...Values those are most important to me. Values are something that is important in life. Values can’t be exchanged in any way or form. Everyone has something that they value and of course that includes me as well. A value is something that a specific person or groups respects and affectively regards it as something important in their life. An example would be my values, I, personally, have many values. Some of my most important values consist of my family, my ethnicity and my memories. Something that I value the most would be my family. Family means a lot for me because no matter what happens, my family would always be there for me. Life would be really different if I didn’t have the family that I have now. In my family, I am taught that no matter what difficulties I have to face, my family would always be there and support me. They taught me many things about life that I would take with me for the rest of my life. No matter how many good friends you have, they will never be there for you forever, but family will always be there for you. Not everyone has a perfect family; therefore, I must appreciate what I have now because not everyone is as lucky as me to have a family that cares for each other through out all the different circumstances. Another very important value of mine would be my ethnicity. Ethnicity is very important for it describes me. Due to the fact that I am born Asian American, I was brought up to what I am today. ...My Life Getting Organized I started my career in business as an unorganized individual who procrastinated as much as possible. I recently made a change to my life and the way I took charge in my daily activities. Before this class I started to un-clutter my life slowly but with this class I believe that it will help me get organized in every aspect of my life. I learned that there are many things that I can do to make my time efficient and the steps that I can make to stay organized. The first thing that I learned from the class is “Make room in your life for things that are most important to you”. The most important thing to me is my family and friends. I will start to make a balance between work and my life. I will take trips with my family and enjoy the time that I have with my friends on occasions. The next thing that is important to me is my health. I just made a change in my life by starting to exercise on a daily routine for at least thirty minutes a day. Also, I bought the bowflex tread climber so I really don’t have an excuse not to work out every day. The third thing that I believe is important to me is my religion. For the last month, my husband and I have been praying at home and we are trying to get in the habit of praying every night. The next thing that I believe that will help me out is giving my undivided attention to the task at hand. Many times in my life I try to multi-task and certain times it works but a lot of times I get jumbled up...

...of the good life. Depending your rich or poor, there are many aspects. Some people say money is the key to a good life, but I do not think that. The age means something, but I have my opinion and have my own examples, and I will tell you, and can only speak for my self. From childhood you need good solicitous parents. If you have good parents, it has good effects on you, but if you have bad parents that don’t care about you, it will have negative effects on you and your future. Of course, that’s not a rule, but in most cases that will be the chance. My parents raised me well and have always loved me, and I love them too. If your life has to be good, you always need some resistance from your parents, so it isn’t all sugar in your childhood. Resistance will surely be good for you. My parents always there to support me. Support is very important for your life no matter your 5 years old or 60 years old. They have been there to support and guide me, whether it is badminton, school or any other problems. So it’s very important to have parents, and most important, parents that supports and guides me. Then you grow up and gets older. You start in school and get a lot of friends hopefully. I see the school as a important thing for your life, why that is the way to build up a good education, so you can have a job when your finishing school. For people who do not blow up, education is the same as a bright future. Friends are probably the most important things for your life. If your have...

...I think that overall life is a grand mystery where we all at some point wish to find our purpose and meaning of life. I believe the substance of life is spiritual for most people but I’m somewhat indecisive. It is kind of hard to determine if I believe in God because it is what was taught, or do I believe in a higher spiritual being to cope with life. Belief in a God is common and different religions praise different forms of God. God is frequently called the ultimate judge, with equal attributes to supernatural powers. This creates a debate in those that are judgmental. It allows developing behavior to be based on new principles of right and wrong. Behavior that deviates might otherwise be blocked out by the sensibilities that the majority finds justification and fellowship in a new group who can appeal to the authority of their god. People believe in god because it feels good, satisfying the natural desire for validation of their thoughts and acts. God is easier to convey as a behavior enforcer than group will, so it finds endless application as a social bond. Voltaire has long been quoted, "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him”. Deism supports a belief in God, but a God who does not uphold the moral values we feel he should. It explains a logical question that I ponder on often, which is suffering. For me it makes it hard to swallow the notion that God would allow certain events to happen in life. Recently I have been looking into the Egyptian religion...

