I chose to do my analysis on an article from US Weekly. It is multimedia because it contains words and pictures. Without pictures, I think that the article would have looked boring, but without text, there wouldn’t be an article at all. I was drawn to an article about Nick Viall from The Bachelor because it was the cover story and included a lot of pictures and interesting headlines. Pictures of Nick, the individual contestants mentioned, and a group shot of him with all of this girls are on this season. They use a lot of pictures of roses and rose petals, because they have important significance on the show. People seeing the roses or petals might make them emotional because their favorite didn’t get a rose this week, or because they’ve always wanted a rose from past bachelors. In the article, they reveal things that Nick did before being on this season of The Bachelor and also some insight on the most popular contestants so far. I think that it was written to stir the pot of the emotions of the viewers from the show. They wanted to create drama to keep this season interesting. It was most likely …show more content…
There are colored text boxes around almost all of the text, except on the first page. The content is interesting if you watch the show, but if you don’t you probably wouldn’t like it. Some of the content includes that Nick was hesitant on joining because he has been on the shows three previous times and none of them worked out. At first, I thought that the creator of this article would have been a woman in her early twenties, like show viewers, but instead, it was written by a man named Eric Andersson. The context of the article included Nick Viall, Corine Olympios, Taylor Nolan, Rachel Lindsay, Vanessa Grimaldi, Danielle Lombard, and Jasmine Goode. The rest of the circumstances of the context are that it takes place this year and at the Bachelor Mansion. The audience of this article is mostly The Bachelor

...Winning) In Heather Boushey’s article on The American Prospect 2007 is a special report titled “Values Begin at Home, but Who’s Home?” This article reflects America’s current family values. This is an older, but effective report. Heather Boushey was formerly a Senior Economist with the United States Congress Joint Economic Committee and before that, with the Center for Economic and Policy Research and the Economic Policy Institute. She has testified before the U.S. Congress and authored numerous reports and commentaries on issues affecting working families. “Heather Boushey.” Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia. Boushey also uses her skills as a former Senior Economist, to hone in on statistical data to prove the decline in family values, since Mother’s began working outside of the home. Heather Boushey article serves a dual purpose- or kairos. Boushey wrote this article stating her negative opinion toward today’s economy and how it affects family values. First, Boushey believes that mothers leaving the home to join the workforce has a negative effect on the well-being of our families and our family values, and secondly persuading us to measure how well our current American economy works for our families. Towards the end of the article Boushey tries to convince us, as voters to take action...

...Software, very popular software back in the 80's and early 90's when the PC industry was very young. He grew his business from startup to achieve great success, finally selling the company to Great Plains Software (since purchased by Microsoft) for a hefty sum (Bergin Tim, An Interview with GARY HARPST). Gary’s book, “Six Disciplines Execution Revolution: Solving the One Business Problem That Makes Solving All Other Problems Easier” was published in July 2008. In Six Disciplines Execution Revolution, Harpst details the elements of a complete strategy execution program, explains why it could only have happened now, and clarifies why such a program will become a mainstream requirement for successful small and midsized businesses in the future. Summary: According to Harpst, excellence is the enduring pursuit of balanced strategy and execution. Strategy requires choosing what promises to make to all stakeholders and a roadmap for delivering on those promises. Execution requires getting there, while overcoming unending surprises. Excellence is a journey – not a destination. A business excellence model tells organizations as to how they should operate relative to the two dimensions of strategy and execution. (See figure 1, Exhibit 1) Quadrant I: Strong Strategy/Weak Execution: In this quadrant, a business has a strong strategy, which means a competitive advantage. Regardless of whether a company is a start-up or a seasoned business, strong strategy usually leads to growth in sales. A...

...i need some information and answer too.Industry overview. Although there has been a dramatic shift in dining habits over the last 20 or so years, the change has been gradual, reflecting a constant evolution of the industry. In the United States, the National Restaurant Association (NRA), www.restaurant.org, has been the premier source for identifying changing trends in consumer habits. Each year the NRA publishes, among other things, its annual "Restaurant Industry Forecast." The forecast provides a glimpse of the industry through anticipated sales, customer spending habits, dining traits, operational trends and industry workforce trends. The U.S. Bureau of the Census, the Department of Labor, and The Library of Congress are also good sources when analyzing population growth, ethnicity mix, labor and economic conditions; however, organizations such as the NRA and restaurant-based publications provide more relevant information about our particular industry. Given the projected growth of the restaurant industry, this aspect of your plan paints an optimistic future of your chances for success in a very competitive business. Target market. Location analysis. Some business plans, probably most, are created before a site has been selected. Therefore, the location analysis may be limited to the general area or city for the proposed concept.
