Both written and spoken language need to be acquired by individuals. We use written and spoken language for the same goals: to communicate, to express our thoughts, feelings, ideas, belief, knowledge. Another parallelism is that written language and spoken language can be precise if a person use carefully them. We know, that we need to learn to speak and write. She was very pleasant to talk to, but quickly wanted to make the subject of our talk a way for her to educate and unintentionally brag.
