...A coccyx injury is pain and discomfort in the tailbone area also known as coccydynia. These injuries result in a bruise, dislocation, or a break of the coccyx. The healing process is slow but a majority of coccyx injuries can be manageable with at home treatment. The coccyx is a triangular bony structure located at the bottom of the spine. It is composed of three to five bone like segments that are held in place by joints and ligaments. A fall onto the tailbone is the most common cause of coccyx injuries. A direct blow to the tailbone, such as those that occur during contact sports, can injure the coccyx. The coccyx can be injured or fractured during childbirth. Repetitive straining or friction against the coccyx (as happens in bicycling or rowing) can injure the coccyx. Severe localized pain and tenderness felt in the tailbone area. Discoloration of the coccyx. The pain is generally worse when sitting or with direct pressure to the tailbone area. Bowel movements are often painful. Rest and stop any physical activity that causes pain. The more you rest, the quicker the injury can heal. Ice your tailbone for about 20 minutes every hour for the firt 2 days then 2 to 3 times a day. DO NOT apply ice directly to the skin. Use a cushion when sitting. Avoid sitting a lot. When sleeping, lie on your stomach to take pressure off your tailbone. Massaging the muscles attached to the tailbone might help ease pain. An injection of a local anesthetic into the tailbone can relieve pain for...

...LD CCloud computing refers to the provision of computational resources on demand via a network. Cloud computing can be compared to the supply of electricity and gas, or the provision of telephone, television and postal services. All of these services are presented to the users in a simple way that is easy to understand without the users needing to know how the services are provided. This simplified view is called an abstraction. Similarly, cloud computing offers computer application developers and users an abstract view of services that simplifies and ignores much of the details and inner workings. A provider's offering of abstracted Internet services is often called The Cloud. The key characteristic of cloud computing is that the computing is "in the cloud" i.e. the processing (and the related data) is not in a specified, known or static place(s). This is in contrast to a model in which the processing takes place in one or more specific servers that are known. All the other concepts mentioned are supplementary or complementary to this concept. Example: Microsoft Windows Azure The Windows Azure platform is a flexible cloud–computing platform that lets you focus on solving business problems and addressing customer needs. No need to invest upfront on expensive infrastructure. Pay only for what you use, scale up when you need capacity and pull it back when you don’t. We handle all the patches and maintenance — all in a secure environment with over 99.9% uptime. ...

...Tapan, Elaine Joyce C. Tapan 1 English 10 March 17, 2015 From Best to Worst Fairy Tail is an on-going Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. The story revolves around the adventures of a magic guild named Fairy Tail—one of the foremost magic guilds in the land of Fiore. This is a shounen manga (aimed at a young male audience) and has several other genres such as action, adventure, comedy and fantasy. It has been published in Weekly Shounen Magazine since August 2, 2006. The volumes are released by Kodansha since December 15, 2006 and at present it has already 47 volumes. It also has an anime adaptation which started broadcasting in TV Tokyo on October 12, 2009. Fairy Tail is considered one of the mainstream manga and anime nowadays. It even has a Filipino dubbed version. (Fairy Tail Wiki) Although it is loved by many manga and anime enthusiast, there are several flaws I noticed when I read and watched it. These bothering flaws made me stop anticipating its weekly update. Years ago, this was my most favorite of all. But not anymore. Fairy Tail is one of the worst anime I have ever known. How was I able to have a hundred and eighty degree turn? There are three main reasons why. Reason number one: The animation and illustration have been inconsistent. The manga did not retain its old illustration. In the first few chapters, characters appeared more mature because of the sharp lines and pointed shapes. At present, their appearances changed into Tapan...

