to explain and share the Gospel. These various verses, when put together, depict a clear and easy presentation. Another advantage is that it very much Biblically based. In explaining salvation, it is literally using Scripture in sharing the faith. Disadvantages of Using This Method – One disadvantage is the fact that all of the sources in this method are Scripture. While this is a great thing in reality, for a non-Christian who does not assume the Bible to be God’s word, it can come across as less credible from his/her perspective. The Romans Road method is a path to salvation and clearly uses Scripture as support and sources. This method has the potential of leading into a discussion on the credibility of the Bible, which can become off topic in leading someone to Christ. In other words, for a non-believer who wants to refute the word of God, it can potentially become a distraction from the discussion of salvation. Lifestyle Evangelism Summary of Method – Lifestyle evangelism is a method of evangelism...
