B. Mission Statement: Through communication and mutual respect, we strive to produce above standard academic work.

C. Vision Statement: We will produce an effective, well- developed team work plan that can be used and understood by every member of the team.

D. Shared Values: The following shared values will support open and honest communication, accountability, mutual respect, and ethical decision-making. • Accountability: To willfully accept tasks, roles and responsibilities, set expectations accordingly, and produce deliverables in agreed upon time. • Honesty- To communicate openly with all team members, professors, classmates, and to adhere to the UMUC policy on plagiarism. • Mutual respect: To acknowledge and embrace each others' individuality, values, opinions, and perspectives. • Communication: To respectfully and tactfully express, inform, question, etc. the way(s) in which one thinks, feels, or believes with the goal of accomplishing the tasks set before the team.

Systematic documentation: We will work to document any and all work completed by its team members. This will ensure all work can be accounted for. This will also hold team members accountable for their assigned portions of projects. Furthermore by documenting all work, individual team members can ensure there will be no disputes about team contributions.

Regular communication: Regular contributions will help team members stay up to date about their team member’s progress on the projects. We will strive to send weekly updates about the progress of their tasks to ensure all tasks will be turned in by their respective due dates.

Professionalism: We will continually strive for excellence. By doing this each member will be responsible for their work, and continually improve it.

Positive Team Feedback: It is important for team members to remain positive at all times. They will work to give positive feedback even when critiquing other team members’ work. By doing this they will ensure all members remain motivated for the entirety of the course.

Positive Team Environment: Each team member will have mutual trust, honesty, encouragement, and respect for each other’s ideas, needs and limitations. Team members will communicate on a regular basis and notify team members if they cannot meet assigned deadlines.

E. Desirable team behaviors and consequences for non-compliance

• Meeting assigned deadlines: Each team member is expected to participate fully with other team members by contributing and submitting assignments in a timely manner. • Respect: Each team member is expected to treat other team members with respect • Punctuality: Each team member will participate in conferences and arrive on time to ensure the maximum amount of interaction amongst the team • Research skills – Each team member shall supply complete references and citations when submitting research to the group. Having to go back and search for references is a waste of valuable time and resources. • Meeting assigned or volunteered deadlines – Out of respect for other team members, get your assignments completed on time. If you will be late, let everyone know. Team members will be honest when setting deadlines and are expected to adhere to the deadline they choose. • Communication – follow the guidelines for team communications that we all agree upon: Team meetings will occur on Sunday at 9 p.m. EST (8 p.m. CST) on Google chat. We will discuss that week’s upcoming assignment and address any issues. Not all team members have regular access to e-mail. Team members will communicate through the conference area of the study group. Team members will submit all documents to the collaborative docs section of the study group. All communications through email shall be copied into the collaborative documents folder. This includes transcripts from chat room discussions to ensure complete transparency and information dissemination to the group. The team members are to provide feedback, revisions, and agreements within 24 hours after assigned drafts and final drafts are submitted either to the Study Group or disseminated through e-mail.

The team's final assignment will be submitted by the team's coordinator (or his/ her backup) after each member or the majority (which is 3 out of 4) agrees to move forward with the final draft of the assignment and no later than 10:30 pm EST. In the event the team is 24 hours away from submitting the final assignment, which would be any Monday, 11pm EST (or otherwise noted by Professor Newman) and there are only two members available to make a decision, the team will agree that the two members will have the authority to make the final decision.

(*Honest self –assessment is important. You will want to use this information to help you distribute the work in a way that leverages your individual and team advantages.)

G. Team conflict management plan Should any conflict arises within the team, each member is to be made aware of the issue and suggest resolutions. Each team member will agree on a said plan to resolve the issue and move forward in an amicable and respectful fashion. In the event the team is not able to resolve the issue, an email will be sent to the professor and the faculty assistant for mediation and resolution. Any e-mails or messages that need to be elevated to the professor/faculty assistance will be approved by the majority of the team first. Any issues should be resolved within four days in order to efficiently and effectively accomplish team assignments.

I. Encouragement of Teamwork To foster teamwork, the team will meet regularly via conference chat room to discuss all issues related to the project. Also, be aware that messages can/will be sent through email which means that each person on the team will need to check their e-mail on a regular basis. This will help the team identify if any problems exist or if an individual team member is struggling with his or her portion of the work. Once identified, a plan of action can be agreed upon to rectify the issue.

