...and its orbits around the sun causes the seasons. That is because students believe that the earth is in an elongated elliptical path that causes the season depending on the distance. When all actuality the sun is in an orbit, as well as an elliptical path is an almost perfect circle. Another misconception is the earth is either far or close to the sun at various points of the path of orbit, in fact the earth stays in alignment almost constantly all year. The sun all around stays in the heat range of 5,778 Kelvin, there are no season on the sun since it is a star. The moon on other hand has various temperatures. During daylight the moons temperature grows to 253 degrees, and when its night the moon reaches -387 degrees. Mercury is in a tilt of an axis of zero. This means that there’s no seasonal type on the plant mercury. Mercury also as no atmosphere, that means that the weather changes don’t look like regular seasonal changes but as big changes in the surface temperature. Venus has season that are shorter that the days. Sunrises are separated by 117 earth days, and the planet rotates backwards. This means that the sun rises on the west side of the planet, unlike earth which the sun raises on the east. According to research the in October 11th 1994, Venus was in springtime while earth was in fall season. Mars has...

...We can use the formula below to describe the temperature dependence of this angle. This type of model is called the Landau-type model. δ0 represents the decline in the tilt angle at 980K (which is the transition temperature) whereas Tc represents the temperature for the second-order transition. The average of the overall δ can also be used as the individual δ. During the α-β transition phase, the cell parameters and fractional atomic coordinates in the α-phase incline towards the values found in the β-phase and display intermittent changes at 980K. The bond distances and angles have substantial fluctuations, and the thermal stability of the bridging angles and tilt angles of FePO4 are less than any α-quartz structure. There are significant changes in bond distances and angles. Particularly it has been shown that the α-β transition in quartz can be modeled using a single order parameter, the tilt angle δ. The overall average tilt angle δ is used for FePO4 as both the individual average tilt angles of the FeO4 and PO4 tetrahedra depend on the fractional atomic coordinates of O1 and O2 and are thus correlated. The thermal...

Christian Hartmann (LKN) 01. April 2006 01. October 2006 ii Abstract Parameter optimization, such as antenna tilting and CPICH power, can be used to adapt the traffic capacity of 3G systems to traffic demands which are varying in the space and time dimensions. The goal of this thesis is to investigate how parameter optimization can be implemented, both in the 3G cellular system’s initial planning stage to optimize the network for CAPEX saving as well as after the deployment of the network, to increase the capacity of the system. For this purpose, appropriate models, including the space and time domain dynamics of the traffic modeling the moving hotspot characteristics, have been integrated into a system simulation tool. Meta-heuristics techniques such as Tabu Search and Simulated Annealing have been implemented to solve this NP-hard problem. Results show that the existence of optimal configurations can have an achievable capacity gain of more than 30%. iii Acknowledgements This Master Thesis would not have been possible without the support of many people. I would like to express...

...happens. Many factors change due to the tilt of the Earth, whether it is at the normal 23.5 degrees, at 45 degrees or at no tilt at all. The tilt of the Earth has a major effect on the seasons around the world and the amount of daylight that each particular geographic location receives. Seasons are caused by the tilt of Earth’s axis. As the Earth revolves around the sun once a year, the direction of the rotational axis stays nearly fixed in space. So, when the Earth is at a certain place in its orbit, the Northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun and experiences summer where the Southern hemisphere experiences winter. Then six months later the Northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun and experiences winter and the Southern summer. Perigee and Apogee somewhat help determine our seasons as well. Perigee means in Latin-Greek, "Closest to the Earth" and refers to a position in an orbit. Apogee means "Farthest from the Earth “Another answer According to the Free Dictionary by Farlex, "The point in any orbit nearest to the body being orbited." Summer, winter, autumn and spring are the four different seasons here on planet Earth. But then this difference, according to astronauts, exists in other planets also. Any planet whose axis of rotation is tilted with respect to the plane of its orbit around the sun will have seasons - and that means all of them. Mars is similar to Earth in many respects, including having an axial tilt nearly the same as ours; the...

...What is CPR? CPR stands for CardioPulmonary Resuscitation i.e. to help restart the heart (pulse) and lungs (breathing). When do we perform CPR? CPR is performed when a person stops breathing and/or the heart stops. Why is it important to learn CPR? Every year about 350,000 people suffer cardiac arrest i.e. their heart stops. Sudden cardiac death is the most common cause of death in United States and Canada. If you know how to perform CPR you may be able to save a life. Why timing is important? When the heart (pulse) and lung (breathing) stops, the victim has 5 minutes before (gradual) brain death starts to occur, if no CPR is performed. Therefore, it is very important to start CPR as soon as possible. What is Hands-only CPR? Any bystander who is not trained in CPR can perform this type of CPR to try to save a life. Hand-only CPR is better than no CPR. If you witnessed an adult or a child/infant who suddenly collapses then: 1. Call EMS / 911 2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest | | Anatomy of Heart and Lungs 1. Heart The heart beats continuously to pump blood to all parts of the body. It has four chambers: Right and left atrium and ventricles. Blood flows from the right side of the heart to the left side. The heart is connected to blood vessels (arteries and veins) which combined make up the circulatory system. 2. Lungs Each person has two lungs underneath the ribcage: One on the left side and the one on the right. Its main function...

