...their lives, and right now you’re probably thinking, “Where is this kid going with this?” Well, I excel in two things, being pro, and being a boss. Being pro is the ability to be more than amateur, and being a boss is better than being an employee. People like to say that they are a boss with no real reasoning behind it, but I’m here to tell you I’m no sham, I am indeed, a boss. I run things around here, when people need something done they come up to me and say, “Hey boss, I need something done” and I just say “What’s up, or what’s that? Sounds like I already finished it.” That’s how expediently I tend to matters of importance. Another boos like quality I have obtained over the years is the ability to build things. Not just material buildings, but social pyramids can be constructed at my will. I run my lunch table and the order that they go about their business, where they’re located and even who gets to talk in what order. Also I can build an elevator, BAM. I would like to close my boss qualities with the fact that I’m a boss because all my b*tches love me, you aint f*cking with my dougie. I am a pro. What am I pro at? “Everything” so say Mrs. Trotter of Hays High School. I’m a pro at all things ranging from sports to Pokémon, and face it, who doesn’t love Pokémon? I’m so pro that people often times ask me how I can possibly maintain my pro status. It’s quite a trivial question for you see, I was born a pro. Talent like mine can’t be made or earned;...

...Can BOSS tune to their SUBORDINATES? -Presentation on Mckinsey Article-Why good bosses tune in to their people- by Robert Sutton Difference Between YOU and BOSS When you take a long time, you're slow. When your boss takes a long time, he's thorough. When you don't do it, you're lazy. When your boss doesn't do it, he's too busy. When you make a mistake, you're an idiot. When your boss makes a mistake, he's only human. When doing something without being told, you're overstepping your authority. When your boss does the same thing, that's initiative. When you take a stand, you're being pig-headed. When your boss does it, he's being firm. Difference Between YOU and BOSS When you overlooked a rule of ettiquette, you're being rude. When your boss skips a few rules, he's being original. When you please your boss, you're arse-creeping. When your boss pleases his boss, he's being co-operative. When you're out of the office, you're wandering around. When your boss is out of the office, he's on business. When you're on a day off sick, you're always sick. When your boss has a day off sick, he must be very ill. When you apply for leave, you must be going for an interview. When your boss applies for leave, it's because he's overworked. Daily Prayer of Employee Give me the wisdom to UNDERSTAND my BOSS Give me the Love to FORGIVE him Give me the Patience to UNDERSTAND his deeds But Dearest GOD……………. Don’t give me the...

... In spite of this, my Program Manager does not operate in excellence. When, I think about her being grandfathered into management, not having a degree and possibly feeling insecure about managing Counselor’s with degree’s; it bothers me that her male manager is laissez-fair. Mind you, the community I work in has a high turn-over rate, due to lower salaries than other programs and the challenging nature of the position. Nevertheless, employees must possess a Bachelor’s degree; yet, room for advancement is very slim. The program needs Residential Counselor’s to oversee the day to day responsibilities of its residents and ensure compliance of court orders. Thesis Paragraph The population is mostly African American, inner city youth who struggle with Bipolar Disease, ADHD; the trauma of molestation, rape, abusive backgrounds, absent parents, foster care, etc., in addition, the residents are all on medication and lack coping skills. In other words, when my Program Manager was hired 25 years ago; her Baltimore culture fit perfect with the population. At that time; she had a passion for transforming the lives of our troubled youth. I believe she used to have a passion for managing; I think her passion has died out. In addition, to her boss being...

...awesome. I’ve wondered since day one how in the world they are doing this. How are you a profitable company, low to no turn over rate, and make changes and no one makes a negative sound? I’ve come to the conclusion that my work’s change management initiative utilizes the coaching and nurturing images; the leaders that they have chosen for the organization uses these images impeccably. I consider myself to be the perfect example of my organization supporting the coaching and nurturing images. I am currently an administrative assistant in a hospital. I report directly to the Director of HIM and I support her boss on a daily basis who is a CTO; needless to say I am “rubbing some mighty high elbows”. I was sent to them via a staffing agency, I had absolutely no desire to be an admin and absolutely no experience, not to mention I was terribly intimidated; but they wanted me...

