Nathan Cole’s and Charles Chauncey’s writings tell us about that George Whitfield had a powerful effect on the people who followed him during this time. For instance, Nathan Cole described how he drops everything he doing and hurried on his way when he hear that Mr. Whitfield was coming to preach.
