...The Romans Road Summary of Method: The Romans road is a term that was coined by Dr. Jack Hyles in the late 1940’s (www.Jack Hyles.com, 2011), and uses multiple verses from the Book of Romans to easily walk an unbeliever through the steps of salvation. Starting with Romans 3:10-12, 23 “As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”(NKJV) And working your way through seven or eight verses you can get an unbeliever from recognizing that they are a sinner in need of salvation to being saved to one who can be saved through the grace of God. The end being that the person understands and accepts Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (NKJV) Advantages of using this method: There are only a few verses in this method and they are very easy to memorize which allows the person witnessing to stay on track, and avoid the need to thumb through your Bible to look for the appropriate verse. People want to know that you know what you are talking about, and that you are confident and comfortable talking about a topic. Even if the person decides not to take any further action at least you know you have given them a solid Bible based argument for their need of salvation. Disadvantages of using this method: While this is a great method if you are in kind of a hurry and don’t particularly have a whole lot of time...

...Home > Why Hamlet Delays His Revenge Why Hamlet Delays His Revenge (Excerpt from Quintessence of Dust: The Mystical Meaning of Hamlet) Kenneth Chan ... Hamlet is finally alone, and the stage is set for the soliloquy that gave rise to one of the most persistent mysteries in literature: Why does Hamlet delay his revenge? Hamlet Ay, so, God buy you. Now I am alone. Oh, what a rogue and peasant slave am I! Is it not monstrous that this player here, But in a fiction, in a dream of passion, Could force his soul so to his whole conceit1 That from her working all his visage wanned, Tears in his eyes, distraction in his aspect, A broken voice, and his whole function suiting With forms to his conceit? And all for nothing! For Hecuba! What's Hecuba to him, or he to Hecuba, That he should weep for her? What would he do Had he the motive and the cue for passion That I have? He would drown the stage with tears, And cleave the general ear with horrid speech, Make mad the guilty and appal the free,2 Confound the ignorant, and amaze indeed The very faculties of eyes and ears. Yet I, A dull and muddy-mettled3 rascal, peak Like John-a-dreams,4 unpregnant5 of my cause, And can say nothing--no, not for a king, Upon whose property and most dear life A damned defeat was made. Am I a coward? Who calls me a villain, breaks my pate across, Plucks off my beard and blows it in my face, Tweaks me by the nose, gives me the lie i'th'throat As deep as to the lungs? Who does me this? Ha, 'swounds, I should take...

He has been watching a year for the fire signal that will announce Troy’s capture, and all is not well within the house. He sees the beacon at last and will tell Clytemnestra, Agamemnon’s wife. He rejoices at the news for it means his master will be coming home. Parodos or Entry of the Choros, who are Elders of Argos, counsellors to the Queen Regent. They chant about the expedition against Troy. The sons of Atreus (Agamemnon and Menelaus) are seen as birds whose nest has been robbed by the stealing of Helen. Par is who stole her thereby offended against Zeus, the God of the host and guest. With legal images the old men say that Paris will be punished. They themselves were too old to go to war ten years ago; like the old man in the Sphynx’s riddle they lean on staffs. Clytemnestra enters with slaves to make sacrifice at the altars; the choros ask her why sacrifices are being made but she ignores them and does not answer. The choros continue with the first Ode, a song about Aulis and what happened there, The omen of the pregnant hare attacked by the eagles: Calchas the prophet interpreted it to mean that Troy would fall but that the goddess...

...Dissertation by Ishfaque Ahmad 1 Chapter 1 – Introduction Chapter 1 – Introduction “At a time when the Government is tackling the deficit, against a backdrop of global financial uncertainty, it is vital that we focus relentlessly on cracking down on those that break the law and making sure that everyone pays the tax they owe” (HM Revenue & Customs, 2012, p. 4) Every year the UK Government spends billions of pounds to provide a better life for its citizens. Most of the money the Government is spending comes from tax revenue. Tax revenue allows the Government to budget expenditure such as education, health and welfare, housing, protection, re-paying national debts and improving the infrastructure. Without tax revenue, the government would not be able to fund the projects and services that people require. Following the recent recession and the global financial crisis it is important to increase tax revenue for economic growth and keeping the economy moving. The majority of the UK’s individuals and businesses pay their share of tax honestly. However, a minority deliberately seek to evade or avoid paying what they owe while benefiting from the public services (HM Revenue & Customs, 2013). As a result the Government does not receive enough tax as budgeted but spends more than what is collected. This is called budget deficit. It leads to either cuts in the budget of projects or borrowing money from other nations to fill up the deficit. Borrowing is an expensive...

...Overview/Summary The article called “Many Women Leave Engineering, Blame The Work Culture” basically demonstrates the phenomenon of women in engineering majors leaving the field and choosing to work in other occupations. There are many reason that the author provided in this article to explain why this type of situation is happening in today’s society. First of all, the author claims that “Conventional wisdom says that women in engineering face obstacles such as glass ceiling, a lack of self-confidence and a lack of mentors” (St. Fleur, 2014). A psychologist called Nadya Fouad surveyed over 5,300 women who graduated with an engineering degree and found out that only a small part of the population remained in this field in the end. And she says...