...My Family Have you ever influenced by some important people that helped you be the person that you are today? I have. The people that have had influence on me are the most important people, my family. But before I begin talking about my family, I want to show to you the place that me and my family spend most of the time together which also means something important to me and my family. This place is called the family room. This room is small but beautiful. It is painted in white and has three windows decorated with beautiful curtains. By the windows you can see a nice view of some beautiful trees and a nice park across street. On the walls there are family photos like the ones that show where my brother and I were born. The other one is my graduation photo. Some family member photos like my grandparents, and some paintings made by my brother. So this is our room, which is very important to us and has a lot of special things, but the most special part of this room is when it brings my family together. I could begin the story of my life with a picture of my parents. They are important because they helped in my development. Also, my parents gave me the things that I needed to grow up in the moment that I needed and they still gave me everything that I needed to become someone important in the future. Beside these things is the education that I have gained all in my life. My basic needs like food, clothes, medicine, a place to live, and the most important thing...

...Determination Even though life gets in the way, personal responsibility is the way that I can take charge of my life. As an individual I am accountable for everything that I do because I am the only person that can determine how successful I will be in college and the workplace. Only through my determination and hard work can I steer toward accomplishing my goals that I have set for myself. It is important to keep my expectations realistic and achievable while setting the bar high enough to keep life interesting. My personal responsibility and accountability can be controlled and maintained by good time management and organization. I can manage my time by dividing up my days to work on my days to fit in time for God, my family, work and my education. By setting a specific time that I am going to work on my studies, I should be able to concentrate on the work without too much stress and neglecting my duties as a mother. Simply having the tools for school available when I need them will help me keep me on track with my education and all that it entails. Organization is already a huge part of my life because when I am organized with my time, job, and home, I find it much easier to relax. Prioritizing everyday activities at home such as laundry, working in the yard, and general household duties help me allocate my time to the things that are most important. So often, life presents us with things that “need” to be done but we always have things that we “want” to get done...

...From my perspective of life, I can say there are several things that makes me unique. Every step I take in my life, and each moment that goes by makes me unique. It’s fair to say, everything that happens either it is good or bad, is a learning lesson to make me stronger. In fact, there are other things in my life that give me the strength to go on such as my family, my church life, music, electronics, and most of all my grandmother in her absence. In fact, each day that passes by and I examine my symbols, they allow me to love myself even more and building in me the confidence that I need to conquer the day. ...At the age of twenty one, I made one of the most difficult, important and critical decisions of my life. I felt that it was time for me for start to live new experiences and to live by my own, so I decided to leave my house despite of the negatives response that I received from my family. Anyway, I left home and I set my destination far away of my family and my country. At a short age I took the responsibility of taking care of myself and ensure my future. Although I was very difficult, I was able to overcome the situation. This experience showed me that the most important in life is to make your own right decisions in order to be happy. I truly believe that the most meaningful thing that I did in my life was to move by myself and take my own responsibilities, because of many reasons; I reached maturity, I was capable to survive by myself, and I learned that I was able to do anything that I can imagine. I was so young when I decided to leave my home and family. At the age of twenty one I was facing many hard times trying to get out from the adolescence, plus trying to survive by myself and be ready to live in the real world with real challenges. Youngers at this state are capable to make important decision like what to do with their future or what is the best for them, but I have to recognize that in my case I didn’t have many options to choose. The most important thing in my life at that stage of my life was to have a place to live and to have something to eat. One day to another...

