...out that the interactional justice is indirectly affecting the equation of relationship between performance based pay and job satisfaction. However, less is to be said about researches mainly on the significance of interactional justice in the equation above. The writers mentioned that there are not many studies done to specifically explore this relationship thus motivates them to research more on this issue, hence this article. The methodology of research was conducted via cross-sectional research with emphasize on survey questionnaire where 334 questionnaires were distributed to employees who have worked in the private institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. The results were tabulated via a Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 16.0 using the exploratory factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and descriptive statistics as well as the stepwise regression analysis. The empirical outcome from the analysis conducted confirms that interactional justice does act as a mediating variable in the relationship between performance based pay and job satisfaction in the selected sample study....

College students, a group people who are the pioneers to build the future society, their behavior on choosing and doing part-time jobs and legal rights maintaining have great significance to research. We assessed the college students’ performance on part-time job employment by analysis of 390 questionnaires, using SPSS software and other data analysis systems. Based on the research, we find that majority students have strong desire to take part-time jobs, but lack knowledge of relevant law and actions to protect their lawful rights and interests. In the end of the paper we come up with several suggestions to today’s college students on choosing part-time jobs and self-protection. KEY WORDS Part-time employment. College Students. ...Research Topic IMPROVING THE PROCUREMENT PERFORMANCE OF UGANDA NATIONAL ROADS AUTHORITY (UNRA) BY SUSAN NABADDA ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to examine procurement performance at UNRA. The study adopted a cross sectional and quantitative survey design and the sample size of 122 was drawn for the study and the respondent were selected using the simple random and purposive sampling techniques. A self- administered questionnaire was used to collect the required data which was later analyzed using the SPSS software. The findings revealed that the quality of goods and services delivered were of poor quality and that the suppliers did not consider timeliness as a major factor. The results further revealed that there was dissatisfaction among internal customers with the suppliers. Among the challenges of procurement performance in UNRA, the findings pointed to the revealed lack of a clear understanding of the core-activities, unclearly defined objectives, goals and expectations, non involvement of key stakeholders' valuable knowledge, lack of integrative point of view of the stakeholders, unclear assignment of responsibilities, poor communication, poor monitoring and lack of needs assessment of the user departments affected the performance of the purchasing function of the company. Some of the suggested strategies that could be maintained to improve procurement performance included clearly defined objectives, goals and expectations for the purchasing function, effective...

The data included are fictional and were created solely for this assignment. The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D scale) is often utilized to measure depressive symptomology (Radloff, 1977). It is a self-assessment that is completed by the individual. The CES-D contains 20-items rated on a 4-point scale (0 = Rarely or None of the Time to 3 = Most or All of the Time). The phrase “Within the past week did you…” prefaces the questions in order to emphasize recent depressive mood. Scores are summed and can range from 0 to 60. Traditionally, individuals with scores over 16 are identified as “depressed” (Weissman, et al., 1977), though due to high false positive rates, a score of 27 is considered a more useful cut-off (Zich, et al., 1990). The full scale can be accessed at: http://www.chcr.brown.edu/pcoc/cesdscale.pdf. Items 4, 8, 12, and 16 are reversed to avoid “yay-saying” or “nay saying” (Radloff, 1977). Several studies have validated four subscales across a variety of subgroups (i.e., depressive affect, well-being, somatic, and interpersonal) (Gliem & Gliem, 2003). Reliability and Subtest Scoring You will continue the analysis of the CES-D data by learning...

...starting out at 2nd year university of seasoned well published researchers. We all need to know the basics. Nevertheless, at the same time, even seasoned researchers tend to forget some methods that they do not always use. Therefore the idea for this book, as a handout for students yet at the same time a quick guide and reference for the seasoned researcher. Please note that we are using SPSS v15 and AMOS v4. May it be of help to all who strive to better themselves. This book is dedicated to or my darling wife, Doren, and my dearest son, Walter. Associate Professor Dr Ernest Cyril de Run 16 November 2007 BASIC ANALYSIS: A GUIDE FOR STUDENTS AND RESEARCHERS 2 (CIB pdf formfields Demoversion) 1. What is SPSS? SPSS refers to computer software named Statistical Program for Social Sciences and it comes in various versions and adds on. It is software and not a method of analysis. Therefore please do not state that you are using SPSS to analysis whatever in your research paper. You may state that you use this statistical package in order to run a certain analysis such as ANOVA or any other method. SPSS is statistical and data management software that is widely used. This is partly because it is simple to use, user friendly, and does not require coding as by SAS. You may...

