...Fast Food Vs. Home Cooked Meals Monica Hill COM/155 February 9, 2013 Joseph Powell In today’s society most Americans prefer fast food to home cooked meals. Everyone needs food to survive, however eating fast food rather than a home cooked meal may not be the ideal choice. The difference between fast food and home cooked meals has several differences like preparation time, convenience, and quality. Health problems seem to be linked to the types of foods we eat. Obesity one of the number one issue in the United States alone. Fast foods are blamed for causing the majority of the obesity problems here in America today. Fast food is a convenient food that is usually faster to get and sometimes ready at the time it is wanted. Ultimately fast food slows the metabolism down with all the calories and unhealthy ingredients that can cause people to be overweight which can lead to obesity if we continue to consume as much as we do on a daily basis. An alternative to fast food is a good home cooked meal. Home cooked meals can help fight the war against obesity. Home cooked meals may take time, that most American’s don’t have these days, however they are much healthier for everyone. Cardiovascular health is affected by the foods put into our bodies. Fast food causes a much higher risk of heart disease because of the extra saturated and trans fats in the foods. Trans fats are found in french fries, fried chicken, fried fish sandwiches, biscuits, fried apples, and other...

Advertise more on print as well as electronic media, so as to position themselves in the minds of the consumers, just like domino’s and pizza hut. 2. Decorate their interiors and lightings creatively so as to attract the consumers. 3. Introduce low budget pizzas so as to attract the teenagers and middle- income group people. ...school her next goal was to lose weight. Melissa weighed 230 lbs. and she didn’t have any health issues, but lately she was feeling tired, having headaches, and have been stressed out. So she decided to join a gym membership because she felt like she had no motivation working out at home. She went to the gym five days a week for two weeks, but then it started going down to two or three times a week. She wasn’t eating strictly clean but started eating healthier foods. She did lose about 5 lbs. in two weeks, but then she stopped working out and continued binge eating and gained more than 5 lbs. during that time. So I tried to encourage her by going back to the gym and also preparing her meals for the week. I also told her instead of binge eating when she get stressed to go walking instead. I tried everything I could to help her lose the weight. I told her that she would feel a change in her body if she ate right and left the sugar and fatty foods alone. Many people don’t realize how harmful junk food can be to their body along with lack of exercise. Setting a goal to get rid of junk food and eating healthier can sometimes be very hard to do. We are either in a rush to stop by a fast food restaurant or going to the vending machine when we’re hungry, instead of prepacking lunch and healthy snacks. It’s easy to say that you are going to change your eating habits, but doing it takes will power and consistency. The purpose of this proposal is to explain the importance in ways that...

...Obesity in America a Family Epidemic Tamara Garwood American InterContinental University Abstract What comes to mind when you see an overweight child or adult? Do your thoughts lead you to automatically blame the individual for not being more physically active, eating correctly, or do you blame the parents for not monitoring the consumption of the child? It is easy to automatically draw judgment on those that are overweight in our society because, although obesity is more prevalent in our society, it is still seen as socially unacceptable. This paper will seek to understand the contributing factors to obesity as external, internal, or environmental. Obesity in America A Family Epidemic In addressing the problem we must first discuss the main points that are essential to understanding why obesity is increasing in the U.S. and most of all among our children. The initial analysis of environment, choice of nutritious meals, as well as the influence of society will provide insight to the cause as well as the solution to the obesity epidemic. Once examined the data will prove the argument presented at hand. The main contributors to obesity among adults but especially among youth are, environmental factors, lack of choosing nutritious meals, portion distortion and the factor that fuels all of these, advertising media. So what defines an individual as being obese? Childhood Obesity Action Coalition-OAC.( n.d.) states “A child is defined as “obese” if their body mass...

...and iron cage concepts to be valid. No matter where we go today, we are faced with McDonaldization. So, to some extent, all of us are caged on a daily basis by the over-rationalization of society. The velvet cage is a reflection in my life because I literally grew up on McDonald’s assembly-line Happy Meals. As a result of becoming comfortable with McDonaldization, I have grown to depend on fast, predictable products and services in all areas of my life. For instance, I take my clothes to a 24-hour dry cleaners. I use JiffyLube to quickly change the oil in my car. Almost every day, I access an ATM machine instead of standing in line at the bank. And, I pay for and pump my own gas without ever seeing an attendant. Although, having said that, there are alternatives to some of these examples of McDonaldization. Therefore, I do not feel defenseless against this process because there is comfort in knowing that (for example) fast food restaurants are a steadfast viable choice for a quick meal when you do not have a lot of time to shop for healthier, better quality foods. Let’s face it. Realistically, we live in a contemporary society today that is on the move. We want what we want, at the exact time that we want it. And, for that convenience, there will be times when I am willing to compromise quality for quantity. On the other hand, Ritzer’s ideas on the iron cage are also a reflection in my life. Whenever I do have the time, which isn’t often, I will “fight back”...

