...ready to go compete for Best of Breed (each dog or bitch entered has a handler the person who shows the dog).To start the competition you have to start with puppy dogs then open dogs and any other class dog entries then the winners of each of these classes compete against each other for winner’s dog. Then it starts over again with the bitches. After all classes of bitches have competed, the bitches who win first in their class compete for winners bitch. Then the ring steward calls in all the specials (champion dog and bitches) then winners’ dog, winners bitch and then all the entries in the ring compete for Best of Breed. To be eligible for best owner handler the dog or bitch has to be competing for best of breed. The inside ring steward calls them in and all 8 dogs and handlers go around the ring and get evaluated by the judges. After about 15 minutes the judge starts placing his winners: Best of Breed, Best of Opposite, Best of Winners, Select Dog, and Select Bitch. AKC offers points for all dogs who win Best of Breed, Winners dog and winners’ bitch which goes towards their AKC Championship. The owner handler is an extra competition that gives an owner handler points for national rankings. Then the ring steward proceeds to tell the judge that the Best of Winners is the best owner handler (a dog or bitch owned and showed by the exhibitor and not a professional handler). Now because of an untrained ring steward the number 10th dog in the country in owner handler just lost 6 points...

...Let me take you back to 2008. I’m four, ending my first season of soccer, with a smile stretching from ear to ear plastered on my face. Why? I had gotten a trophy! Little did I know, or care, that we had lost every game that season. Fast-forward to 2014. I’m ten, ending my fourth season of basketball, throwing a temper tantrum. Why? I didn’t get a trophy. Participation trophies have become a tradition in recreational sports that spoils and ruins the competition of sports. Recreational sports organizations shouldn’t give out participation trophies because it loses value if everybody gets one, it increases narcissism and selfishness, and it doesn’t teach good work ethic. Trophies are special because they’re for winners. They lose value if everybody gets one. To start, Brenda Iasevoli, from Time for Kids, has a quote in the article “Should Everyone Get a Trophy?” saying, “‘The trophy has to stand for something,’ Dweck told TFK. ‘If we give a trophy to everyone, then the award has no value.’” Trophies are...

...2014 “The Lottery” vs. “The Rocking-Horse Winner” In “The Rocking-Horse Winner,” by D. H. Lawrence, and “The Lottery,” by Shirley Jackson, the two authors illustrate symbols and themes throughout their stories in which one common idea is present: perhaps winning is not always positive. “The Rocking-Horse Winner,” by D.H. Lawrence is a fictional story about a woman’s obsession for money and the lack of love and affection she shows to her family. Her son Paul hopes to change his mother’s mind-set in order to gain her love by becoming lucky. Paul discovers a way to become lucky from a rocking horse that he receives as a Christmas present. He perceives that this horse has magical powers, which empowers him to predict the winner of horse races. Paul becomes more and more obsessed with becoming lucky to appease his mother but eventually loses his life. “The Lottery,” by Shirley Jackson, is a short story of an annual tradition in which a small New England town randomly draws one person’s name to be the winner of the lottery. This lucky person will neither win money nor a special prize; instead are stoned to death by the rest of the community. This story gives a different meaning to the event called a lottery. D.H. Lawrence proves many points by using the following themes: obsession for money, trying to win a mother’s love and affection, gaining no affection after achieving such luck, and death. "The Rocking-Horse Winner," starts off on a great note by mentioning "There...

...Political Parties and the Electoral Process Clara O Ebulu U.S. Government - POL 110 December 13, 2014 Ideological differences between America’s Political Parties Political ideology is known to be a certain set of ethical ideals, principles, myths, doctrines, or symbols of a social movement, institution, and class that explains how society should work and offers their political and cultural blueprint for a certain order. In America, we have various parties including two major political parties known as Democrat and Republican. One ideological difference between the Democrat and Republican parties is their view on personal security. The Democrat party believe that governments should not only secure the U.S. borders but to also advance on personal security. This belief has been translated into policies that extend health care access to as many citizens as possible, raising the minimum wage and expanding unemployment insurance as a result. Republicans on the other hand, vigorously opposes this use of government, insisting that we should not be compelled to our brothers’ keeper. A second ideological difference between the two parties is personal liberty. Democrats believe that governments should not only secure our borders but also advance our personal security. As reflected in recently enacted state laws, that belief translates into policies extending health care access to as many as possible, raising the minimum wage and expanding unemployment insurance (Finkleman...

