The summary of three videos that I chooses, as women continue their upward trajectory in the business world, they have yet to be fully appreciated for the unique qualities and abilities they bring to the workplace. It’s impossible to respect, value and admire great leadership if you can’t identify what makes a leader great. As a leader of some organization woman was surrounded by strong-willed, hardworking and purpose-driven women. It is through their leadership that the traditions, values and legacy of our family have been upheld. They have taught that a woman’s instincts and emotional intelligence can be off the chart. For a man it so difficult to understand about what women thinking, because what woman thinking and what man thinking is have a little different. Also in woman act and innovation, unless he has been closely influenced by the women in his life. I’ve learned that women may process things differently and in their own terms. ...Pulp Fiction In summary, I tend to strongly agree with John Haynes that the film’s crossover success as sort of an “Indiewood” (pg. 712) genre contains immense irony, as the film definitely encompasses such a star-studded cast, particularly through Travolta’s renowned casting (pg. 711), which reflect typical Hollywood and also the movie’s loyalty to some facets of mainstream films with its cultural allusions; however, the author also specifies clearly that the film adamantly projects elements of its own distinctive style and also infuses aspects that deeply strays from mainstream films, which I totally agree with without any qualm. Hayes also seems to further imply that we can “expect the unexpected” from this disorienting film as a whole, a statement that characterizes the essence of this movie for me as well. In particular, the Haynes also cites numerous examples of how the film is anything “but a conventional film” (pg. 696) in terms of its contents, style, symbolisms, etc. Examples such as the “you play with matches” shots (pg. 696), its use of 1950s iconic allusions, along with it’s playful tone (pg. 697), as well as its postmodern emphasis on surfaces and reflections (pg....

...SUMMARY of the extract from the novel "To Kill the Mockingbird" by Harper Lee In the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" the scene is laid in a small American town in Alabama. The given extract depicts a trial of Tom Robinson, a coloured man, who is in the criminal dock on a capital charge of assaulting a white girl. His defending counsel Atticus Finch is an experienced lawyer and a progressive-minded man known for his humane views. His taking up the case was an act of courage in the American world of prejudice. The story is told by Jean Louise, Atticus's daughter, who watched the progress of the trial and being a lawyer's daughter did not fail to feel the atmosphere in the court-room and see the futility of her father's efforts to win the case. It is Atticus's speech to the jury that takes up the best part of the text. Moved by his sympathy for the black man and his desire to stand for his rights Atticus spoke most convincingly and with a great emotional force. He pointed it out to the jury that the case was simple enough. Having thoroughly considered every piece of the evidence submitted Atticus exposed the false testimony of the witnesses and proved that the defendant was innocent while the guilt lay with the white girl, the chief witness for the state. It was she who had tempted the Negro thus breaking the code of the society she lived in. Next she would throw the blame on Tom Robinson thus putting his life at stake. Atticus condemned Tom Robinson's accusers for their hypocrisy...

The elders had a grand ceremony in which they burnt a few townspeople and hung Dr. Pangloss while Candide watched in fear. Dr. Pangloss taught Candide to believe no matter what happens to you in life it is good for you. After watching the people being burnt and Dr. Pangloss being hung, Candide began to wonder if this is the best of all possible worlds, where are the others? Candide was happy as well as confused to see Dr. Pangloss alive a well again. Dr. Pangloss told Candide the story how he was cut open by a surgeon, beat on the head by the surgeons wife because she thought he was the devil lying on the table, stitched up by a Portuguese barber and nursed back to health by the barbers wife. Candide asked him after all he has encountered if he still believes everything...

...Affairs Programme 1 ITN National and World News This programme is a national type and is broadcast right across the British Isles on a daily basis. It is not a specialist programme in the sense that it does not focus on one particular genre of news.eg sport, instead it covers every area and delivers it in a formal manner. The particular programme that I have taken notes on appeared on our screens and was broadcast on 10/10/10 at 6:00pm. It was presented by Alastair Stewart and Mary Nightingale and the headlines of each individual story were read out in the studio. This was then followed by images and graphics appearing on screen as the voice-overs of the news presenters could clearly be heard explaining the story. The first story that was covered was about how the Vitamin B could potentially benefit people that suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. The first part of this story used graphics on the screen as well as the use of voice-overs to narrate what the diagrams and statistics on screen meant. The story then progressed into interviews with experts on the matter, all of a medical background and with extensive knowledge in Alzheimer’s disease and also the Vitamin B. These interviews were taken in medical rooms with clear equipment and charts visible on camera the whole time to reiterate the issue. Finally the story was concluded with footage of old age pensioners who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and a summary voice over being made on the subject. The...

...“Reality” television [738 words] Summary of When Reality TV Gets Too Real by Jeremy W. Peters [153 words] In When Reality TV Gets Too Real, Jeremy W. Peters debates the ethics of not stopping dangerous situations from happening on Reality Television. For this, several examples of such occurrences are cited, first when a participant took up drunk driving in the show Intervention, as well as similar episodes in Breaking Bonaduce, The Real World and Road Rules, and citing lawsuits against Big Brother, Kid Nation and Extreme Makeover, the last one getting sued for something else entirely. A number of occasions is also named where the producer of Intervention stops dangerous situations from developing, namely when to prevent suicide, drunk driving and to call paramedics in the event of an overdose. The article also states that the practise of simply filming while not stopping developing catastrophes are not technically illegal but somewhat unethical. ...consumer, though these are important too. Marketing Strategy is about identifying a positioning, a clear plan for creating value for a specific and well-defined customer group. It’s about delineating a way that you will create more value for the customer you’ve chosen to serve than your competition does, because that’s how you win. Finally and importantly, it’s about creating that value for the customer in a way that creates superior value for the firm. Points of execution— communications pieces, revenue capture mechanisms, distribution partner’s incentive structures, product and service design specifications—are all both interesting and important to successful execution of a well-founded strategy.
