...❇You'll have to be pretty close with the Swapfell bros for them to have you actually move in with them, even after they dub you their honorary siblings. Rus was actually the first one to suggest you moving in with them to Raspberry after finding out that you were looking for a new place to stay. Ras thought it was an excellent idea, going on about power in numbers and all that and decided to fetch you immediately! The next morning you're woken up to Ras and Rus in you apartment as Ras dig through your closet and stuffs things into a suitcase. Blinking the sleep from your eyes you try to process what is going on, "S-sans, what the heck are you doing?!?", "PACKING YOUR ESSENTIAL, YOU'RE WELCOME BY THE WAY! I WAS JUST GOING TO WAKE YOU UP AND HAVE YOU DO IT YOURSELF BUT PAPYRUS SAID WE SHOULD LET YOU SLEEP....

...required or determine the action of the molecules involved. (15 pts.) Note: You must use the table below for your answers. While you do not need to use every row, YOU CAN NOT CREATE MORE ROWS. Transferrin without Fe bound does not interact with its receptor and circulates in the bloodstream until it catches an Fe ion. Once iron is bound, the iron–transferrin complex can bind to the transferrin receptor on the surface of a cell and be endocytosed. under the acidic conditions of the endosome, the transferrin releases its iron, but the transferrin remains bound to the transferrin receptor, which is recycled back to the cell surface, where it encounters the neutral pH environment of the blood. The neutral pH causes the receptor to release the transferrin into the circulation, where it can pick up another Fe ion to repeat the cycle. The iron released in the endosome, like the LDL in Figure 15–33, moves on to lysosomes, from where it is transported into the cytosol. The system allows cells to take up iron efficiently even though the concentration of iron in the blood is extremely low. The iron bound to transferrin is concentrated at the cell surface by binding to transferrin receptors; it becomes further concentrated in clathrincoated pits, which collect the transferrin receptors. In this way, transferrin cycles between the blood and endosomes, delivering the iron that cells need...

...ibn al-Khattāb Tribe: Umar (ra) belonged to the “adi family of the Quraish tribe. Birth: He was born in 583 AC about 40 years before the great hijrah. In his youth he was a great wrestler, orator and a spirited person. Education: He was among the few people in Mecca who knew reading and writing before Islam. Occupation: His main occupation was business. Umars acceptance of Islam: During the 6th year of the prophets mission when the Quraish leaders called a meeting and ask for a volunteer for the assassination of the Prophet (saw) Umar offered himself for this job. While on his way with a sword in his hand he met Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas who asked of him and about his destination. Umar told him he was going to murder the Prophet (saw). After some discussion Sa’d said you had better take care of your own family first. Your sister and brother in law have accepted Islam. Hearing this Umar changed his direction and went straight to his sister’s house. When Umar knocked on the door they were studying the Holy Quran from Khabbab. His sister Fatimah was frightened on hearing Umars voice tried to hide the portion of the Quran she was reciting. When Umar entered the house he enquired about their Islam and on finding that they had accepted Islam he first fell upon his brother in law and beat him severely. When his sister stepped in to help he smote her so violently on her face she it bled profusely. ON this his sister burst out “DO whatever you like, we are determined to die...

...strategy. The RAFI is presented to Tower Watson as a new efficient B2B tool to invest, to help investment advisory firms to better establish their strategy. Indeed this index is based on fundamental criteria instead of market capitalization criteria (and thus it has an economic-centric view instead of a market-centric view). It has been proved through studies that portfolio weights decided by fundamentals are more reliable than by price. This interesting strategy, halfway between active and passive, has shown some significant higher returns over the past years, a fact that many pension funds have already noticed since the trend today for these funds is to invest more and more in passively traded funds. Even if such strategies seem to increase the investment exposure to market fluctuation they can still be considered as “smart-beta” strategies. In the end we will have understood that TW should follow that investment tendency and purchase RAFI’s license to offer a better performing investment strategy to its pension clients, keeping in mind that one should not invest all its AUM on a passive strategy but should rather diversify its portfolio between active and passive investment strategies. 2 Case Study Questions 1. What is the role of pension fund consultants such as Towers Watson (TW) towards their clients? What criteria should TW use to assess the suitability of...

...movement. When the synovium is now attacked, fluid from the synovium and other cells build up in the joints to cause an intense pain through an inflammation that can be systemic, or meaning that it may travel and occur throughout the entire body. The surrounding cartilage is destroyed and the tendons and ligaments that hold the joints together to give it its shape lose their strength respectively, and cause the joins to look misaligned. Doctors remain clueless as to what starts the process; however, they believe that genetic factors are extremely likely. While the actual genes themselves do not cause RA, it is theorized by many alike that they make you more susceptible to the environmental factors which may include specific bacteria and viruses that in tune may trigger the disease. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic disease, which means it is incurable and it can only be managed effectively. Most people that have RA do not experience consistent pain or other symptoms of the disease. Instead, victims experience what are called flares: intermittent periods where the disease is especially active, which equals out to an increase in pain and irritability as well. In some people, however, the symptoms and effects of the disease are quite prevalent throughout the course of an entire day back to back, progressively intensifying and worsening over time. Even in others, the affected...

