Right now, the piece of technology you are using to read this essay has probably helped you tremendously in more ways than one. You use it to look things up, write papers, research, maybe even look at social media. But it may not be the best thing for you in the long run. In an article called Is Google Making Us Stupid by Nicholas Carr, published in The Atlantic online magazine, talks about the ways google and other forms of technology have hurt the way people think. It tells of historical events, current worldwide companies, and the authors own views to show those negative aspects of technology.
Technology has been sold to the world as a tool that is brilliant and amazing, and something that can helps so many people. While that may be true, it doesn’t tell the whole story on what technology can do to a person.