...Order Winners & Order Qualifiers According to Slack & Lewis (2011, p.56), “order qualifiers” are the factors that enable the products or services to enter the market. However, “order qualifiers” do not assure the competitiveness, the products or services provided must contain the “order winners” characters in order to win from the competition. Professor Hill from London Business School described (cited by Helms, 2006) that “order qualifiers” and “order winners” as: the previous one keeps the business running while the latter one wins more or new business. Simply, my understanding is that “order qualifiers” are the keys to open the door of the market, and “order winners” are the vital elements to improve the market position and continuous success. Slack & Lewis (2011, p.47-52) explained the concepts of “the five generic performance objectives”. They are: “quality”, “speed”, “dependability”, “flexibility” and “cost”. Some of the performance objectives play more important roles in the impact of the organization’s market position (the “external effect”) than the others. There are several reasons why it is significant that when mangers establish the relative important performance objectives, regarding to external effect, should base on the “order qualifiers” and “order winners” concept. First of all, defining “order qualifiers”, managers are able to understand the minimum standard their products or services should meet in order to keep the company stay in the market, namely...

... Francine Cheikh Guillermo Loic Munkh-Erdene Aberash Anna Submitted to: Prof. BAI MING Date of submit: 02/November/2015 An anonymous from Michigan has stepped forward as the winner of the most recent $181,5 million The Big Game Lottery. Lucky Guy! Now comes the hard part. But what happens when you actually win? Normally the answer appears to be "take all the money up front immediately and subsequently squander every available penny on frivolous crap." But what if someone won the lottery and then tried to handle it as rationally as possible? The key question we wanted to investigate is whether a winner should take all the cash up front or whether one should take the annuity, which consists of more money spaced out over several years. 1. If you were one of the winners, which option would you select ?Why? Most winners would select the cash option whereby 50% of the stated amount is paid out in a lump sum (less federal and state taxes). i.e. $90.75 million - 0.322(90.75m) = $61.53 million – the amount of money we will get after taxes. Let us outline several reasons why the lum sum option for us is more preferable against the annuity option: Many winners would probably prefer to invest the money at higher rates than the implied risk-free rate of interest that the annuity is based on. With the assistance of a solid financial adviser, you may turn your lump sum into a lifetime of income. ...

.... Introduction The method of electing the President and the Vice President of the United States of America is the Electoral College – an indirect voting system and not a national popular vote. This system was implemented by the Founding Fathers about 200 years ago (Shea 2005, 4-6) In recent times the debate about whether the Electoral College is still an effective system considering the circumstances the United States has to face now, is arising more and more. “American society is highly polarized in its perception of the existing election system” (Belenky 2012, ix). This paper has the aim to contrast the arguments against and in favor of the Electoral College and to demonstrate possible alternatives. In the conclusion an answer to the question “Should the Electoral College be reformed?” will be given. 2. How it works The Electoral College, as it is outlined in the 12th Amendment, is a body of electors chosen to elect the President and Vice President of the United States. In Article II of the Constitution the electing procedure is written down. Each state delegates a specific number of electors to the Electoral College, dependent on its representation in Congress (House of Representatives & Senate). According to the fact that each state has two Senators and at least one Representative (dependent on the size of the population in the state), each state has three electors at the minimum (for example Alaska). With 55 electors, California has the largest number at the moment...

...xmagnesium y z zinc WHY WINNERS WIN INTRO 2. Who are these winners? Are indls born winners? No winners are not born they are made. Recent researches on the winners conducted by Stanford institute concluded that only 12% of our success depends on knowledge and technical skills and 88% on positive attitude, enthusiasm, persistence and determination 3. Why do winners only win? What is that quality that separates a winner from a loser? Can everybody win? This brings me to various types of people. There are four kinds of people in this world. They are:- (a) Who watch things happen. (b) Who simply wonder what has happened. (c ) Who criticize what has happened. (d) Who makes things happen. 4. Winners are the people who make things happen. They have strong desire to achieve and they achieve what they desired. Someone said that all men are created equal, but it is what they do afterwards that makes the difference. Winners believe that every cloud has a silver lining. Some thing good can come out from every situation 5. I will tell you a story of a rich man who wanted to asses his two sons. To one of them he gave a pile of presents and the other a pile of cow dung. The one with the gifts started complaining about the missing gifts, but the second one sold the cow dung and started a business. The second boy is a winner; he felt that some...

