The Temple of Jupiter also know as the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus was the main religious centre of Pompeii. Sitting on top of the Capitoline Hill, the temple was dedicated to the god of light and sky Jupiter, his wife and sister Juno, and his daughter Minerva. Used for praising gods, it was seen as the heart of the Roman culture. This temple, begun to be built by Tarquinius Priscus and finished by his son Tarquinius Superbus, was built to praise god's.
