Intro: OPINION (no) * A turning point is: a time at which a decisive change in a situation occurs, especially one with beneficial results. specific, significant moment when something begins to change * I disagree because the famine had devastating effects on the people of Ireland Catholic Emancipation: Granted virtually full civil and political rights to Roman Catholics, which meant they could now become MP’s and could occupy the highest positions in the state How was it a turning point? * Opened the door to the possibility of a Catholic-controlled Ireland * Blow to the ‘Protestant Ascendancy’s’ monopoly on power as it opened up opportunities for Catholic advancement in politics, professions and government service. * led to the rise of the Irish tenant farmers as a powerful voice for change ( a desire for Home Rule) * Enabled Catholics to hold public office. Outline the three most important points – in your opinion – in the Chief Executive’s Strategy Review [pages 14-18] * Giving an overall image of the growth of their products and services, such as fixed and mobile lines, data, unified and M2M communication, is very important to show to the shareholders, which result in maintaining them or even acquiring new shareholders. * I think showing the future Vodafone is moving to is also important, such as the implementation of project spring. Because it will help to predict its position in the future, supporting the shareholders to continue investing with the company. * In the last paragraph, the Chief Executive sets the standards of the shareholders by declaring that the cash flow will remain ‘depressed’, but it is all for the sake of increasing the dividend per share. Bessokirnaia The Dynamics of Workers’ Values and Labor Motives (2003–2007) Research on workers in Russia shows that attitudes toward work are strongly influenced by conditions in the workplace, and that this is the case for both males and females. The dynamics of the core values of everyday activities and labor motives of Moscow workers in the 1990s [1], and changes in the basic life values and motives of workers in the period 1990–2003 [2], were the subject of studies the author conducted in collaboration with V.D. Patrushev [3, pp. 77–99], to whose memory I dedicate this article. The present author carried out a comparative analysis of the basic life values and labor motives of workers in Pskov in 1995–2007 [4]. This article presents the results of the analysis of the dynamics of the values and labor motives of workers during a relatively stable period of the development of Russian society, during a period of economic growth. The surveys of workers were carried out in the same machine-building plants in Briansk, Pskov, and Kirov in 2003 and 2007.1 All three cities are oblast centers of regions that, according to the classification devised English translation © 2011 M.E. ...While reading “Columbus, The Indians, and Human Progress” I noticed that I was agreeing with what the author was saying most of the time. His points were very interesting, and well established. Although, he only really had one main point; what was done to the Indians should be told, it is an important part of history that most historians skip over or touch on very little. “[Morison] does not omit the story of mass murder...he mentions the truth quickly and goes on to other things…” (8). I agree with the author because he believes that a historian can choose not to emphasize something when it is not a necessity. Even if the mass murder of The Indians was not important to the historian, it is a very important part of how we got here today, how...

... Diabetes Power Point at QCP This diabetes power point was presented at an adult community center in Queens, New York called QCP. This power point highlights the importance of educating yourself on disease and more specifically diabetes. Unlike other diseases that can be managed using only medication, diabetes requires day to day knowledge of the disease including nutrition, exercise and different levels of medication. Type II diabetes can also come on later in life based on diet and exercise or lack thereof. Therefore this power point presentation was important to help people understand how to deal with diabetes and how to prevent diabetes. This teaching plan includes education for both prevention and management of the disease. The power point presentation first describes what type of disease that diabetes is and what exactly the symptoms are. The teaching plan goes on to discuss the three different types of diabetes including Type I, Type II and gestational diabetes. Following along the teaching plan teaches how diabetes is diagnosed and what type of symptoms people have when they have diabetes. This helps people better understand the disease and what their symptoms mean and what causes it. The teaching plan is careful to differentiate between pre-diabetes and diabetes to make sure that people understand the difference before they experience the full blown disease. My teaching plan includes simple learning devices to help the audience remember important facts including the...

In a sales position, communication takes on a greater importance because there always a constant interaction with other people that takes place where a sales associate must be able to present the facts and persuade customers to buy whatever it is they are selling. The audience of any communication is the engaged or possible critic or critics. One gets used to one’s communication skills to match to the requirements, distresses, and background of the critics who will be following the piece of work. It is important to anticipate the informational necessities of the audience, so that as the talker, one can deliver the sort and amount of entropy in a manner that most efficaciously conveys one’s concepts to the followers. One of the most important concerns is just how much cognition, knowledge, or lessons one can anticipate in the followers.