II. Team Work Plan

The team projects in this seminar require us to work together throughout the semester. It is important for everyone to know that one of the most significant factors in effective team performance is effective time management. To achieve this goal, each person on the team will have specific tasks for which they will be responsible. Each team member will adhere to any given timelines for their portion of the projects. Each member will complete drafts of their work sufficiently in advance of the due dates to allow editing to produce a cohesive quality document written in a single voice.)
The team work plan helps team members to more effectively plan their time and avoids unnecessary duplication of effort. In addition, if everyone knows what they have to do, what they can expect from others, and when they must deliver their contributions or can expect to receive the contributions of another team members, the possibility of a conflict over who should have done what and when can be minimized.
Work plans are to be posted in the study group's conference. Faculty expects each member to make a meaningful contribution to the weekly assignments and to follow the process outlined in the work plan. All of the contributions of each study group member to the assignments must be posted in the study group's conference. Usually all the team members receive the same grade for the team project, however, a team member’s grade may be reduced if the individual did not contribute in a meaningful way to the team assignment. This determination will be made by evaluating the member's individual contributions posted in the study group conference and comparing them to the work plan.

...do with the decision making, creativity, and great entrepreneurship from their founder and CEO, Kevin Plank. Plank was very business savvy from day one, while juggling school and football in college he also had his own business, selling flowers which allowed him to save nearly $20,000 to start Under Armour. Plank’s creativity with Under Armour is stemmed from the fact that he was a college athlete so he understands exactly what athletes want from his products. Plank still uses his athletic instincts in the workplace during meeting, rather than just sitting around a table he calls a huddle which allows for a more fun and relaxed environment in the workplace. When plank was a football player at The University of Maryland he was proclaimed as the sweatiest man on the field and his cotton shirts held too much water which made him very uncomfortable during practice and games, thus Plank decided to try and create a shirt that would not hold water which would make him faster and lighter on the field. Plank had an edge that most sports apparel CEO’s did not have and that was that he was a college athlete, which meant that many of teammates and close friends went on to play in the NFL, allowing Plank to send his teammates his product and share them with their new teammates in the NFL. Many college and professional equipment managers, got word of Under Armour, asking Plank for products and giving him ideas for new products. Under Armor Case Summary

... A football player named Kevin Plank had a problem playing football. His t-shirts were not fitted and absorbed water like a sponge. With a tailor he created the first dry compression t-shirt which would be the start of Under Armor. This new athletic shirt would become the start of a 2 billion dollar empire selling millions of units. Choice 1: the Company had to many competitors that were bringing down sales in the company. Bringing new products to the company in short time to match Nikes strategy was their new plan. The pros are that Under Armor would expand in athletic wear and not just stick to one product. This will target new potential customers that need different types of clothes and shoes. Expanding their product line also weakens competitors making the company get a better position in athletic wear. The cons are that the company only has a short timeline for new products and need to get their suppliers on point with mass production. Some companies do not have the resources to mass-produce after a limit was reached. Choice 2: Under Armor felt the problem was with marketing not the product. They kept the same products and looked for a new way to bring out a message that sells. The pros in this strategy are that under armor got customers by inspirational stories of athletes using their brand. Most customers are followers and do anything a professional athlete recommends them or uses. The cons in this strategy are that this was only a temporary approach to get sales to...

Montgomery College Research Paper

...A community college in the United States refers to a publicly funded two-year institution that can grant certificates, diplomas, and associate's degrees. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is a public school district that serves Montgomery County in Maryland. It is the largest school district in Maryland. It has a total of two hundred schools, only twenty-five of those two hundred being high schools. It has a graduation rate of ninety percent. Out of the MCPs students who chose to stay in maryland, sixty percent of them attend Montgomery college. It has three convenient locations in Rockville, Germantown, and Takoma Park. MCPS Students tend to go to Montgomery College because it is cost efficient; they want to improve their resume before transferring to a four-year institution, or because they are just not ready to leave the house. The low tuition costs for in-state students tend to lure students to Montgomery College, as opposed to out-of-state schools, and private schools. Tuition for Montgomery College is a low-cost alternative for MCPS students because they are considered in-county or in-state, also because it is a community college. The tuition for Montgomery College for a twelve credit student is $1,891.20. That is significantly...

There are 107 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the United States, including public and private institutions, community, four-year institutions, medical and law schools. Magnetic Swipe Card System Security

...of the University of Maryland, College Park Daniel Ramsbrock dramsbro@umd.edu Stepan Moskovchenko stevenm86@gmail.com Christopher Conroy cconroy@gmail.com Abstract This paper provides a comprehensive security analysis of the Lenel magnetic swipe card system used at the University of Maryland at College Park. We first explore the cards and hardware components which comprise the system, and then present several plausible points and methods of attack on the system. We chose several of these attacks and demonstrated them using a $240 commercial card reader/writer and a customized unit powered by a microcontroller, which cost about $20 in parts. We developed the capability to read cards, write arbitrary data to cards, simulate card swipes through a reader using a flux reversal pattern generator, and “sniff” data from up to 16 live swipes using a single microcontroller which can be easily hidden in the reader's housing. We tested and successfully demonstrated these capabilities on the live Lenel system under the supervision of the university's Department of Public Safety. Based on our findings, we recommend that the university use neither social security nor university ID numbers on the cards, that it use magnetic card access only in low-security areas, and that it use a more sophisticated and secure system such as proximity smart cards for access to high-security areas. While the analysis and recommendations presented in this paper are aimed at the University of Maryland...
