West Papua genocide is an ongoing conflict between Indonesian government lead ethnic groups and Indigenous ethnic groups of West Papua. The government was suspected of inciting genocide against the Indigenous. There has been turmoil between both ethnic groups since the 1960s when West Papua gained independence. Bombings occurred in the late 1960s and violent interactions continued in the 1970s and 1980s. Abductions, murders and evidence of torture has been well documented. The Independent Australia has reported that humanitarian rights had been breached on many occasions dating back to the 1960s and into 2016. What has raised eyebrows is that the Australian government continues to provide assistance to the Indonesian government. Just like the