...because they didn’t believe that the President and Vice President should be elected directly by the people and congress. The Electoral College includes 538 electors from 50 states, and the state capital calls the electors. The electors according to the constitution are responsible for electing the President and Vice President of the United States. A majority is required of 270 to win of the 538 electoral votes is needed to elect our President. The majority of the time the electors cast their votes for candidates receiving the majority votes in that particular state. Electoral votes are primarily based on the number of senators and representatives. Article II of our constitution sets guidelines on how our President should be elected and how often it states” the president “"shall hold office during the term of four years." The season begins in January for those running for presidency, as early as 2 years prior to national elections (Levin, 2012.) The pros and cons debated about whether to keep or abolish the current Electoral College process. First of all I will list the cons how a candidate should win in the Electoral College. According to archives.gov each state's electoral votes in most states are awarded on a...

...electoral votes according to its population. All of which went to candidates who win the states popular vote. Each state is allocated a number of Electors equal to the number of its U.S Senators. It’s always two plus the number of its U.S Representatives. This could vary according to the size of each State’s population as determined in the census. There’s twenty-nine electoral votes in the states of Florida. President Obama won State Electoral votes for 2012 election in Florida. Obama won Florida’s popular vote as well with 4,237,756 votes. Doing research there are some advantages and disadvantages with The Electoral College. The Electoral College protects minority interests. It preserves the voice of the States with lower populations and more rural areas. It promotes two-party system of governance. Some political activists may not be fan of the two-party system, but the Republican Verses Democrats structure creates more stability. The Electoral System allows majority of Americans favors and they may not win. It’s complicated and dissuades people from voting. A popular vote but win the electoral vote is a simple majority, The Electoral College consists of redistributing votes every 10 years. Under The Electoral College, a candidate can lose the popular vote but win The Electoral Vote and become president. This happened three times in 1876, 1888 and 2000. Many people say this is unfair which is why others think there is no point in The Electoral System. Over the long run your...

...soul-winning to ALL HIS DISCIPLES. If you are a saved, born-again Believer, then you are COMMANDED to be a soul-winner. Listen to the clear teaching of Jesus Christ Himself in Matthew 28:19 and 20, “Go ye therefore, and TEACH ALL NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: TEACHING THEM to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” It is our duty as Children of God to “teach them.” Teach who? We are to teach the Gospel of Christ to lost sinners. We are to teach those whom we lead to Christ how to win others to Christ. We are we supposed to teach them. What do we teach them? “...to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” It was the responsibility of the disciples in Jesus’ day to teach the Gospel to all nations (all people). If someone became a Believer, accepting Jesus Christ as Almighty God and Savior, then the disciples were to help that new convert grow in the Lord and become a soul-winner also. This is God’s divine plan to win the lost to Christ—We are responsible!!! I am sickened when I hear some dead-beat, backslidden Believer criticize soul-winning. The Bible praises the soul-winning Christian, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and HE THAT WINNETH SOULS IS WISE” (Proverb 11:30). It is wise to win souls to Jesus! It is wise to go soul-winning! It is wise to witness to friends, family and strangers concerning...

...thinker helps people have long lasting happy lives, my dad’s way of motivating me whenever i’m feeling down and makes you a successful person. But some people have too many problems that they can’t control so they turn to drugs or even commit suicide. Why can’t those type of people think positively? Most people just act in a negative way, we control ourselves and our actions. For an example a mindset of a positive person would be the following, the winner is always a part of the solution but the loser is always a part of the problem. The Winner always has a plan while the loser always has an excuse. The Winner says, "Let me do it for you".The Loser says, "That's not my job."The winner sees an answer for every problem. The Loser sees a problem in every answer. Research shows that in personality psychology, locus of control is when a person thinks he/she has control over the outcome of events in their lives, which is an example of a winner. The point is you choose and control your mindset. You can choose to be a winner or to be a loser.A winner takes , Makes a mistake and says: 'I was wrong.' or Credits his good luck for winning even though it wasn't luck.A loser’s mindset would be the following,Says: 'It wasn't my fault' or Says: 'I'm not as bad as a lot of people'. The brain is so powerful yet some people don’t realize, using it in a positive way can make you a leader, powerful, and possibly a genuis. You just have to set your mindset towards your goal.I remember when i was 8 years...

So, there surely isn’t a reason as to why America still needs the Electoral College, is there? The answer is no, and there’s a plethora of reason as to why. Three primary reasons to why the Electoral College should be abolished is that it’s undemocratic, it hurts the third party candidates, and it causes the small states to be over represented. One prime motive as to why the Electoral...
