As a result from a generous number of studies, I understand that college is completely worth every struggle it will put on you. From the general things you may hear your parents or teachers say, it can seem like it’s just a part of school or life, but once the time is near that you actually have to think about it, the idea of it may change. All it seems like is another couple of years of school that were harder than the last and will just earn you more money over a long period of time. Well, the facts are way more spectacular than they seem putting it that way. Going to college really will help you out in the long run, and it will help a lot. It can give you easy access to more jobs, give you experiences with different types of people …show more content…
On top of creating bonds, knowing more people will be helpful for future references and can help you learn. Schools are of the top places that people meet their best friends because you spend so much time by the people there, especially if they are your roommate. Jen Ruiz stated that going to college let her have an experience to interact with others on her own and join activities or clubs like sororities. She says joining a college sorority let her know what it felt like to have sisters, which she never had but wanted. It even taught her life lessons, she quotes, such as understanding the value of philanthropy by the teachings or feelings of those surrounding her, and gaining invaluable mentorship. If you don’t go to college, creating strong bonds in groups like sororities and other clubs will be very …show more content…
Earning minimum wage working at a place like McDonalds won’t be enough for you to live out of poverty. You’ll need something better, and the majority of those better jobs aren’t high-school graduate worthy. “College graduates ages 25 to 32 who were working full time now typically earn about $17,500 more annually than employed young adults with just a high school diploma.” (Hope Yen). A good job is worth that $17,500 extra a college graduate can earn. “Over the long run, college is cheaper than free. Not going to college will cost you about half a million dollars.” (David Leonhardt). As long as you do your part, this statement is also true. Money is becoming more and more important for your success in these times. With it, you can do many things. Not going to college is basically like procrastinating, and procrastinating never wins. For example, if you cut out the dreadful sounding more years of school now, thinking you will live fine with a just low-paying job, you are putting yourself in a hugely risky situation just so you don’t have to live the nightmares of college: living on your own, being broke, desperate for a job, and having school even harder on you for more years. In the end, though, you will get way more sick of working for almost nothing everyday than going to school for four more years to earn

"Do The Benefits Of College Still Outweigh The Costs?." Current Issues In Economics & Finance 20.3 (2014): 1-12. Academic Search Complete. Web. 6 Mar. 2016. People who graduated with a college degree still questions whether college was a good investment for them. “Do the Benefits of College Still Outweigh the Costs?” addresses how students who graduated with a college degree are still unemployed and in debt. Furthermore, students have paid more to attend college and earning less upon graduation. This academic journal compares both the pros and cons of attending college. It contains graphs and illustrations that contribute more data about increasing tuition and how it affects your decision about whether to attend college. “The total costs to attend a 4-year college outweighs some people’s home value.” I thought this quote summarizes the academic journal very briefly. “Do the Benefits of College Still Outweigh the Costs?” is a scholarly source and an academic journal. The data in it is really reliable for my research paper. It contains graphs and illustrations which could be used to make conclusions. This academic journal is more biased towards the people who believe that the benefits of college do not outweigh the costs. I could potentially use this source to support my thesis more efficiently...

Why Collge Is Important to Me

...Why College is Important to Me College is important to me for a couple of reasons. The reasons that going to college are important to me are so that I can prove to myself that I am capable of completing something as challenging as college and to show my children that no matter how long it takes, you can complete your goals and dreams. At the age of sixteen I dropped out of high school. I was not being challenged, the work was boring and the drama of high school was more than I wanted to be a part of. I had dreams of becoming a model and someday having a family. I began working immediately and was very happy. At the age of 18, I became pregnant and got married and soon had two children. I don’t believe that I am a typical college student, most students are looking to further their career or make more money; to find that new career. For me, it’s not about a new job or more money, but a sense of personal accomplishment and a desire to be an example to my kids. College View advises “more than ever, attending college provides opportunities for graduates which are not as widespread to those who have not received a higher education.” I didn’t believe that a college education was important. I thought that having a job, being a mom and being a functioning part of the society was enough. Until now, it was. I now have four children and each of them are starting their futures with a college education. I want to teach my children how important a college education is. According...

That is why in recent years high schools have started to encourage students to pursue a college education as well as begin to prepare the students for college. The current methods high schools are implementing offer general ways of preparing students for college that are often times ineffective and lack proper execution. Since college preparation is critical for high school students to increase their chance of successfully graduating from college, it is now more crucial than ever before to provide proper college preparation for tomorrow’s college students. However college preparation requires more than just helpful techniques for studying and teaching yourself. College preparation also requires a good amount of hard work and learning core subjects that form the foundation for which we build our knowledge upon in college. We are aware that the majority of future jobs involve science, mathematics, and technology skills to be successful in, that is why our tutoring subjects...

Why You Should Consider Trade School Instead Of College Summary

...CONSIDERING TRADE SCHOOL AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO COLLEGE The only conclusion that can be arrived at once reading the article “Why You Should Consider Trade School Instead of College” is that trade school delivers the most lucrative incentives for students. The incentive of this paper is to provide a synopsis of the reading. The compelling considerations the writer presents are derived from comprehensively offering comparisons and analysis. Coincidentally, such key factors: cost of tuition comparison, graduating challenges and percentages, length of time used to acquire a degree, and finally, the potential economic conditions with respect to the article where critically presented. The writer developed a targeted argument to underscore that while it was commendable and not only justifiable to attend a traditional four year college, there is more reason to justify trade school as the main choice to develop a career. Interestingly, the writer presents an argument that while options for future development are restricted due to the targeted vocational nature of trade school education as opposed to that of traditional college options. Coincidentally, it is within this context that the writer identifies the singularity of purpose behind why such a consideration is the most lucrative and the only reasonable considerable conclusion. Now that the paper has briefly introduce a synopsis into the context of the reading it will now develop and reinforce support for its position by relating the...

Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission

...Summary: “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” by Andrew Hacker and Claudia Dreifus, presents proposals “that might begin to set things right’ (TSIS, 180) in education. Both professors, Hacker and Dreifus, studied institutions and interviewed higher education leaders, policy makers, and students across the country (180). According to their voluntary assignment, they acknowledged at first, their belief that “all Americans can do college work,” which basically provided a thesis for every proposal to follow within their article. Suggestions, such as persuading students to liberate their imagination instead of just focusing on a financial goal after graduating, or “replacing tenure with multi-year contracts” (181) so that all professors begin to take more initiative to improve, gave way to a deeper analysis of specific colleges and their priorities. My Response: In the article, “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” by Andrew Hacker and Claudia Dreifus, both professors maintains a perspective that is convincing, to a degree. “We believe all Americans can do college work, so universal enrollment should be our nation’s goal” (180). In making this comment, Hacker and Dreifus urge us to do the obvious. Of course everyone should have the same opportunity to be accepted at the collegiate level, but there are several problems that have to be addressed and taken care of prior to the suggestion of this desire for all. If there was universal enrollment, will that lead to...

The passion is obviously there, so it makes the game more intense, more energetic, and more intense. In recent years, a conflict has occurred as in deciding if college athletes should receive a salary or not. College athletes should not get paid...
