...ECommerce (AugDec 2009) Term Paper Name: MANILA M V Roll No: CS08M028 Title: ThreeDimensional Password for More Secure Authentication Goal The goal is to design a multi factor authentication scheme that combines the the various authentication scheme into a single 3D virtual environment which results in a larger password space. The design of 3D virtual environment, the selection of object inside the environment, and the object type reflect the resulted password space. User have freedom to select whether the 3D password will be solely recall, recognition, or token based, or combination of two schemes or more. Brief Description of the System The proposed system is a multi factor authentication scheme. It can combine all existing authentication schemes into a single 3D virtual environment. This 3D virtual environment contains several objects or items with which the user can interact. The user is presented with this 3D virtual environment where the user navigates and interacts with various objects. The sequence of actions and interactions toward the objects inside the 3D environment constructs the user’s 3D password. The 3D password can combine most existing authentication schemes such as textual passwords, graphical passwords, and various types of biometrics into a 3D virtual environment. The choice of what authentication schemes will be part of the user's 3D password reflects the user's preferences and...

Under the TRIPS Agreement, countries are under no obligation to extend protection to a particular geographical indication unless that geographical indication is protected in the country of its origin. Prior to 2003, India did not protect geographical indications of Indian origin. In order to comply with India's obligations in the TRIPS Agreement, it enacted the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration & Protection) Act, 1999, which came into force with effect from 15th September 2003. The present geographical indications regime in India is governed by the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration & Protection) Act, 1999 and the Geographical Indication of Goods (Regulation and Protection) Rules, 2002. By registering a geographical indication in India, the rights holder can prevent unauthorized use of the registered geographical indication by others and promote economic prosperity of producers of goods produced in a particular region. ...Registries are a category that use more detailed secondary data from patients’ medical records. Registries are usually clarified by health statuses of patients, diseases, conditions, or procedures. Registries inform healthcare professionals of availability and responses of patients on different methods of treatments. The information helps healthcare professionals in choosing the best treatment options to improve patients’ conditions. For example, cancer registries were developed with the need to collect information in studying the diseases to improve diagnoses and treatments of cancers. Hospital-based registries and population-based registries are two major types of registries for cancers. Hospital-based registries are developed for administrative information and clinical researches with the purposes of improving patients’ care. The populations-based registries have the goals of cancers prevention and finding the methods for early detection of cancers. They are also used for finding the rates and trends of different types of cancers as well as the results of health outcomes of divergent treatment methods. Population-based registries mainly use for researches in controlling of cancers (Oach, 2016, pp. 174-175). The Uniform Hospital Discharge Data Set (UHDDS), issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, is used to report standardized short-term inpatient care data to Medicare, Medicaid, and some commercial insurances for reimbursement reasons. UHDDS contains reported...

...udent registration system1. Abstract The creation and management of accurate, up-to-date information regarding a student’s academic career is critically important in the management of a university. Previously, the University used to rely heavily on paper records for this initiative. This proposal focuses on the design and implementation of a comprehensive student management system and user interface to replace the current paper records. This system will have a staff user interface and student user interface, allowing users to access information and submit requests electronically. The system features to track all users’ access and ensure conformity to data access guidelines. This system is expected to increase the efficiency of the university’s record management , decreasing the work hours needed to access and deliver student records to users throughout the day, and again later to file these records. It is anticipated that this system will increase the efficiency of the department, and allow staff to better serve students. 2. Domain Description Organization Profile and Operations COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) started its journey with the establishment of its first campus at Islamabad in April 1998. In August 2000, in recognition of CIIT's achievements, the Federal Government granted it the status of a Degree Awarding Institute (DAI) through promulgation of its charter. ...STUDENT RESUME/ACTIVITY LIST A resume or list of extracurricular activities can go a long way with an admissions committee. Taking the time to add extra components to the application shows conscientious effort on the student's part to create the best possible impression. It is also impressive because it shows that a student is genuinely interested in the school. However, be sure to fill out the application entirely—use the resume to give a deeper picture of where your interests lie. This resume will also help to simplify and bring attention to your scholarship applications. Most students simply create chronological lists of their extracurricular accomplishments. Big mistake! This is a section where you can really set yourself apart from other applicants by employing a little strategy. Anyone can be a member of the Key Club, but not anyone can start an adult literacy program or become the assistant manager at Wayne's Weenie World. The key to making your extracurricular activities stand out within the limited space of the application form is to focus on leadership. But before you can do this, you first need to make a list of all your extracurricular activities, summer activities, and jobs. List everything big and small. Significant and insignificant. Don't forget that extracurricular activities include experiences like teaching all those hyper kids at Sunday School, whacking the ball around on the ping pong team, playing the triangle in band, leading a sit-in against...

...really an accurate depiction of who has a certain number of voters supporting them. The purpose for Angelique’s phone banking operation was to get in touch with the community and notify them that she is a mayoral candidate. Also she wanted us to tally up how many citizens were confirming that they were going to vote for her, in an attempt to get an estimated number of supporters backing her during the election. The phone banking operation took place in a meeting room with a capacity of about a dozen people that was located in a living complex in Natomas, California. The campaign provided three to four prepaid phones, a voter registration list providing names and numbers of registered voters in our area, a script that also had information about Ashby’s key achievements and goals, a tally sheet, writing utensils and snacks. The room was filled with student volunteers from our government class as well as a supervisor. There were two...

