Sustainable development of globalization

The positive view of the effects of globalization is surrounding the world, because it raised the awareness between cultures. Globalization is partly a result of the huge advances in technology, which linked all parts of the world and helped to expand the capitalist of productions. It shows the world is much smaller place, so there must be a positive impact in people aspects of the effects of globalization. In contrast, Cultures and environment represent the negative side of globalization, because it affects the pollution in water, land and air. Also it consumes metals such as iron, petrol, gas etc. Generally, the problem of globalization is using resources and environmental systems fast, which makes worry about the future life. Because we are living in environmental limits in the world, we will face some challenges to provide sustainable developments to protect local cultures and environment in globalization.

Sustainable development is a process to provide people needs, while keep preventing the sources for future generations, although globalization lead for utilizing all kinds of resources to burden the planet of earth. Therefore, all government are working to get sustainable development to let the world getting all best interest in long-term, because the goal of sustainable development is to enable all people in the world to satisfy and enjoy their basic needs with good quality, excluding the life quality of future generations.

Within sustainable development, we can observe the protection of local cultures and environment. First thing, sustainable development helps to protect and respect local cultures. Culture includes language, ideas, values and beliefs. “Culture is thus realm of sensibility, of emotion and moral temper, and of the intelligence, which seeks to order these feelings.” (Dehesa, 2006, p.170). However, globalization may adapt by cultures or values more than others, which makes a problem for culture. That’s what we call it the cultural conflict between local cultural values and democratic world in the globalization. US are great example of influence on local cultures.

Media globalization, especially US media such as TV, has ever greater influence throughout the world, which forced by technology and deregulation policies, that led to have hurried globalization. Media affected on every local culture in Europe and Asia. Also English language can use much wider than other languages. “Globalization is hastening the process by which English is becoming the world’s primary language of communication. More than 800 million people know use English as first or second language.” (Dehesa, 200, p.167). English language use is spreading faster than any other language, therefore media and English language impact on other local cultures.

In a result, Improving and supporting is the role of sustainable development. It will protect cultures form losing their identity. Sustainable development is a balance between globalization and identity of cultures. It will work efficiently with social pressure, because of its ability to resist most bad impacts of globalization.

Secondly, Sustainable development is able to protect the environment. It’s controlled by governments who put rules and regulations to limit utilizing resources by organizations and factories, so they control on consuming forests, petrol, water etc. Governments recognize the challenges to the attainment of sustainable development, such as balancing and planning in agriculture to enables farmers to enhance the value and productivity of their land, and ensure a property rights as mean to provide sustainable forest management .An example of problems, which sustainable development faces challenges on, is “Deforestation. The agricultural practices in developing countries are still relatively primitive, depending largely on bush-fallow cultivation, with the repeat clearing burning of shrub and forest to make room for food crops. Equally significant is the deforestation arising from the need for firewood.” (Haun, 2006, p.177). However, governments have to provide all best interests for public by balancing the usage of resources, and establish training and research programs to improve the technology such as, agricultural technology to emphasize environment protection. Also they should give studies on consumptions to provide information and statistics about the needs of future generations.

Organizations have to deal with environment as “values”, which have to be followed. They also have to share working to preserve the environment, like to share sponsorship of an environment. For instance, Qatar petroleum is a sponsorship of Ras Lafan coast, to ensure appropriate atmosphere for turtles to get best life and protect the coast form pollutions.
In general, governments should promote publics participation in decision-making for sustainable development, and organization collaboration projects to reduce impacts on the environment, and give lectures to enhance the knowledge of public.

Finally, will be able to maintain to protect and sustain other generations? The only answer is that there should be an exchange of experiences and information among governments and society to apply improvement of sustainable development programs. Using technology well is a part of improving sustainable development to protect both local culture and environment, by sharing and leading of government to feel of values and beliefs in each culture, and poor people who are living in their environment and loosing green areas day by day!