...morals and values are much stricter than others, but nonetheless we all have them. After being hired at my new job three years ago, I was faced with an ethical dilemma that forced me to challenge my own values as well as the company’s values. I had been working for my present employer for about two months. I loved my job, the people I worked with were great, and the company was very supportive of all the employees. I was truly as if I had finally found the place for me. My new boss was awesome; no other words could describe her. She made work fun and also taught me a tremendous amount about banking within those first two months. I will never forget that Friday afternoon when everything would suddenly change. One of my co-workers approached me with a question about loyalty. Would I be loyal to a friend or to my company if I were to have to choose? This was a hard question for me to answer; I wanted to be loyal to both. In this situation there was no way that I could, she explained. My co-worker has suspicions that our boss might be stealing from the bank. This changed things for me. It was no longer a question of who to be loyal to, this came down to what was right and wrong. It was not as black and white to my co-worker; she had been very close friends with our boss for many years. If she told on our boss their friendship may be over, but if she did not tell it would be as if she was stealing as well. I offered her a solution; we would investigate ourselves to see if her suspicions...

...situation B, I chose working with my boss. The highest score I had from the entire assessment was a 23 for Accommodation styles utilized with my boss. My lowest score was a 13 which was on Collaboration styles with my sister. I had relatively static scores throughout the assessment, but I am extremely accommodating with my boss, and less inclined to work with my sister. I think these are pretty normal aspects, as most people should be accommodating of their boss or else they could lose their job. However, I feel that being accommodating does not necessarily mean suppressing my own emotions or needs when it comes to work. I feel that I have a close relationship with my boss, but accommodation is typically utilized out of respect. I think I scored so high on accommodation strictly because of the nature of the working relationship. My sister scored a 15 on accommodation. I feel less inclined to make accommodations for her, give her the benefit of the doubt, or satisfy her expectations. I did my sister’s score in the competition and compromise style was relatively high. I definitely use my influence in the household to get my ideas accepted, and use my authority in the house to make a decision in my favor. I think that I have a general lack of consideration for her, and I have a habit of returning that when I feel that she displays it with me. I realize that an appropriate way to resolve the conflict, or improve relations. On the other hand, my boss scored a 13 on competition styles...

...Well, I didn’t quit. It was worse than that. It was the middle of a meeting. I was bored out of my mind. Plus I was nervous because my new boss told me “don’t worry about it” when I asked about a raise. “Don’t worry about it” means “**** you.” And my leg hurt. I had fallen the day before on the way to my lunch with my work friends. So in the middle of the meeting, I excused myself for the bathroom. I limped out. I said goodbye to the receptionist. I didn’t take my coat, my bag, or any of books. My name might still be on my door. I took the elevator 49 floors down. I went up to Grand Central, took the train 70 miles north. I never went back to work. They tried calling me and emailing me. Even many years later I got an email from the boss saying, “we’d still love to have you”. I never responded to any of the emails or calls, even that last one. You can judge me. It wasn’t the most ethical way to leave a job. And I’m not very good at confrontation. But sometimes it’s too much. Sometimes all the BS adds up until you can’t move anymore, until you can’t get out of bed. What’s so bad, honey?... says my imaginary friend who loves me every day. A) For every dollar of value I create, 50-80 percent of it is eaten by the boss or his boss, or his boss, or some machine. B) For every dollar I take home, 40 percent is taken by the government, 10 percent is taken by healthcare, and another few percent is taken by transportation to work. C) I was deluded into...

During the same week, we were cleaning up our area and shredding unnecessary and old documents. After a few weeks, the application was already missing. After finding out that the documents were missing, I was faced with the dilemma of either completely blaming my assistant as solely accountable for losing the documents or taking responsibility for my subordinate and informing my boss that our team lost the document.