...Facts: Barry would like to transfer his property to his wife, Lucy to avoid being vulnerable to creditors. He would like his three heirs to equally inherit the property after his and his wife’s death. Issue: Can Barry convey his property to Lucy and still be assured that the children will obtain the intended interest? How should this be conveyed? What interests should he give to whom? What kind of remainder interests and tenancies should he give to the children? What type of deed is necessary for this conveyance? Rule: The Rule in Shelley’s Case states that a remainder interest cannot be created in the heirs of the holder of the present interest. The theory behind it is that a person should be able to decide what his or her own heirs will inherit and should not have that decision dictated by a grantor of property. The rule has been abolished in most states. The Doctrine of Worthier Title dictates that a grantor cannot create a remainder interest in his own heirs. The idea behind this rule is that a grantor should rather keep a reversion for himself and then distribute the property to his heirs through the normal inheritance methods. The Doctrine of Worthier Title has been abolished in some states, but still exists as law in many other states Analysis: Since Barry doesn’t want the property in his name due to his financial situation, following the Doctrine of Worthier Title idea of keeping the reversion for himself is not a sensible option. The Rule in Shelly’s Case has...

...find that this app provides a high quality 3D model (the mortise-and-tenon joint in books are two dimensional drawings) to view the 27 classical mortise-and-tenon joint structures broken down into their composite parts. The first thought that occurred to me was that creativity comes from our “big questions” which lead us toward our purpose. The big question of the designer of the app started with the influence of his father who used to make the furniture by himself. He started to ask himself, “How can I use computer technology to gain a clear perspective of the classical mortise-and-tenon joint structures?” After 6 months of preparation and hard work, his team accomplished the dream. Actually, the app is a good example of the long tail effect. According to statistics, the number of downloads of the app exceeded 160,000 after 20 days of its release. The mortise-and-tenon technique is able to attract wide interest using social networking service though it’s only a hard-to-find item in a niche market, as in the case of many traditional crafts. However, the biggest problem is that “wood...

...Carlisle IT Part Number Selection Structure Phillip Reynolds PRG/211 Novermber 5, 2012 Jack Warner Carlisle IT Selection Structure in Part Selection Module In order to create a successful program the importance of the analysis and design stages of the program development cycle cannot be overstated. After an in depth look at the problem and analysis of the problem it has led to the first stages of product design. The project is on schedule and an example of the programs functions and use of control structures will be introduced as we discuss the program updates. Part Number Input Module One of the major functions of the program will not only be footage production, which will be discussed in later program development reports but also part number tracking. Tracking what part number is ran within each run will provide a historical database for analysis providing improved inventory control procedures. The data will be tracked as currently tracked on paper but stored digitally into a database. This process can be realized within the program by the utilization of control structures and iteration control structures. Control Structures As discussed within (Venit & Drake, 2011) a selection control structure gives a computer the ability to take a defensive stance against incorrect data, which forces users to enter valid data as the input. Selection control structures additionally offer users the ability to make a decision within a...

...portion of a dog’s tail is cut off. I understand that it is done to working dogs for various reasons. Such as working terriers need their tails docked so that they are not injured in the field when they are pulled out of holes, such as foxholes, by their tails. But over the years, it has become the norm for certain breeds of dogs, just because. I believe that cropping and docking non-working dogs should be banned. It is painful or inhumane to put any dog through a cropping or docking procedure. The basics of the cropping procedure are first the dog is sedated, because what comes next is painful. Then part of the ears are cut off, which includes cutting through the many nerves in the ears. The edges of the ears are stitched to stop the bleeding. The ears are then stretched straight and bound to keep them in the position that is desired. The dog is then sent home with pain meds, as this will hurt them for a while. After about two weeks the stitches are removed. Finally, after around 7 weeks the ears are unbound. So I don’t see why anyone would put a dog through that without a valid reason. I can’t find any humane reason for pet owners to crop or dock their non-working dogs. There is too much medical risk involved in cropping and docking to justify putting a dog through the procedure. There is a great risk of infection, or if, for example, the ear is bound too tight after the procedure, the ear could lose circulation and have to be completely amputated. If the tail gets infected...

