My Philosophy of Classroom Management

...you and your students can work, teach, and learn safely and efficiently. I will first take into consideration the physical environment of my classroom. Since my students spend most of their time in the classroom, I have to make sure that they are in an environment where they are comfortable and safe. As a class we will come up with ideas and suggestion as to how we would like our classroom to look and be. According to Charles and Senter (2011), there are six facets of the physical environment of a classroom which teachers have to consider in providing a pleasant place for learning. These include floor space, wall space, shelf space, cupboard space, countertop space and closet space. By utilizing the limited space provided to us in our schools today, I will be able to have proper control over how I organised the set up of my classroom. I will design my classroom seating arrangements so that it can have an impact on the students also. I can remember being in standard four, the seating arrangement in the class were placed horizontally causing us to break out heads to see on the blackboard. This often cause arguments and it was very difficult for us to stay motivated and work happily in the classroom. On entering my classroom, students are expected to enter quickly and quietly go to their assigned seats. They will remain standing until everyone is in their position. The person assigned to pray for the class to begin will do so then I will instruct them to take their seats afterwards...

...Time Management Essays-Various Top Five Time Management Mistakes Time management is not necessarily working "harder", but rather, "smarter." And to accomplish significantly more in our days, we need not increase our efforts. As an example, in a horse race, the first horse may earn a $50,000 purse and the second horse may earn a $25,000 purse. The first horse gets twice as much money as the second horse, not because it ran twice as far or twice as fast. It was only a "nose ahead" of the competition. So it is with our daily results. We need not run twice as fast or put in twice the effort to significantly increase our daily success. We only need to be a "nose ahead" of where we already are. We are all productive in our days. We would not survive the demands of this world if we were not. The real challenge is how much more productive can we become? And, a lot of our time management has to do with more of what we are not doing rather than what we are doing. Sometimes our mistakes and omissions will keep us from running at a full pace. Here are the Top Five Time Management Mistakes we should all avoid to help us to increase our daily success both on and off the job, in less time and with less stress. 1. Start your day without a plan of action. You will begin your day by responding to the loudest voice (the squeaky wheel gets the grease) and spend it in a defensive mode, responding to other people's and events' demands. The tail will wag the dog. If there is a void of...

...| | Panera Bread Company | The observation and analysis of a fast food restaurant | Panera Bread Company | The observation and analysis of a fast food restaurant | Background Information Rationale I chose to observe operations at Panera Bread Company (Panera) based on two factors: 1) I like the food and overall ambiance – I think Panera uses ingredients that are fresher and of higher quality than more traditional fast food restaurants. I also like that customers can sit down to eat using proper silverware and plates rather than using plastic utensils eating off of paper wrappers and plastic forks. Many Panera locations also have a patio, for al fresco dining, a cozy fireplace, for the winter months, and a small section with upholstered chairs and sofas. 2) Panera offers free Wi-Fi – this was an important factor because I wanted to take notes during each visit without bringing attention to myself. Because Panera offers Wi-Fi, it is not unusual to see customers with laptops. Visits I visited three different Panera locations over the course of several weeks and spent approximately 2 hours at each location. Introduction: Motivation of this paper “Comfort zone” was the first word that came into my mind when I was thinking about the topic of my paper, because I know I am the one who always want to stay in my comfort zones, which may impede my way to become a good leader or a successful person. So, I need to step out of my comfort zones on purpose once in a while, to improve my leadership skills and interpersonal skills. To finish this paper, first, I conducted a wide range of research on internet about “comfort zones” and “leadership”, finding that a lot of people shared the same feeling with me and there are plenty of articles in this specific area. I’ve learned a lot from the literature review stage, and knew more about how the “comfort zones” formed and its impacts. Then I reflected to some real life experiences of myself, further understood the reason why I would like to stay in my comfort zones and the importance to step out to become a good leader. ...The Challenges of Cross-cultural Adjustment: A Study of Secondary Chinese Students in South Australia (Homestay Situation) Chong Zhou, Guiyun Chen Abstract In this study, the researcher intends to make some contributions to the research literature regarding the analysis of secondary students’ cross-cultural adjustment through investigating a group of Mainland Chinese students’ experiences in secondary schools in South Australia. The study explores the perceptions of Chinese students in a more naturalistic way through conversations with them in their own language. It focuses on the cultural challenges faced by these Chinese students and provides some insider’s knowledge about the underlying causes for these challenges and their coping strategies in the process of adjusting to living and learning in Australian culture. This paper, as part of the study, will particularly focus on the challenges involved in the homestay situation, the results of which indicated that the secondary school Chinese students at homestays were confronted with four broad categories of challenges: difficulties with food, English language, household chores and relationships with homestay hosts. The findings also uncovered the detailed basis of each of the students’ difficulties, providing some specific cultural information for educational practitioners to better understand secondary Chinese students in Australia. Accounting Interview

...ACC 304 Research Project Dr. Fall Quarter 2015 Interview Transcript Justin: What is your name? Bridget: Bridget Skvarna. Justin: What is your position here at Cal Poly Pomona? Bridget: I am a Senior Accountant. Justin: So what does that entail? Bridget: I am involved in financial reporting to the State of California, to the Chancellor’s Office for the CSU system, and GAAP, I record investment income and reconciliation, I do special projects, and I do a lot of work to get the reporting accurate every month. Justin: What prompted you to be an accountant? Bridget: Well back in the 80s it was a process of elimination. I did not want to go into the medical field and I didn’t want to be an engineer. So that kind of took the sciences of the table. And I didn’t want to be an English teacher. So that left me with business. When I was in college we had four business majors. It was known accounting was the hardest, then finance, then marketing, and then management. My dad suggested to me, “Why don’t you go with accounting? Start high and if you need to drop down then drop down, but you will always be able to get a job with accounting.” And I like numbers and I’m good with numbers. Justin: Would you say your dad is a source of inspiration? Bridget: No, it was definitely not an inspired decision. It was a very logical and practical decision. Justin: That makes sense for an accountant, I’m not surprised. Have you been satisfied...

Time management can enhance your work experience if you are able to accomplish your plan. Benefits of Time Management There are several benefits of time management: 1. Control stress. Time management is stress prevention. Time management reduces stress because you can meet deadlines, and you can work fewer hours with greater results. 2. Balance your life.