...Research Development The video portion about brain researcher Amere Ras and his work in hypnotic suggestion brings up many questions in regards to treating mental health or addiction. In this he sheds some light on the power of suggestion and how if you are susceptible to hypnosis it can have a huge impact on your learning abilities and if you could possibly be treated with hypnosis. In this paper I will explain what Ras was trying to accomplish and will also tell you about how I would conduct this study if I were to do it. What was the purpose of this study? When Ras first conducted this study his intentions were to show us how he could undo automatic behaviors such as reading and being able to understand your native language. He used a test called the Stroop Color-Word Test that consists of colors that are written in words but in the wrong color ink. The test-taker has to be able to state the color that the word is written in and be able to ignore whatever the actual word is. For example, if you see the word “red” but it’s written in blue ink, the correct answer would be “blue”(Heerema, 2014). When he conducted this test he had two groups, one that was highly susceptible to hypnosis and the other who was not. Those who were susceptible saw the words as foreign and only saw the colors, which made them do much better on the test. (Psychology media suite 2008) Ras scanned the brain while completing this experiment and noticed that the anterior cingulated cortex, the area...

...RA Insurance Company: Risk assessment and internal controls Maastricht University School of Business and Economics Maastricht, 20 September 2013 Abel, S. I6077467 Isenia, N. I6064905 Liu, B. I6063209 Study: MSc IB Controlling Course code: EBC4069 Group number: 3 Tutor name: R. Maessen Writing assignment: Case Study RA The case study “ RA (Rest Assured) Insurance Company concerns a company that was involved in a large life insurance scam. RA was facing several risks that had a dramatic impact on the company because of bad decisions, lack of business controls, and a corporate culture that was inefficient and ineffective. The main objective of this case memo is to identify and appropriately assess the risks that the RA insurance company was facing. Further, this case memo introduces internal control solutions to manage those risks. Finally, this case memo provides examples of other companies that have faced problems similar to RA’s “churning” of policies. Identifying and assessing risks There are several strategic, sales & marketing, corporate culture, and corporate governance risks that are causing problems at RA. Firstly, the risk that the maximum amount of possible life insurance is reached is certainly a risk that RA is unable to manage. Although the overall number of life insurance policies was declining, RA continued to put its focus on this product. This might have put additional pressure on the sales force, forcing salesmen perhaps to commit fraud. Although this risk...

...surrounding tissues. This can also affect the organs. This is resulting in painful immobility, in the fingers, wrists, feet, and ankles. The immune system is designed towards protecting our well-being by attacking foreign cells like viruses and bacteria. Instead it attacks the body’s own tissues, a thin membrane that lines the joints. RA is a chronic disease meaning it can’t be cured. In some individuals the disorder is continuously active and gets worse over time. Others have long periods of remission. The cause of the disorder The cause of RA is still unknown. Infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi have long been suspected, none has been proven as the cause. What happen is the white blood cells over react to stimuli inside the body. Instead of protecting the body like it normally do from disease or infection, the immune system attacks and destroys the body’s tissues that are healthy. This chronic inflammatory condition that also effects other tissue. Autoimmune diseases often run in families many may develop different type of autoimmune disease. This genetic difference puts related family members at an increased risk for one or more autoimmune diseases. RA often improves during pregnancy. Certain proteins passed between the mother and unborn child may be responsible for the improvement. It may also change the mother’s immune system during the pregnancy in a way. Both genetics and environmental factors combined appear to be the main triggers of RA. Identify signs...

...put a lot of commitment behind me. They look after you. It was very competitive, and there were an awful lot of very good candidates. I sometimes thought: 'Why should they choose me?', but once I had been to a few interviews I picked up on what they were looking for. They wanted someone with individuality, and who was involved in all aspects of university life. Someone who made use of their vacations to get experience in business or follow up other interests, rather than spend a few weeks on the dole. They are looking for people who work particularly well in a team. Solo activities are not as positive; they want people who enjoy company. I decided, anyway, I could only be myself, and if that fitted into what they wanted then things would work out. If you try to be something different then it all just ends in tears at some stage. In the beginning I spent a minimum of 10 to 12 hours a day in the office, sometimes more, and occasionally worked at weekends, which was a shock. I was used to a 30-hour week, which was a lot for a university course, but nowhere near as demanding. I didn't really know what was expected of me. Only after being there for some time did I think: 'I can say no. I am in charge of my own work schedule.' I felt this immense pressure to do everything, and it all had to be perfect. As I went on I felt more in control. They give you a great deal of responsibility very quickly, but I wouldn't say you are treated like a king. I would be sitting there sorting...