...PERSPECTIVE Strategic Brand Management BSNS 7454 | Robert Davis K a t h a r i n a L e o n h a r d t - B S N S 7 4 5 4 , A 2 |1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY When people talk about the internet, they often talk about Google as well. Google made it possible for millions of people to get as much information possible, in a very short time, and what is most important, in a very convenient way. How did this happen? Google was founded in 1996 by two young students of Stanford University, Larry and Sergey. They managed to build a company with more than 53,000 employees, working in more than 40 countries worldwide. While always updating their website, they also developed and acquired new services and features, such as Gmail, Google Earth and Maps, YouTube. With the increase of internet users, also more people used Google over time. Not only consumers use Google, but also companies have the possibility to place advertisements on the search engine which millions of users look at daily. This made it possible to have enormous revenues, 96% of the revenues are even gained by this system of placing advertisements. Google is easily able to analyse data through its search engine and can identify trends faster than any other company. Customers “love Google”, they admire it. How is that possible and why? First of all due to its founders, Larry and Sergey, two down-to earth men who have understood that their success would not have been possible without their employees. Furthermore, it is a valuable...

...1 RACE, GENDER, & LEADERSHIP Race, Gender, & Leadership: What Impact Does Race and Gender have on Leadership Advancement for Women and Women of Color? Dawn MJ Hyman University of Baltimore 2 RACE, GENDER, & LEADERSHIP Introduction Race and gender disparities in public leadership still plague the workplace despite the continued growth of a more diverse demographic landscape. For women and women of color, this presents a unique challenge in their aspirations for leadership positions as well as how they are perceived and behave as leaders. We will examine leadership through the context of race and gender, discuss biases, perceptions and stereotypes, compare and contrast leadership experiences between women and women of color, review leadership behavior with regards to agency, and then complete the discussion with a summary and conclusion. 3 RACE, GENDER, & LEADERSHIP Race, Gender, & Leadership: What Impact Does Race and Gender have on Leadership Advancement for Women and Women of Color? Depending on the definer, leadership has taken on a host of various definitions – with most depicting the use of power, authority, and influence to promote the actions of others for goal achievement (Yukl, 2009). Early on, while studies have been conducted on men and leadership, women – particularly women of color – were excluded completely from this research until the 1970’s and 1980’s (Chemers, 1997). It’s critical to address the current scarcity of leaders...

...Most of us can hardly imagine the suffering in the wake of the death of a young person but when this death is because of suicide the pain is even more compounding as there is no explanation. The reason why someone decides to take their own life still remains a mystery, the community are still disturbingly unaware of the prevalence of youth suicide until they experience it themselves. Although something can be done, with the introduction of suicide prevention programs to the Australian Curriculum, the education departments and its bodies would be seen as doing more towards the prevention of suicide. Youth suicide is the most concerning area of suicide and its destruction of young life has implications for the long-term affairs of our community. The Australian government identified this and in the 1995/96 commonwealth budget provided substantial funding, $13 million dollars with a combined total of $31 million by 1999. This initial funding lead to the creation of the National Youth Prevention Strategy administered by Department of Health with emphasis on promotion, prevention and early intervention. (Living is for everyone, 2008, p. 7) Since then many agencies have been proactively targeting youth suicide. In 2000 the National Youth Prevention Strategy expanded into Life is for Everyone (LIFE). LIFE is a world-class suicide and self-harm prevention resource. Dedicated to providing the best available evidence and resources to guide activities aimed at reducing the rate at which...

...40% in India, and 3% of the United States identify themselves as vegetarians.” Vegetarians can be separated into four distinct groups. The first is lacto-ovo vegetarians, also known as partial vegetarians. They exclude red meat, fish, and poultry from their diets, but still eat dairy products and eggs. The second is lacto vegetarians which exclude red meat, fish, poultry, and eggs but still include dairy products. The third group is pescetarians. This group avoids red meat and poultry, but eats fish. The last group is vegans and they have the strictest diet as they avoid eating all animal products including red meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy products. There are several reasons why people become vegetarian. Amita Handa expresses that people become vegetarians because “social reasons, political and religious beliefs, and financial problems.” Another notable reason people switch from nonvegetarian is because of their frustration with the cruel and unusual treatment of animals. Vegetarianism is mostly linked with positive effects on physical health as evidenced by lower body mass index, lower blood pressure, and reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. A vegetarian diet contributes to a person having a lower Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI is a weight-to-height ratio. About 68.8% of American adults are considered obese. Joan Sabate and Michelle Wein state that “epidemiologic studies have consistently shown that vegetarians are thinner than comparable nonvegetarians.” They go on...