...define this probability as the value of this ratio as n tends to infinity [4] Of course, you may be surprised to learn that this is the wrong answer as the coin could land on its edge if left to land on a hard surface. If you Google ‘coin landing on its edge’ you will find that the chance of this happening is thought to be about 1 in 6000 (but we don’t really know!): so the true probabilities of ‘head’ and ‘tail’ are around 0.4999166 and of‘ edge’ around 0.000166667. How much would you pay for a gamble where you win £0 for ‘tails’ and £10 for ‘heads’ but lose your entire family’s wealth if it lands on the edge? Still £3 - £6? [5] Listen to his May 2011 podcast about the feeling of risk http://ihrrblog.org/2011/05/27/prof-paul-slovic-the-feeling-of-risk/ where he talks about the research described in the rest of this lecture. Interesting? [6] “The affect heuristic is a swift, involuntary response to a stimulus that speeds up the time it takes to process information. Researchers have found that if we have pleasant feelings about something, we see the benefits as high and the risks as low, and vice versa. As such, the affect heuristic behaves as a first and fast response mechanism in decision-making”...

...VALUE AT RISK VaR is a predictive (ex-ante) tool used to prevent portfolio managers from exceeding risk tolerances that have been developed in the portfolio policies at a certain confidence level under normal market conditions. The usual holding periods are one day or one month. The confidence level is intuitively a reliability measure that expresses the accuracy of the result. The higher the confidence level, the more likely we expect VaR to approach its true value or to be within a pre-specified interval. Analytical VaR is also called Parametric VaR because one of its fundamental assumptions is that the return distribution belongs to a family of parametric distributions such as the normal or the lognormal distributions. Analytical VaR can simply be expressed as: | | where: * VaRα is the estimated VaR at the confidence level 100 × (1 - α)%. * xα is the left-tail α percentile of a normal distribution . xα is described in the expression where R is the expected return. In order for VaR to be meaningful, we generally choose a confidence level of 95% or 99%. xα is generally negative. * P is the marked-to-market value of the portfolio. Objectives of VaR measurement * It facilitate risk reporting and control decisions. * The simplicity of VAR measurement greatly facilitated dealers’ reporting of risks to senior managers and directors. * VAR also proves useful in dealers’ risk control efforts. * Commercial banks, use VAR measures to quantify...

...Services by Louwers, Ramsay, Sinason and Strawser. Tad Miller Classical Variables Sampling LEARNING OBJECTIVE Understand the basic process underlying classical variables sampling in an audit examination. When performing substantive procedures, one approach is classical variables sampling. Classical variables sampling methods use normal distribution theory and the Central Limit Theorem to provide a range estimate of the account balance. The auditor uses the sample estimates to determine whether the account balance is fairly stated. The Central Limit Theorem indicates larger sample sizes provide a sampling distribution that more closely reflects a normal distribution. Therefore, larger sample sizes will yield a lower level of sampling risk. In this section, we briefly illustrate mean-per-unit classical variables sampling. We illustrate the manual calculations necessary to determine sample size and evaluate sample results. However, if clients maintain records in electronic format, auditors typically use computer software to perform these tasks. Classical Variables Sampling: Planning In the planning stages of classical variables sampling, the auditor determines the objective of sampling, defines the attribute of interest, and defines the population. We will utilize the basic information from Rice, Inc.'s accounts receivable introduced in the previous section. Recall that Rice's accounts receivable are comprised of 1,505 individual customer accounts which are recorded at...

...differences between moral hazard, morale hazard and physical hazard In short, Moral hazard is a hazard dealing with the difference between right and wrong while a moral hazards is a hazard dealing with people's attitudes. It also refer to the characters of individuals related to the property ( eg: the owners) that can increase the chance of loss. example : conditions resulting from a weakness of human character (when someone should know the difference between right and wrong), such as embezzlement. Morale hazard is a closely related to moral hazards it refer to the indifferent attitudes of individuals related to the property because of the pre sence of insurance policy. examples : conditions resulting from a person's indifferent attitude toward a loss when a property of exposure is insured, such as failing to lock the doors or roll up the windows of your car or leaving valuables in plain sight in your car . . .especially during the holiday season. Physical hazards refer to the physical features that can lead to an increase in the chance of loss from certain perils. examples : According to poor brakes and engine problem in heavy rains can nause road accidents.