...Caroline Myss once said “Always go with the choice that scares you the most, because that is the one that is going to help you grow.” Life is scary itself. As you get older you experience many things throughout life and wonder why things happen. Everyday we are judged for being ourselves; having a loud laugh, not fashionable, etc. We live in a free country, but yet we get judged by our actions on the daily. We should be able to express ourselves and not worry about the others judging us. Communicating to each other and a little bit of humor wouldn't hurt every once in a while would it? “The land of the free and home to the brave.” I am very thankful to call the United States my home. It gives many races a chance to better themselves, and also a better life. I am so gratified that I am able to go to school and get the education I need. It's not everyday you hear that, but what if we lived in a country like China, that picked what you did? Our government would be extremely strict on everything we did, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we wanted as individuals. Think of things we wouldn't be able to do if we weren't a free country? I may not be able to give my opinion, hangout with my friends, or communicate with other individuals. It's the little things that matter....

...There are many things I would want some guidance on from Morrie. I would keep death, aging, marriage, family, society, and forgiveness on my list for Morrie. I think death, and aging are things that I would have a hard time with because nobody likes to think about death, but getting older is also something most people try to avoid. I want to know what it’s like to know you are going to die soon. I also want to how to accept, and face aging because it seems like it is something we all fear. That brings up my next question for him, why do we fear aging? Marriage and family is the next area I would ask Morrie about. Morrie always talks about how important marriage is, but I want to know why he feels so strongly about this, and maybe some advice on how to have a long, happy marriage like his. Our society has drastically changed from Morrie’s generation where family was everything. Now it seems like family gets pushed to the side due to all of our busy lives. I would want Morrie to give his thoughts on why our society has moved in this direction, and how we let this happen. My final topics for Morrie are society, and forgiveness. Morrie doesn’t buy into our society, and I think it would be good to learn why because it seems like everyone else does. Why do we give in to society would be another question on my list. Morrie seems to be very forgiving, and what I want from Morrie is to learn him art of forgiving, but most importantly how to not hold grudges. Overall my list is just a shortened...

...There are so many things that are important to me, but only a few that could greatly affect my life if I didn’t have or accomplish them. The biggest things to me are success, family, and freedom. These are all things that are essential to my life in so many different aspects. The most important thing to me is success; it’s a thing I must have. Success can mean a lot of different things to different people; it just depends on the person. Success to me is a business standpoint; I have so many goals I’ve set for myself business and financial wise, success comes to me in those ways. In order for me to feel like I’ve actually succeeded in life I must reach these goals. If I reach these goals I have many plans that will contribute to the benefiting of society, like starting a camp for all types of kids. It would be somewhere they could go in the summer to stay out of trouble and have tons of fun without the risk of going through many of the pressures children experience while out with friends hanging out at home. I would have four wheelers; fishing, camping, and many other things children love to do. Another thing that is extremely important in my life is family. At my age not a lot of people think about having one but its something that I know I want. I mean with all the plans I have for my future they wouldn’t be as great if I didn’t have people to share it with or give to when I passed away. Also having little kids and doing father activities with them is something I really look...

...Medicine Wheel: A Guide to Achieving Personal Goals in Life One of the important subjects that is of great interest in Aboriginal Studies is the Medicine Wheel; how it is used as a guide for personal decision making and actions through life, particularly to achieving our personal goals. What the Medicine Wheel is all about and how it helps guide us to a more fulfilling life is a question most of us wonder. The Medicine Wheel is a crucial element of First Nation’s culture. It is a powerful symbol of the aboriginal people’s spirituality. It is the essence of their way of life, a key to understanding the universe, and a guide in which an individual can reach wholeness. It provides framework for growth and direction in one’s life (Roberts, Harper, Bull, & Heideman-Provost, 1998). “The Medicine Wheel symbolizes the interconnection of all life, the various cycles of nature, and how life represents a circular journey” (Traditional Aboriginal Medicine, 2009). The Medicine Wheel as a visual symbol is an effective tool for personal development (Native American Medicine Wheel, 2011). Based on my learning from the class discussions and presentations, I found this project very interesting and inspiring. I found it to be an important guide towards attaining success. In this paper is my vision of what a medicine wheel would be like and how I connect the medicine wheel ideas to my outlook, and to realizing my goals in life. Medicine...
