Technology Use Today By: Anthony Kirk

We all know that technology has changed over the years with Facebook, Twitter, Smartphones and plenty more. The only problem is all this technology has changed us too. Most kids refuse to go to outside because their “too busy” trying to finish their game or set a new high score online. There is this place with real grass and actual sky instead of a bunch of megapixels being put together to create fake ground. I mean seriously, do they even know what grass feels like anymore? I have two younger cousins and let me say, video games are their life. If they see a new game in an advertisement on TV its all, “Mom, Mom, Mom I absolutely need this new Pokémon game, like look at it NEW Pokémon are on this game.” Instead of playing video games you could easily have just as much fun on the playground or on your bikes, but no kids are too attached to their games to notice the world.

Kids aren’t the worst with all the new technology though, it’s the teens that are most effected. All those gossip girls standing in their circle on their phones not even talking to each other. Why even bother being together if your too busy texting someone else to pay attention to everyone around you? Then theirs that one friend you have on Facebook who is constantly ranting on and on about how life sucks, or how their friends are SO mean to them. I mean just shut up no one wants to hear for the millionth time that life sucks for you. If you want so much attention then why don’t you just talk to people? It really isn’t that complicated to move your lips and speak words. Whiners like that can get attention so easily with people constantly pressing the “like” button. If people would just stop pressing that button all these attention seeking losers wouldn’t even exist.

The parents don’t even understand what technology is doing to their kids. They never go outside, all they ever do is just sit on their couches getting fat clutching their game controller eating the month old chips from the cupboard. Teenagers are trapped in the world of Social Media not wanting to leave the house because their crush might message them over Facebook. Oh My Gosh, nobody cares. Instead of Facebook there’s this great thing that’s called talking face to face. I know it sounds crazy but it really works. Instead of using your fingers to type and send messages to a random photo and name, you can move your lips and talk to their real face. Technology has changed everybody in the world and not really for the better. Like Oh My Gosh what is wrong with you guys being all weird because of technology? LOL.
Although there are many benefits to using a smartphone is it really worth it? Many people will text many things that they would never actually say to a person’s face, which can make Cyber bullying worse. A lot of teenagers aren’t aware of the predators on the internet and their “friend” they made online claiming to be a 14 year old boy could really just be a 50 year old man. Most teenagers barely ever go outside anymore because they are too busy on their cell phones. Without the use of this technology we wouldn’t have all these people faking who they are all over social media and ruining other people’s lives.
The use of technology has increased a lot over the years and it’s gotten to the point where you’ll rarely look down the street and see someone not owning something to access social media. The constant use of this technology has caused a change in the way people act in society. Fake social media accounts, the drama involved by Facebook, younger children not enjoying the outdoors are all caused by this change in technology and how it’s influenced society.
