Identifying a strategy is the first step in a supply chain management strategy so that is where we start. There are many options when selecting a strategy that will work best for our market and each strategy has advantages as well as disadvantages. No matter what type of strategy we chose we will face the same main question of if we should make the parts for our product or buy them. By choosing to make them we would chose a vertical integration strategy where we buy the suppliers and take over the management of more or perhaps all of the supply chain.
