To Whom It May Concern, I understand that I’ve recently been academically dismissed from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division. While attending classes last quarter I unfortunately contracted Vaginitis a painful issue to deal with when trying to concentrate, sit, use the restroom, or do tedious homework that requires full focus. Vaginitis affects the inflicted with genital warts, burning, itching, inflammation, bleeding, or other discomforts I had each listed. While in the beginning of Milestone three or week three of my last classes on 11/04/16 I had a doctor’s appointment with my nurse practitioner and was diagnosed with Vaginitis, Severe Urinary Track Infection, and Vulvovaginitis. Just dealing with one at a time proves to be a …show more content…
None of these will affect my future moving forward with the Art Institutes. I plan to file for part time at work so I can devote the majority of my time to focus on my studies and become a star student and far surpass my 1.99 GPA that stands at the moment. I understand I was .01 away from having my academic dismissal reversed and it was a bit of a heartbreak to come that close. I will remain optimistic and hope you see that I want to work hard and prove to you that I can handle any work given to me in my classes moving forward. My last instructor for my Composition and Language II [Pinnacle] ENG1020 P01 was gracious enough to write how hard I worked in her class and how my cooperation lead to my success at the end of the academic extension. This year has been the most difficult I’ve experienced with the events that happened recently and the passing of two of my good friends in March and August. Their deaths affected my mentally, emotionally, and motivationally. But with the coming of the New Year I feel I can put the past behind me and move forward with my life a stronger person. Secrecy Surrounding the Practice of Female Circumcision in Mabvuku and Tafara Surburbs

...CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION Female circumcision is a traditional practice performed on girl children as part of initiation rituals into adulthood. This inquiry seeks to demystify the secretiveness surrounding this practice, seeking to establish the reasons why female circumcision remains a taboo subject. In doing so, the researcher will attempt to establish the local community’s perception of female circumcision and elucidate some of the reasons practitioners cite as benefits of female circumcision. The research focuses on Mabvuku and Tafara suburbs because there are people of different ethnic groups with varying customs and values that shape their behaviour and way of life. Mabvuku and Tafara have an unusually high concentration of people of Malawian, Mozambican and Zambian origin who migrated to seek work mostly before the Zimbabwean independence. Due to this diversity, women and girls who have undergone female circumcision were interviewed. Mabvuku is a high-density suburb some seventeen kilometres east of Harare. It is classified as a suburb or township of Harare, with the Harare City Council constituting local government. This inquiry is exploratory, descriptive and qualitative in nature, based on interviews with women who had undergone the practice in Mabvuku-Tafara. The inquiry can be termed therefore, a qualitative research done through a case study design. This research method is preferred because the researcher is exploring a subjective understanding of social reality...

Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple

...Preface A well-developed knowledge of clinical microbiology is critical for the practicing physician in any medical field. Bacteria, viruses, and protozoans have no respect for the distinction between ophthalmology, pediatrics, trauma surgery, or geriatric medicine. As a physician you will be faced daily with the concepts of microbial disease and antimicrobial therapy. Microbiology is one of the few courses where much of the "minutia" is regularly used by the practicing physician. This book attempts to facilitate the learning of microbiology by presenting the information in a clear and entertaining manner brimming with memory aids. Our approach has been to: 4) Create a conceptual, organized approach to the organisms studied so the student relies less on memory and more on logical pathophysiology. The text has been updated to include current information on rapidly developing topics, such as HIV and AIDS (vaccine efforts and all the new anti-HIV medications), Ebola virus, Hantavirus, E. coli outbreaks, Mad Cow Disease, and brand-new antimicrobial antibiotics. The mnemonics and cartoons in this book do not intend disrespect for any particular patient population or racial or ethnic group but are solely presented as memory devices to assist in the learning of a complex and important medical subject. We welcome suggestions for future editions. 1) Write in a conversational style for rapid assimilation. 2) Include numerous figures serving as "visual memory tools" and summary charts...