...Aeronautical Science Perspective Paper Marcel Melo ASCI 202 Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Rotary-wing aircraft are designed and built to fulfill a multitude of purposes and missions. Cargo, attack, transport, observation, etc. and with these different mission types come a plethora of design features. Such features include, but are certainly not limited to fully-articulated or semi-rigid rotor systems; two, three, four, or even five main rotor blades; skids, wheels; one or two engines. Yet, despite all the differences to the structure and therefore the aerodynamic properties of the helicopter, the one thing that remains constant in every aircraft are the flight controls and how they control pitch, roll, and yaw. All helicopters have three basic sets of controls. The cyclic controls the pitch of the rotor system as a whole, and therefore affects the pitch and roll of the fuselage. The collective changes the pitch of the blades, which changes the angle of attack and therefore lifts to change, which in turn causes the aircraft to pitch up or down. Additionally, adjusting the collective also has causes a change in torque of the main rotor and so the fuselage yaws left or right. And finally, to offset the torque of the main rotor the pedals change the pitch angle of the tail rotor which provides control in the yaw axis. The cyclic can affect changes in the roll and yaw of the fuselage by changing the lift vector of the rotor system. Aviator inputs to collective...

...a few other things thrown in to make sure you are doing it safely and healthily. The belt usually comes (if the composer is sensitive and intelligent) at emotionally climactic moments within a song or a show. These can be moments of pain, anguish, joy, pleasure, ecstasy, or when a character is desperate to be heard, seen or noticed. The lyric/s that a belt is used on is usually carefully considered. Belting is always a loud, thick, exciting sound and is usually characterized by straight tone leading into vibrato at the most pleasing moment in the harmonic progression to release the built tension. Tip One: Tilt the Cricoid Cartilage The larynx is composed of two main pieces of cartilage: the Adams apple (thyroid cartilage) and a band of cartilage which forms the top of the trachea and the base of the larynx – the cricoid cartilage. By activating what’s called a cricoid tilt, we can adjust the position of the cricoid to shorten the vocal folds. So how to get this working: There are two lumps on your larynx. The top lump is your thyroid cartilage and the bottom lump is your cricoid cartilage. For boys, the top lump will usually be much larger than the bottom. Girls may find this more difficult, and the cricoid cartilage may actually be bigger than the thyroid. Keep a finger on the cricoid cartilage, and make a high-pitched ‘yay’ sound like a kid’s TV presenter. You should feel the whole body of the larynx move upwards and the cricoid cartilage fold inwards into your neck. You’ll...

...magnitude of style drift and decompose it into active and passive components. We find that while fund style tilts are consistent with their self-stated investment objective, there is variation in the degree of style bias within style groups. We document that funds actively adjust their portfolio holdings in response to passive style drift to retain a desired portfolio tilt. The degree of adjustment varies with the frequency over which the drift is measured, with funds being most responsive to changes in book-to-market and momentum drift. We also find that certain types of style drift affect portfolio turnover. ...How do concrete and steel compare in the construction of large commercial buildings? Office buildings, Hotels, Sports Complexes, and other buildings have the purpose of bringing people inside. The goal is to keep occupants comfortable and safe, while keeping the cost associated withe the construction and maintenance of the building low. Both materials have advantages and disadvantages. However, when it comes right to it, the differences between the tow materials balance themselves out . There is no truly better building material. There are many advantages in using steel as a building material. Steel is a very structurally stable material. It is also eco-friendly and energy efficient. construction steel is recyclable with the rates of over 90 perce there’s no need to worry about the material rotting or damages caused by insects. It is very durable and can withstand most weather conditions. There’s also no need for deforestation that are harmful to the environment. Steel frame compared to wood is stronger and sturdier. It is also lighter and flame resistant. With the advancement of technology, steel can be form and bend to the user’s need. Constructing steel is faster than most materials, thus making it more cost-effective. Though steel contains many advantages, there will always be a few disadvantages along with it. Steel may be more resistant than wood, but it can also develop molding during the winter. Since steel also contain metal material, if not treated carefully...
