Comparison and Contrast Between Ultrabooks and Tablets

...Comparison and Contrast between Ultrabooks and Tablets Thesis Statement Ultrabook PCs are superior to Tablet PCs based on comparison of market positioning, design concept, growth rate in sales and research and development of manufacturer. Introduction In modern time, computers have become an essential tool to assist people in dealing with their complicate lives and satisfying their fast footstep. To conveniently carry computers and efficiently use them in daily work, increasingly people pursue portability, utility and fashion. So Tablets and Ultrabooks are“born” at the right moment. In order to promote laptops, many manufacturers always campaign on the slogan "it is an Ultrabook" on the margins of Ultrabooks. So in 2011, Intel corporation conceived an Ultrabook and defined as “an Ultrabook ” is a mini notebook computer designed to provide similar or superior computing functionality as that of a standard laptop but with less size, weight and an extended battery life”. Now, the term has extended to refer to a new category of notebook computers that sits somewhere between lightweight laptops and Tablets. However, Tablets and Ultrabooks are obviously different. A Tablet computer, or simply Tablet, is a mobile computer with display, circuitry and battery in a single unit. We know that Tablets are often equipped with sensors, including cameras, microphones and touchscreens, and with finger or stylus gestures replacing computer mouse and keyboard. In this thesis, I will explain...

Multi Unit Pellet System

...unit pellet tablets/multiple unit particulate or pellet system commonly called MUPS. These are composed of polymer coated subunits namely pellets; which are embedded in an inert excipients matrix designed to overcome the difficulties in administering capsules and improved physico-chemical stability compared to suspensions. The functional coating like drug coating, barrier coating, enteric polymer coating is usually applied in a fluid bed coating processor provides each subunit with the characteristic desired drug release properties. The size, shape and surface morphology of the pellets to be coated are the prerequisites for coating of pellets. Design of MUPS involves formulating pellets by different techniques and further compression of these pellets into rapidly disintegrating tablets; disintegrate rapidly in the oral cavity for the delivery of coated pellets into the gastrointestinal tract or the site of release of the drug. In spite of the challenges like content uniformity of the compressed tablets, ability of the film to withstand compression force. MUPS occupy a prominent role in formulating drugs due to their greater patient compliance, process, formulation and therapeutic advantages. A design principle of increasing importance for sustained, controlled, delayed, site specific or pulsatile release preparations is the compaction of coated particles into disintegrating multiple unit tablets. One challenge in the production of disintegrating multiple unit tablets is maintaining...

Pharmacology

...as viscosity, hydration capacity, swelling capacity, moisture sorption capacity, pH, flow rate and porosity, Carr’s index and Hausner’s ratio were evaluated. The powders passed the identification and solubility tests as required by the BP. Rice starch showed the least Carr’s index, Hausner’s ratio, porosity, moisture sorption capacity and the greatest flow rate. Rice starch also showed the highest hydration capacity and swelling capacity. The results obtained showed that among the three starches in relation to their flowability, rice starch possesses the best flow property. This knowledge of starch properties will help explain the behaviour of these starches when used as tablet excipients. Key words: Maize, rice, wheat, starch, pharmaceutical excipients. cassava starches could be used as tablet disintegrant....

The Tablet

...THE TABLET With two hands grasping a thin stone tablet, Priam struggled to leap into the tree in complete silence. The branch swayed under his weight and rustled its leaves. Priam froze. Too much noise! Too much! He drew himself rigid. He refused to breathe. His heart hammered within his chest. He was close now, the tall gray mass peeking from the breaks in the leaves. His senses heightened as if he were hunting, but his knees trembled, his breaths shortened and grew louder against his will, and his instincts told him to flee. But Priam battled his instinct and sprang into the final tree. Priam perched upon a branch near the edge of the forest, eyes wide. Priam would not release his tablet, he never wished to abandon it from his strong grip, so he lowered himself onto the branch with one foot and swung the other over the branch until he sat with his legs dangling below him. The wall had not fled. And he could watch it. It was an enormous gray mass, climbing high into the sky so Priam could only see it through the canopy if he ventured to the thinnest edge of the forest. The wall never darted into its land of the Others, those that had driven his people into the forest long ago. Yet it threatened Priam, to flee, to disappear, to leave him alone. So Priam skulked toward it every time as not to awake it from its slumber. He had been successful today, and he could breathe again. As he stared at the wall, he lifted the tablet before him, his tongue wagging from the side of his mouth...