...and mini bar. In Radicor Hotel Darling Harbour, the food and beverage revenue is moving in on the room revenue, in 2011 May, the former already overtook the later. Hotel Radicor key data shows that in the seven areas, restaurant Abbey happened to be the one that keep decreasing from 2009 to 2011. Compared the total revenue from 2009 and 2010, it dropped 30%, it was an unacceptable number for a manager, the following year, 2011, was not good enough, either. On the contrary, the other restaurant in the hotel, Deli, was doing excellent, its total revenue was continually increasing, from 2009 to 2010, it raised 24%, and did not stop rising. While other food and beverage fields’ performances were comparatively stable. Respect Every Negative Review To meet customers expectation is never an easy task to do, as Levitt noticed that with services, “You don’t know what you aren’t going to get until you don’t get it.” (Levitt, 1980) Hence good reputation always take years to build, however, it could fall into nothing due to few negative reviews. In order to change this plight, the hotel must find out the main reasons that push the dollar away. John Trevallin pointed out that the robotic, untrained service in restaurant Abbey was very unexpected in such a fancy restaurant, and the dishes were really well mixed, just not mixed in the matching way, it even came out with a whole new bad taste....

...INTRODUCTION It is a well-known fact that one of the most effective ways to increase engagement on social media platforms is through the use of quality photographs. And what better way for a restaurant to show off its offerings than through the use of photography? EXCEPTIONAL FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY Both in print and online is an important aspect of a restaurant’s branding and marketing yet may restaurants overlook this. Either they use stock photography that doesn’t represent their menu or they use poorly lit photos by an amateur. It’s important to remember that we eat with our eyes first. Having appetizing, food photos is a sure-fire way to grab someone’s attention when they’re checking you out online and to draw your customer’s attention when they’re in your restaurant. But take heed, many restaurants have amazing food photography, but the final product is nothing like what it looks like. This doesn’t mean that you have to plate exactly as the photo, but it does mean you’ve got to deliver on taste IMPORTANCE OF FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY IN MARKETING YOUR FOOD BUSINESS! Great pictures of food can make our mouths water and our stomachs ache for a particular product. This simple fact yields results that would normally only happen via live sampling and literally can save you thousands of dollars introducing a new product to consumers via distribution of photographs on websites, packaging, coupons, ads, and flyers. THE AESTHETIC AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF FOOD...

You along with other freshman athletes get to become familiar with the campus and what is expected out of an athlete here at Florida State. During the week, you are grouped with people from other sports so that you can get to know other people besides your teammates. In your group you do small bonding exercises and team work activities. One activity was a campus scavenger hunt where you have to take pictures in front of certain buildings and this allows you to get familiar with your new school. Summer is an easier adjustment from high school to college compared to fall. During summer you are required to take only two classes and have only early morning workouts. Having the afternoon to yourself is a good feeling because there is not much free time in the fall being a student athlete. Being a baseball player, you live in Whitehall Apartments which is right off campus. Living in the apartments with three other teammates and right next door to four others, you get to bond easily with each other. Transitioning from having your laundry done for you and having your own meals cooked for you to doing everything yourself is different at first but you learn to take care of yourself and your place. Living in the apartments also teaches you how to be responsible as you have to pay rent and bills. Living in your own room with carpet...

...Mc-Donald Vs Domino’s - Comparative Analysis Determinant Of Choosing Fast Food Restaurant And Their Service Quality BY:- ANUJ CHAUHAN (FINANCE + MARKETING) ITM UNIVERSITY, SITHOLI, GWALIOR ABSTRACT SERVICE QUALITY Parasuraman et al. (1988) introduced a 22-item scale, called SERVQUAL, for measuring service quality, the model has been widely adopted across industries. The scale was tested in 4 service settings different from those of the original test: a dental school patient clinic, a business school placement center, a tire store, and an acute care hospital. In service industries, customer satisfaction is always influenced by the quality of interactions between customers and the personnel involved in the contact services (1994). In the last decade, the movement towards quality had started to spread from the manufacturing sector to the service sector. The shift of focus to quality is basic for the service business to survive the competition, get acceptance from society, and be able to achieve its missions. In principle, the two main things closely related to services are expected quality and experienced or perceived quality. The first is the customers' expectations of service quality and the latter is the customers' perceptions of service quality. The customers will always assess the services they experienced by comparing them with whatever they expected or wished to receive. Services are behavioral rather than physical entities and have been described...
