Eat clean, be strong is the title of my ad that describes women in numerous ways. Jean Kilbourne mentions many information regarding woman in the ads in her recent film named “Killing Us Softly 4”. First of all she mentions Americans are exposed to over 3000 brands a day on average, which is a tremendous number. Kilbourne states in advertising, all that matters is looks. She gives many examples of that in ads using women's bodies, hair, skin, and also their size. Also, women are then given a stereotype. Positive stereotypes such as their body, tan skin color, being tall, are all rewarding. Negative stereotypes also impact women, such as being short, weak, boring, ugly, and quiet. The woman named Meaghan Terzis looks absolutely gorgeous, even if she is a mom. Kilbourne mentions that women want to look skinny with a nice body, just like this ad shows. Also, her skin color is amazing, matching her hair. The product wants the readers to think they can turn out like that woman looks if they take this supplement. The beautiful colorful scene in the background makes the ad look peaceful, as the girl looks like she is relaxing. Furthermore the green and nature goes with being healthy. Many people associate green with being healthy in the current world. The product wants you to take only healthy materials in the supplement, in order to keep you healthy. Appearance is one subject of the ad, but the text means a lot more. The text “eat clean, be strong” means a lot in this ad. The stereotype of women being weak is disapproved in this ad. This ad will gain a lot more consumers because woman wants to feel like they can get more power or be stronger. As the woman’s name is shown, with the titles “model” and “mother of two”, that can change a lot in the consumer. A cover model gives the thought of the consumers they can become a cover model just like her, only if you take this supplement. After they put the mother of two, more moms will be attracted to this ad. Especially since women have trouble after producing a baby with weight and appearance. Many women after having a child are looking at her amazed about her body after birth. The text at the bottom shows that women want different things with this supplement. It says help cleanse and detoxify, which leads women to be healthier, and want to more importantly look better. Women that want to look better could take this product for results. This reinforces the stereotypes of woman wanting to look like a model. Also the stereotype of sex is included in this ad. As it says it will improve stamina.