...provide voter registration forms to residents seeking public assistance, like food stamps and Medicaid. The suit claims Georgia has been engaging in statewide noncompliance with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA) Section 7. It contends the state has deprived thousands of low-income Georgia citizens the opportunity to vote. In 2007-2008, Georgia public assistance offices received 21,762 voter registration applications a 79 percent drop since 1995-96 (Fleishman, 2004). Section 7 of the NVRA requires that all public assistance offices, in states subject to the NVRA, distribute a voter registration application with each application for public assistance, and each recertification, renewal, or change of address relating to an individual’s receipt of public assistance. It further mandates that all public assistance offices in a covered state assist clients in completing a voter registration application (unless a client declines such assistance), provide a form that asks clients whether they wish to register to vote and includes certain specified information concerning the voter registration process, and accept completed voter registration forms for delivery to the appropriate elections authority. Defendant Brian Kemp, Georgia Secretary of State and “chief elections official,” is responsible for ensuring Georgia’s compliance with the NVRA, including Section 7, and did not fulfilled his responsibilities for ensuring that Georgia provides the voter registration services...

...“Arizona County gives wrong election date in Spanish voter cards” The Arizona Democratic Party is calling for a meeting with the Maricopa County Recorder following an error in relationship with the approaching election, the Maricopa County’s elections office says that they mailed out just about 2 million new voter registration cards, and that only about 50 of the cards, apparently handed out at the receptions of their offices had an error. The mistake in the voter cards was that the incorrect election date was printed on the mailer that comes with your voter ID that you punch out. The error was only made in the Spanish voter cards (and supposedly in only 50 of those cards), but of course some people is concerned it will cause voters to show up on the incorrect day, the county still alleging that this will only affect and involve a few dozen cards, but the people calling for the meeting aren’t convinced that this issue is not more widespread. This issue is likely to further complicate tense relations between local authorities and Latino residents References Article Ed Payne, M. M. (2012, October 18). Cable news network. [0]. ...Enter the Age of Internet Voting Voting has changed drastically since the beginning of humanity. Some of these changes have been for the better, and others have been fraudulent. The first form of voting originated in Ancient Athens where Greeks would use small balls to vote. A white ball would be cast in favor of a candidate or a topic and a black ball would be cast to vote against someone or something. This is where the term black balled came from (Glenco). Then a couple thousand or so years later came paper ballots, lever machines, punch cards, optical scans, and touch screens. The three most well known ways of voting are by optical scanners, punch cards, and touch screens. In which touch-screens are the most dominant in America Today. There have been major incidents with all of these machines that have caused doubt about whether the results are truly accurate or a miscalculation. The best way to solve this problem is to no longer use any by optical scanners, punch cards, or touch screens and make voting possible online. Internet voting seems like the most logical answer to the current problems faced by these machines and punch cards. It is also possible to have internet voting while ensuring that the votes are accurate. New voting technologies tend to emerge out of crises of confidence as seen prominently in the 2000 presidential election. We only rarely change systems and in response to a public anxiety that electoral results can no longer be trusted. There have...

...Tania Hutchins Civics and Economics Honors Leah Tonissen March 10, 2015 Increasing the Current Approval Rating For Congress In today’s society, our approval ratings for Congress are extremely low. According to Congressional Performance, Congress’ current approval rating started off as 16% in the year of 2015, and it is now at 18%. Although this is an increase, many of today’s Americans are not satisfied with congress and their ideas, how they handle the different situations we are in, or how they run our country. The amount of dissatisfaction with the government stems from the fact that there are officials in congress who are appointed versus being elected, public opinion is not being surveyed enough, and also, voter turnout also has depreciated significantly due to these things. According to You Can’t Vote Everyone in Congress Out. So, What Can You Do, 60 percent of those polled would “replace almost every member in the house, including from their own state,” in the next election if they could. This is due to the fact that many of the officials in the government are appointed, and those that aren’t appointed, vote and select other officials or judges into high positions that have to do with citizen’s daily lives. This does not demonstrate accurate representation of the people because although the people appointed into congress are usually appointed by an official the people voted for, it is not a direct relationship which lessens the amount of approval...

...It’s Election Day! (Does Anyone Really Care?) John F. Kennedy once said that “The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all.” When I ran across this quote I realized that today is Election Day in Massachusetts and many local voters were heading to the polls to select new leadership. Now it’s a known fact that local voter turnout is never very high. We see more middle-aged citizens and the elderly turning out for these elections which, based on the information presented in our discussion question, is about 20-30% of registered voters. But how does this tie-in to the quote. I am in agreement that a low voter turn-out is not necessarily a bad thing. These voters usually represent those voters who are knowledgeable about the issues at hand and want to see the best person for the job get elected. But does this continuous process yield a better outcome as a whole. The populace needs to be educated about the issues and understand what they are voting for. If people tend to vote on blind faith or, worse, emotion, it is an ignorant and potentially costly move for us all. In order for communities as a whole to bind together and elect the right people for the job, they must take the time and energy to get involved and to become educated on the important issues that are affecting them and their families. The question was asked in our discussion as to what kind of a program we could devise to not only increase voter turn-out but to educate the...
