...Halloween Costume Contest As October wraps up, we end the month by celebrating Halloween, and what better way to celebrate the spooky season by holding a costume contest? Every year, Mac holds a contest to see who is dressed to the very best in four different categories: best spooky/scary costume, funniest costume, most creative, and finally best group costume. This year, we’ve seen many very interesting costume choices from the contestants. Three contestants were competing for the title of spookiest costume, including a group of people from The Purge, the Russian Mafia, and the winner who named his costume, “your worst nightmare”. Now the winner for the funniest costume category seems to be a bit controversial, as the winners were dressed...

...Aymee Gonzalez Professor Susan Malmo HUM205 23 July 2016 Major Filmmaker and Major Works: Name of Filmmaker and Works Mel Brooks Biographical Information Brooks was born Melvin James Kaminsky on June 28, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York. His father's family were Jews from Danzig, Germany (present-day Gdańsk, Poland); his mother's family were Jews from Kyiv, in the Pale of Settlement of the Russian Empire (present-day Ukraine). He had three older brothers: Irving, Lenny, and Bernie. Brooks' father died of kidney disease at 34 when Brooks was two years old.He has said of his father's death, "there's an outrage there. I may be angry at God, or at the world, for that. And I'm sure a lot of my comedy is based on anger and hostility. Growing up in Williamsburg, I learned to clothe it in comedy to spare myself problems—like a punch in the face." In middle age, Brooks became one of the most successful film directors of the 1970s, Brooks started working in various Borscht Belt resorts and nightclubs in the Catskill Mountains as a drummer and pianist. Around this time, he changed his professional name to "Mel Brooks" (from his mother's maiden name Brookman) after being confused with the Borscht Belt trumpet player Max Kaminsky. After a regular comic at one of the nightclubs was too sick to perform one night, Brooks started working as a stand-up comic, telling jokes and doing movie-star impressions. He also began acting in summer stock in Red Bank, New Jersey, and did some radio work....

...The Soul has Finally be set Free (Someone you know you has passed away) Robin Williams was the greatest and the funniest actor that this world has ever seen. He was able to make people cry have them laugh their butts off at something that wasn’t really all that funny, made awesome characters and just entertained all. Sadly he passed away, by suicide, hanging himself in the closet and writing a note that he was leaving this world. It was a very sad and depressing day that Robin Williams passed but his legacy lives on within our hearts and within the movies. This world hasn't been the same when he left, we no longer have that distinctive voice that he had, can’t call him the geniene no more and can’t compliment him on a new movie that...

...the honor roll and the other was to become a better writer. Both goals were achieved. Seventh grade has ended up being so much more than I expected. One of my favorite classes in seventh grade was Academics in Action. In this class we were given some fun assignments like the movie poster assignment and a movie script group project. In this class, Mr. Beard told us about the time that his projector caught fire and it was one of the funniest stories I had ever heard from a teacher. Two other classes that I have truly enjoyed this year are Social Studies and Art. I remember when in the production of our greek drama, my group members and I ran...

...I recently went and saw the play Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson written by Michael Friedman. I must say that this play was the funniest, and most entertaining play I have ever seen. The plot of this play is to take a rockstar, modern twist on the original story of President Andrew Jackson’s life. The play begins with Andrew Jackson’s parents dying of cholera, a deadly disease that killed many people in the late 1800s. After this life changing event, a young Andrew Jackson, a rock star cowboy in too tight jeans, joins the military to serve his country. Whilst serving in the military, Jackson gets kidnapped by the british, which causes him to have hatred towards the American government. Later on in Jackson’s life, he finds love...

...Mrs Brawner is the most electrified teacher anyone could possibly have. She always made sure to make sure that we the students understood the lesson no matter what it was. Any time you had a question she made sure she gave you an answer. When ever someone or I was being bullied she would always be there for you and make things right. She always went beyond the ordinary as a teacher which makes her the best. Also Mrs. Brawer is one of the most funniest people I have ever met. For example, she would be in the middle of teaching and a few kids would be talking loudly out in the hallway walking past the classroom and she would go and let them know that she has a class and she is trying to teach. Or if someone was talking in the middle of class and when she would have to tell them time after time to stop, she would look at them dead in the eye and say “out in the hall” and the way she said it would just make you want to laugh all day. Or when someone wouldn’t raise their hand to ask her a question she would say louder than them “Any Questions” and would put on the biggest smile on her face I have ever seen. Or when she would almost trip over someone’s back pack she would look at that person and say “Move your book bag before I fall over it.” Mrs Brawner has influenced my life in so many ways that I never new were possible. All that I can say is THANK YOU Mrs. Brawner for having a positive effect on my life. Sincerely, Chris Carnahan East Chambers High...

...the Novel, “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian,” by Sherman Alexei, the two characters I choose was Junior and Rowdy. Junior was a poor cartoonist drawer growing up in Spokane Indian reservation. Junior and Rowdy lived in a town name Rez. While, Rowdy was Junior’s strong best friend. Rowdy protected Junior when he got bullied. When Junior transferred to different school in Reardan, Rowdy started hating Junior for that so they became enemies from best friend. I think these two were the funniest guys in the novel because they did some crazy things together. This novel made me feel different emotions such as laugh, worried and sad. The novel made me laugh because Junior was a funny guy. Junior made funny cartoons, and also used funny quotes in the book such as, ‘I was born with water on the brain.” This quote was the first sentence of the novel. The novel also made me worried when Junior went all white people school. He didn’t know anyone there and especially there were no Indians there. I thought he was going to get beat up by white people but I don’t think that happened. I think he punched a white guy on the face. The novel also made me sad because Junior’s grandma, his dad’s best friend and his sister died in terrible accidents. This was the tragic part of the book and especially for Junior. The three events that I think are important to novel are when Junior has a basketball game versus Rowdy and his old school, he got pushed and was taken to the hospital...

... Over the course of seven seasons, viewers of the show have seen great changes to the characters, but they retain the initial qualities that made them beloved from the first season. Josh Radnor plays the main character, Ted Mosby. Ted is an architect living in an apartment in New York City with his roommate from college, Marshall Eriksen, played by Jason Segel, and his girlfriend Lily, played by Alyson Hannigan. On one of Barney and Ted’s bar-scene adventures, Ted meets the girl of his dreams, Robin Scherbatsky, played by Cobie Smulders. Ted can be easily described as a helpless romantic. ...My Life As I Know It 3 As I sit here and think about what to write down on this paper, I came to the conclusion that everyone has their own perspective on what their life was like. My life was no where perfect. I lived in a home with one parent, my life was a struggle. However, as I grown as an adult I have learned the importance of a good education and being a positive, supportive parent to my children as my mother was with me. My mother was a hard working parent, raising three children all on her own. My dad walked out of our life when I was 7 years old. My mom would struggle to make end meet, she only made $250 a week, that wasn’t enough to feed a family of four and pay bills as well. But, she was a strong woman; she didn’t let that stop her, my mother picked up another job to help us get by. There were many of times we hardly ever saw my mother, my oldest brother Ricky who was 11 years old at the time, help my mother out by watching me and my little brother while she worked. I can remember it like yesterday, before she would leave for work, she would call us down to the table and say “make sure you eat all your food before leaving today, because a starving brain will not function properly. Today I make sure I send my children off to school with a good breakfast and positive message each morning to start their day out right. To me it’s important to stay positive because when children see and hear positive thing they tend to be positive as well. Some of the most...
