Ta- Nehisi Coates speech was very influential and eye opening. He spoke on topics I am either discussing in class or at home with my friends. One thing that stuck out to me is when Mr. Coates said, “we don’t all look at things the same way”. When talking about anything I always believe my view is the only one but that is not correct. When I am discussing race I believe everyone is thinking like me. I’ve struggled with listening to others up until now because now I like to hear what everyone else is thinking. By doing this I am able to educate others while they educate me. exactly what Coates is doing with his books and articles. Mr. Coates read a section of his book and with reading this section he talked about the protection of your body.
