Law Firms Are Extremely Difficult Clients

...never really ends, if done properly and budget allows from a marketing standpoint the ever changing culture and the site’s audience, the laws and regulations (especially in this field), and the changing in partnerships, staffing, specialities and areas of practice are an ever changing dynamic for any law firm that you design for). Remember that what is Out of Scope for the project is possibly even more important than what is In Scope. So don’t overlook it, as well as make sure it is clearly defined and understood by client and design team. Otherwise you’re wasting time you’re not getting paid for. Also staying focused on the ‘brand’ of the law firm will allow you to narrow spectrums of colors, graphics, and content focus that will be used. Pre-approve all content (especially before putting it on the Internet with this genre). Once you have the go ahead concerning the plan, I have always set a target date and let the entire firm have access to the site in progress, this allows for direct input from the client, and allows you to clarify what is achievable in the timeframe as well as defining the scope of the proposed site. Assuring all partners are on board with the plan also avoids headaches of inner fighting amongst themselves, with you (for the most part)...

...ATVs, scooters, automobiles and marine engines. Founded in 1909 and incorporated in 1920, it has 120 distributors in 191 countries. When Suzuki needed an updated web experience and more control over their content they looked to their agency of record, Questus, who recommended Sitecore. Challenge The purpose of Suzuki’s site is to market their products and drive customers to their local dealers. The dealers are the ones selling the Suzuki products, so it’s important for Suzuki to keep their dealers happy. • Dealer Locator – a tool to help end users find the dealer nearest them • Dealer Center - A place for dealers to access all of the latest promotions and participate in dealer-only programs Previously, Suzuki was using an aging home-grown CMS to manage their web content. However, the interface wasn’t user friendly and it required a developer to make any changes to the content, which was costly and time-consuming, not to mention error-prone. E-commerce and promotions were also a challenge to manage on the previous site. • Increased video content – to show things like motorcycle walk-arounds and technical interviews about the products For the new site, Suzuki wanted more control over the content, and they needed to allow people other than developers to manage the content. Other must have features included: • Social...

...product. However, we did find a few things that we believe would enhance the manual. We all agreed that the illustrations within the manual could be better detailed. Right now, they are simply drawn illustrations that don’t accurately portray the product and use. We strongly believe that actual images of the use of the product (can be either in color or black and white) would work a lot better and provide a clearer image of the product and its use. Another item we decided on was creating a table of contents. Although the manual is short and to the point, it can still benefit from having a table of contents. This will allow for the consumer to quickly find the section they are looking for without having to look over the entire manual to find it. Also, the “technical specifications” section should be right after the diagram showing the parts of the can opener. The manual should be broken into different sections (which of course would be outlined in the table of contents). We believe the sections should be begin with something like introduction, warning/caution, how-to use your new can opener, etc. Each section will provide great detail and clarity so that the consumer understands how to operate the can opener and understands the safety precautions. We believe the manual should have a step-by-step process for cleaning and maintaining the can opener, instead of just suggestions. That way the consumer feels more confident that there is a proven process in place to extend the...