Cmps 111 Critical Thinking Tablet Comparison

...I am doing my essay on tablets. Tablets, for the most part, have taken over the laptop market. They are light, extremely portable, and can do most everyday laptop functions. The three devices I will be reviewing and comparing are the IPad Air from Apple, the Galaxy Tab S from Samsung and the Surface Pro 3 Windows Tab from Microsoft. These three tablets are some of the best in their class. I chose these three since they run on three different operating systems. The IPad Air runs on the iOS 7.1.1. The Galaxy tab runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. And the Surface Pro3 on the Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS. AS far as which is better, that really is a matter of preference to the user. Depending on what the tablet will be used for will really matter on what system is right for you. I use my tablet for internet use, mobile entertainment and as a better option for a laptop while traveling. I need my tablet to be light, easy to use and capable of doing basic document creation. Cost is a big factor. I already own a couple laptops so this tablet is really a luxury item for me. I use it as a convenient alternative to a laptop while traveling. The Surface Pro 3 is a bit too large and bulky and while ideal for document creation it lacks in the app availability of the other two tablets. While I like the keyboard that the Surface pro offers, it is an additional $130 dollars. It is already almost three times the price of the other two tablets. The Surface Pro simply out prices...

Technology and How Oits Changing Us

...What is technology doing to and for us? Sitting on the playground with a tablet avoiding a couple kids; playing with jump ropes, draw with chalk on the ground, playing hop scotch, teeter totter and swinging on the monkey bars. A seven-year-old boy is playing basketball on the tablet and when asked by his friend to come play basketball on the court. He reply’s “I don’t wanna, I’m playing on my tablet.” In schools, students are learning skills that they will need to carry them through life and to find jobs. Schools use technology more and more everyday to teach kids and relate to them. Kids are allowed to bring their own devices to class such as tablets, Ipads, and Mini Laptops and use applications that the teacher may require them to. Clearly, technology is becoming increasingly essential to learning. Students with basic academic skills improve with the use of everyday technology. With the speed of technology solving problems is becoming achievable at a faster pace. A good example of that is finding out about schools closing during bad weather. You can have an email sent to you, or even a text message sent to your mobile device, letting know if you have class. Performing school tasks as in writing research papers, finding out your grades for the semester, and submitting work is so much easier. For example flipping through pages to find a word in the dictionary while looking over it once or twice became easier. Now, you can type it in online and in seconds...

Business Use of Tablets

...Business Use of Tablets In a society that is dominated by smart phones, laptops, computers and other various forms of technology, perhaps the most recent and developed device that has taken the world by storm is the tablet. Many people feel that a cell phone is limited in its abilities, and who wants to purchase a laptop that is two to three times the size and price of a tablet? A tablet is functional, reasonably priced, and a perfect device for an extremely wide spread demographic group. The amount of individuals that can benefit from the use of a tablet is large enough in itself, but adding to this list beyond individual use is rather simple. Many businesses and corporations have jumped on the tablet bandwagon, and for good reason. They increase efficiency, are optimal forms of communication, and are extremely effective in allowing certain tasks to be completed in a more professional and rapid manor. Of course, there would be an extremely detailed and confusing way to describe how tablets work, but there is also quite a simple explanation as well. Tablets are a bigger, faster, and more functional version of a smart phone. At the same time, they are smaller, lass expensive, but not as widely efficient as laptops and computers. They enable you to video chat, work on documents, have access to your email, take pictures, use various applications for entertainment purposes, and much more. You can surf the Internet, check your stock prices, tell what the weather will be for the...

Future Statements

On society as a whole, tablets are saving us time, money and overall making our lives easier. Schools are implementing tablets in students’ lives, making learning easier, saving tax dollars. In the work place, it is saving us time, money and energy. Employees are accessing information/documentation from the office everywhere they go. In the home, the tablets are easing our minds and making our lives easier by the touch of finger.
