Christina, I realize that we are outnumbered by the British, but that will always be. Britain has been there far longer than we have been here. As a Warhawk, I believe that if we let them get away with it now, we will regret it. We need to stand up against the British and fight. We are a powerful group of American citizens. If we come together, we will be a strong force against the people that have been traumatizing us since the day we said we wanted independence. President Madison asks the Congress to Declare War and points out that, “British cruisers have been in the continued practice o violating the American flag on the great highway of nations, and of seizing and carrying off persons sailing under it,” (Page 401 of our assigned reading).
