Art from the Prehistoric ages to Byzantine, were about documenting their beliefs and the world around them, sometimes politically. During the Roman empire, a humanistic art documentation began, the Greeks especially, had paid respects to their Gods through many mediums. Along with Christian arts, which give visual representations of the characters and events in the Bible. One particular artwork that shows the veneration of its subject(s) is the Virgin Mary.