VIEREGGE and SEHKARAN: SOFTWAREQUAL for software SOFTWAREQUAL: THE CASE OF SPSS STATISTICAL SOFTWARE ABSTRACT Anecdotal evidence suggests that today’s students (Generation Y members) do well with the internet, but struggle with applied software. Zeithaml, Parasuraman and Malhotra (2000) developed service quality measures for service encounters in an electronic environment (e.g.SITEQUAL). This preliminary study measures the gap between GenY students’ expectation of and satisfaction with SPSS software. Altogether, n=43 students participated in the experiment. The results suggest that GenY students seek functionality and not fancy gimmicks in application software. While overall reporting satisfaction with SPSS, some...

...SCHOOL OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY. BACHELOR OF BUSINESS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ADM NO. 113/01479 SPSS REPORT INTERNAL INDUSTRIAL BASED LEARNING 1 PRESENTED TO: JULIUS NYERERE SPSS is a software package used for statistical analysis. The software name originally stood for Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). SPSS is the acronym of Statistical Package for the Social Science.SPSS is one of the most popular statistical packages which can perform highly complex data manipulation and analysis with simple instructions. It is designed for both interactive and non-interactive uses. It is also used by market researchers, health researchers, survey companies, government, education researchers, marketing organizations, data miners, and others. The original SPSS manual (Nie, Bent & Hull, 1970) has been described as one of "sociology's most influential books" for allowing ordinary researchers to do their own statistical analysis.[4] In addition to statistical analysis, data management (case selection, file reshaping, creating derived data) and data documentation (a metadata dictionary was stored in the data file) are features of the base software. Statistics included in the base software: * Descriptive statistics: Cross tabulation, Frequencies, Descriptive, Explore, Descriptive Ratio Statistics * Bivariate statistics: Means, t-test, ANOVA, Correlation (bivariate...

...then were given survey questionnaires. Sample size n was computed using the multiple regression sample size calculator. From that, the number of observations was also dependent on the sample size. The computed sample size was 103 however, a total of 45 respondents were acceptable by using multiple regression analysis because according to Hair, Anderson, Tatham, & Black (1995), in order to maximize the number of observations per variable, the minimum ratio of five observations per independent variable should be utilized. The relationship of various DINESCAPE factors and overall satisfaction were determined using different statistical tools like descriptive Statistics, multiple regression analysis, and correlation analysis using the SPSS software. By using multiple regression analysis, it showed that for fast food restaurants not all of the DINESCAPE factors turned out to be significant. The most number of specific factors that were significant is three. For Jollibee and McDonald’s, there were no significant factors. For Chowking, only three specific factors were significant; enough space seating, crowded seating arrangement, and warm atmospheric factors. For casual dining restaurants, only few resulted to be significant; seats/furnishings is the only factor that is most common among the significant specific factors. In correlation analysis, individually there are more specific factors significant in fast food restaurants than in casual dining...

...STAT582 HW7 Review of Two Statistical Software Packages – Minitab and SPSS Yan Sun As a statistician, have you ever got stuck in front of your computer, trying to figure out the correct syntax of a command to type into the little programming window, and just could not get it right? At that moment, I am sure you would wish there was some magic easy button that you could just click and then things would work the way they should. Well, magic does not happen everyday. However, some better choices can make life easier. Instead of using programmed command lines, some statistical software make their usage much easier by using a menu-driven interface. This kind of software are like well-organized control panels. Each of the things you need to do is controlled by a button somewhere on the panel. Once you get familiar with the layout of the panel, the actual work should be quite an enjoyable process. Several good menu-interface statistical software are available. Among them, Minitab and SPSS are the most widely used ones. This report serves as an introduction to these two software packages. For each of them, the software’s specialties, advantages, and suitability will be discussed. Some important functionalities, their implementations, and programming in the two software will be introduced. This report also includes ‘helpful resources’, which I personally found very helpful in learning and using the two software. 1. Minitab History Minitab was...

...An investigation on how the mode of transport affect study, leisure, social activities, and academic performance of undergraduate students Abstract This study seeks to investigate how mode of transport influences the activities of undergraduate students, and whether it impacts their academic performance. The activity patterns of 50 KPTM students are analysed. The respondent profile indicates that slightly more than half are females; between 21-24 years old; and currently pursuing their bachleor degree. In terms of lifestyle, large majority are average and above average financially; with 2 to 4 siblings; using private transport; and exercise irregularly. In terms of study-related activities, their academic performances are self-reported as average and above average; fair and good class attendance; only sometimes or never late for class; and considered to be more focused and attentive by their preferences to seat between the front-middle and the middle-back rows. In terms of time spent (hours per week) on the core activities, on average the students reported to study 20.6 h/week; to have leisure time for 24.6 h/week; social activities for 40.4 h/week; and working 3.4 h/week. The major findings of this study reveal that mode of transport does play an important role in student’s study, leisure, and social activities. The findings indicate that those students with private transport tend to spend slightly less time on self-study (20.4-20.8 h/week) and miss slightly more classes...
