Anytime I would write it was always very hard for me to explain my thoughts and put them onto paper. Now, it is still difficult but it has somehow gotten easier for me to brainstorm and once I’m done putting my ideas on paper I have the chance to revise everything and make sure people can understand what I am trying to say through my writing. During the drafting process of all three class papers I have tried different ways of brainstorming. I tried outlining and organizing what I wanted my paper to be like, I tried writing my body paragraphs before my introduction, and eventually I realized it’s just much easier for me to write as much as I can on what I’m trying to say first and once I’m done I spend a lot time fixing it, learning from the mistakes I made, and further explaining my ideas. My writing has changed mostly in my abilities to identify when something doesn’t sound right or should be phrased differently. I believe that I am very weak when it comes to grammar and organization. ...Throughout this past semester, I have learned more about writing. This has brought on a whole new style in my writing. The beginning of this semester was not ideal, how assignments were written on the papers were confusing. My first assignment in this class was not my best grade and definitely showed my confusion. Without a doubt, that continued to occur in almost every assignment. However, the essays that truly contributed to my newer depth in writing were the Three-Source Synthesis Essay, Research Paper, and this final essay. To begin, I would like to say, the synthesis essay was one of the hardest essays I have ever written. Finding the comparisons between three similar yet completely different articles was not easy. I had spent around 70 hours on this particular essay and even turning it in was nerve wrecking. Yet, this paper helped me improve my writing style greatly by pushing me to actually complete the essay. I had to learn how to find sources using the libraries website. ...My writing skills have improved enormously in this class. I have learned the importance of doing several drafts. Doing one draft and then changing a couple of things would then produce a poorly written paper. In this class, first you need to start with some sort of prewriting, this is a way to get all thoughts down and organize them on a piece of paper. After finishing my first draft of the first paper I thought that my paper was decent. I then received my critique and recognized that there was still a lot more work to be done. ...I face a lot of challenges when it comes to creating an acceptable paper. I have a negative outlook on my writing, I write a lot of cliche things, fragment sentences are my weakness, my vocabulary is poor, and I over think what is wanted from what I write. Struggling with this introduction, for instance, is one of my major weaknesses. A lot more work goes into it than there seems. I have to think “Did I capture the attention?
