INTRODUCTION

Stress and how it affects people at work has become the subject of large interest. A lot of evidence suggests that the stress associated with work is often the main cause of heart disease, stomach ulcers, migraines and mental disorders. They have very important consequences for organisational behavior of employees, their personal and family life.

FINDINGS

2.1 STRESSORS
Stress is a word, which is used in almost every day. Most often we use it to describe the cause of discomfort, caused by a specific life situation. However, these situations are not stress in themselves. For example, loss of a job, the prospect of being unemployed, may expose us to stress and other life's difficult events. Interestingly, these are not only bad events, but all of them, after which our life looks different than before. This is the first group of stressors which are easier to recognise. The second are the situations of daily life, little things, but acting on us constantly for a long time. It is more difficult to recognise them and harder to do something with them.

In simplest definition, we can say that stress is a reaction of a person to the tensions in their life.

When we look at the steps, under which the stress response, we observe three main stages: 1. Th alarm stage - appears at the moment of danger. In a short period of time body has to adapt to reject the danger, or to avoid it. The situtation assessed as a danger, causes the release of adrenaline and noradrenaline into the blood by the adrenal cortex. The consistent effect of this hormones has increased impact on the efficiency of individual body organs. The changes in the body are referred as the biochemical mechanism of emergency.
2. The adaptation stage - the phase of overcoming difficulties. The alarm mechanism prepares the body to fight the threat/danger. It requires a high efficiency of the

To achieve the most positive image, written reports must be prepared carefully and presented forcefully. To prepare an excellent report, Clippinger (1995, 11-12) suggest five equally vital steps that must be taken in the order listed: (1) plan; (2) draft; (3) revise; (4) edit; (5) format. Plan the Report To plan, ask: What is my purpose for writing, and what is the reader’s purpose for reading what I write? The answers become the core of the message. Compose and key the core idea. ...Managers engage in different ways to manage their earnings. They take on a specific pattern depending on the economic condition or their characteristic – that is, whether they are risk-averse or not. In the next few slides, I will describe four different patterns of earnings management: taking a bath, income minimization, income maximization, and income smoothing. Taking a Bath pattern can take place during period of organizational stress or when a company is undergoing major reorganization. In this pattern, managers feel that if they must report a loss, they might as well “clear the decks” and report a large one. They do so by writing-off assets in order to provide for future costs. Because of accrual reversal, this enhances the probability of future reported profits. The next pattern is Income Minimization. This is similar to Taking a Bath but it’s less extreme. Firms going through periods of high profitability usually take on such a pattern. Policies that suggest income minimization include rapid write-offs of capital and intangible assets and expensing A&P and research & development expenditures.
