Unocumented Immigrants

The way undocumented immigrants are treated in the United States is utterly disgraceful. So much talk has gone into how we should deport all of the undocumented immigrants and how we can keep undocumented immigrants from coming into the United States; while we seem to completely disregard the fact that undocumented immigrants are human beings as well. Human beings who have left their home countries in search of a better life for their children and for themselves. Human beings that came to this country looking for the opportunity to get an education and work. Although, it is true that these people are breaking the law it would seem that perhaps we should take a closer look at these laws and possibly bring reformation to the citizenship process.

Personal Statement: Unocumented Immigrants

...Exactly 16 years ago, I moved to the U.S. Today, I wrote my senators the following letter in support of undocumented immigrants: I arrived in the US on September 26, 2001, a shy, big-headed seven year-old. In the 5840 days I’ve lived here, I have had the privilege never being undocumented. That means that I've never had to worry about being sent back to a county ravaged by civil war, economic exploitation and foreign policy. I never worried about having to pay for college because I knew I could apply for loans and FAFSA. I never had to worry about a going back to a country I barely know or have ICE show up at my door. In those 5840 days, I've seen countless friends and families torn apart by deportations family separations. I've had...

The Pros And Cons Of Unocumented Immigrants

...My first time hearing about undocumented immigrants was when I was at Tartan Senior High. It was my sophomore year when Donald Trump was elected. The halls were crazy and students were crying uncontrollably. There was this girl, I remember her like it was yesterday. Not only was she being bullied, but there was racism involved, too. Kids told her to go back to her country which did not make her feel welcome. Tartan was crazy at this time. An undocumented immigrant is somebody who is not in our system. It is hard for them in the country because they can’t get any legal papers, like a driver’s license. It’s hard for undocumented workers to get jobs. The jobs they have to get are blue collar jobs. They can’t work legally without drawing attention...

My parents during my early childhood tried as best as they could to help me find someone who would be able to explain how to do my homework. Despite the limited financial resources my parents and I had we were able to get through the early years of my childhood. In the beginning of 2013 disaster struck. My mother became sick.
