Throughout history humans have been obsessed with the post-apocalyptic world. But When it actually happens it will not be as pleasant as humans have anticipated. In “Portable Phonograph” by Walter Van tilburg Clark, a world is described, a world without life. The only concept that replenishes the survivors instinct to go on is the Phonograph. Whereas, in “How to Survive Nuclear Winter” by James Douglas it is more about what is needed to survive; food, water, heat, protection. All the crucial life saving necessities. So a nuclear winter would turn the world into a decade long post-apocalyptic winter world; where humans would need multiple things to survive.
