What being an American means to you.

America is essentially a spot on earth where individuals display with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. There is a saying, words usually can't do a picture justice; yet to me, the word America is justified regardless of a thousand photos. I have seen numerous photos of America, however not one has caught how superb it really is. America is a position of opportunity, where the individuals are ensured normal rights; rights that have been detracted from natives of different nations. Natives from spots like China would be shot for contradicting their administration; wherein America, we have the right to speak freely, ensured by the first revision. America is a place where there is fresh chances to succeed, where the administration deals with the natives, training, making a general public with a higher expectation for everyday life. America has helped numerous workers set up groups, differentiating the nation with natives from the plunge of the settlers, as well as ethnic greater parts and minorities well.
America has advanced from a spot where the men commanded all parts of life to a spot where ladies and men share essentially the same balance in the family unit, working environment, and social scenes. In spite of the fact that wrongdoing and bigotry lash out all through the nation, individuals are not being executed for their convictions. For instance, Hitler ruled with dread, executing individuals on the grounds that they were diverse. Like Hussein, Hitler represented a risk to society and imperiled the lives of numerous individuals. No president so far has attempted to make a perfect society, where they slaughter individuals by the hundreds simply due to the shading of their hair or eyes are characteristic. Not at all like different nations where racial combination is looked downward on, America sees every native with a potential, and judge them not with the shading of their skin, but rather their brain. America has developed out of isolation and combination is presently essentially looked upon with open arms.
Being an American and how its center qualities have impacted my life it implies that I live in a nation where I have the opportunities to do things that other individuals can't. Likewise, there is a ton of differing qualities here and a considerable measure of things to do. It implies that I don't need to be perplexed about going eager or without any of the necessities that I have to survive.
To be an American implies numerous things to me. To be an American implies that you are a piece of one of the best nations in the entire world. To be an American implies that you have flexibility, to do virtually what you need, and to say what you need. It implies that you have uniformity, in light of the fact that everybody is given an equivalent risk in America. It implies that you right to go out and pursue your fantasies, and take a stab at your objectives. To be an American additionally implies that you are a subject in a standout amongst the most various nations on the planet, and that you must figure out how to acknowledge everybody and their societies, in light of the fact that you are one individual from a whole nation. I believe being an American implies that you have the essential opportunities that each person merits.

The thing that emerges most in my brain when I consider America is opportunity. America is known as the place where there is the free, and that is legal. Particularly when contrasted with different nations, similar to China for instance. In China they aren't even permitted to say certain things without discipline. In any event being an American I can talk my mind without worrying over being rejected.
I'm permitted to talk my understanding, and do what I need in America. There is a farthest point to what I'm permitted to do, however contrasted with different nations we have it really great. Most things that I'm not permitted to would I wouldn't like to do in any case, on the grounds that it would be something like executing or burglarizing somebody, which I wouldn't have any desire to do at any rate.
When I consider being an American I additionally consider fairness. America is a spot where everybody should be dealt with just as and generally that is valid. Individuals in America are dealt with similarly, and it is additionally illegal to do something awful to somebody, particularly when it is a result of partiality and is known as a contempt wrongdoing. Which serves to ensure everybody's balance in America. Different nations don't have correspondence, and not everybody is given an equivalent chance at things not at all like here in America, where opportunity occurs.

These people were looking for more than just rights and privileges. Their real desire was to become something that represents pride and honor, an American. Being an American means much more than living in the United States. Along with the name come a number of different benefits such as, freedom of speech to express your own opinion, freedom of religion, and equality for all, including different sexes, races, religions and status. As an American you have the right to speak your mind. Expressing one’s opinion is a big part of being American. This particular freedom enables us to serve our country, as we stand up for what is both right and just. Being American also means that not only do we have the opportunity to overcome challenges by coming together to find solutions that those from other countries can’t but we also have the freedom to worship as we please. Unlike other countries, American’s are not defined in terms of religion. This question was posted on my Facebook page for some insight. As expected, some of the comments were uneducated dribble. One comment that stood out came from my brother-in-law. He is a Swedish citizen but resides in the United States. He wrote “The question is mind-bogglingly complex. To be American (or...

First of all being an American means that you should treat everybody equally. No matter the race, gender, or age. I feel like as long as you're in this country you should get treated how somebody that was born in this country gets treated. To this day people are still talking about building walls, or getting the mexicans or illegals out so that we have more jobs and i don’t think that is right. They should have as much freedom and should get treated the exact same as us. That is one of the reasons why our country is messed up now because people keep messing with people that are minding their own business and then they end up bombing us or there is a terrorist attack. If they would mind their own business then we would be ok there would probably be a lot more peace....

Identity Essay

...Stephanie Moore Mrs. Christenson AP Lang-Period 5 29 November 2012 If someone was to ask you, what do you identify yourself as, what would you say? Would you say you are American, foreign, black, and white, etc.? In my opinion, being an American is only half of my identity. I Identify myself as a young, strong African American woman striving to make it in this stereotypical, unfair nation we call a country. Being an American means to come together as one, a “melting pot” and being proud of your country, or patriotism. Although I am an American, I am also a young African American girl who is not only considered a minority, but also trying to keep up with this ever changing, corrupt society. Being an American means coming together and taking pride in your country. Some describe our country as a melting pot; others would beg to differ, considering how different our country is as far as cultures and ethnicities. We may be one as a country physically, but mentally we are not. Mentally, we all see ourselves differently through our cultures and ethnicities. Different cultures come to America every day from across the globe. People, who are very close to their culture or religions, will only associate with those who have the same beliefs as them. For example, if someone practices Christianity, they would separate themselves, or refrain from associating with those who are atheists. This is only because Christians feel that they should only associate with those who are Christians...

What Is an American

...What is an American? By Bryan Butler To be an American is to question authority and fight for what you believe in. To be an American is to strive for that impossible dream no matter what it takes. Being an American means that you stand by your neighbor when our homes are threatened. Being an American gives you the right to fight for the freedoms our ancestors had given up so much for. An American is a person that is willing to fight for what he or she believes in. In 1861, eleven states declared their secession from the United States of America. Over four years where some of the most gruesome battles were fought over economic, social and political views. While the example given is not a pretty picture, it is a prime example of what it means to be a true American. Those states fought for what they believed in and what they wanted. And thus, their actions helped shape the United States of America we know today. An American is a person that never stops dreaming. Our country was founded on the hopes and dreams of people seeking salvation from tyranny. Settlers wanted something very different than to just follow orders blindly in a strict classed society. In the early 1600's, settlers starting arriving on North America's shores. They had no idea what to expect, but it did not matter to them. Those settlers dreamt of a life without the chains of English society, and they would march through whatever fire they had to go through to live that dream. For some it meant...

If you or your parents were born in another country, how would you define the national identity of that country? (For example, what does it mean to be Dominican or Chinese?) Nationality for a Dominican would represent my parents and I lived there Republic defines our identity. The same goes for Chinese my parents were born in China then their nationality would be defined as Chinese means. 5. How can the concept of a national identity both unite and divide people? Students from different states or countries offer the classroom a cultural masterpiece that is designed to somehow work and at times this can be an accomplishment. A world of separation exists that can cause a series of emotions especially in regards to a student’s cultural background or race.
