In a book by Reynolds Price (A Palpable God; Thirty Stories Translated from the Bible), Price identifies why many people including himself believe the information provided to them in the bible. Price goes on to say “The sketch of an evolution omits the force which mythologies posit as crucial—the desire of Gods to be known by man, the pressure of transcendent relation upon creatures who must then narrate or strangle in awe.
