MY OWN HISTORY
It was on the 18th day of February 1993 when Mrs. Monette Castro gave birth to a bouncing baby girl named Ma. Kristina Arietta Izabel F. Castro. My parents prefer calling me YET. After a few months of waiting, my mom and my dad, Mr. Armando Castro finally had their exchanges of vows. At present, I have 4 siblings, but sad to say, the youngest died. I had my first school at World Foundational Learning Center followed by Dominican School in Sta. Rita, Pampanga, where I graduated with honors. During my secondary years at Holy Family Academy, which I considered a new world for me, taught me so much, especially the value of having friends. TRUE FRIEND. Now, I’m a Pharmacist in the making here at Angeles University Foundation, It helped me to become more responsible and to keep on reaching and aiming for my goal.
APPRECIATE EVERYTHING. That’s basically my first principle in life. Appreciate for having a family, friends or someone around you because it’s a necessity of a human person. I can say it’s a necessity for they are the ones who can help you discover and learn things which you still do not know. Remember that there is a saying, “No man is an island.” Yes, it’s true. For through them, you can help yourself in finding what is the essence of living in this world, what is your purpose and what else should we learn. We need them for us to be whole.
LIVE AND LET LIVE. Everyone in this world have the right to live. Even the smallest creatures around us have the right to live. Everybody has its own freewill to choose how he/she will live his /her life. People have their own answers, reasons or explanations in choosing or deciding things. This means each one of us has his own perspective in viewing those. Each of us has his own “point-of-view” which makes ourselves different from everybody else in this world. We cannot tell that one’s point-of-view is wrong for that’s the way he sees things. It’s his belief. But there’s a better way we could take to make your way and my way of viewing things common. We can help each other in letting ourselves see the things which we do not see.
PRAYER WORKS. This one really works. Whatever challenges you might face, just know that He’s always there for you. He will not forsake you. Call for Him through praying. It’s always nice to know that even the world turns you down; He’s always there to lift you up. As my life verse says (PROVERBS 3:4-5 NLT), "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths." It's about TRUSTING. TRUST HIM WITH ALL YOUR HEART. SEEK AND DO HIS WILL, HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH. SEEK A WORD FROM HIM.
Our country has experienced a great deal of disasters over the recent years, and poverty is still as rampant as ever. Filipinos have sought shelter by going abroad, either to work as OFWs, or to migrate there permanently. A number of causes have been pinpointed, and one of them, I believe, is overpopulation. Many have provided solutions to the problem: the government promotes the use of the more effective contraceptives while the Church disagrees and encourages natural contraception. I believe that the approach to the problem is incorrect. Population control may still be decades away from being effective, and what we could do today is to manage with the population we have.
